Rush Thorres

PostPosted: Thu Mar 05, 2009 6:48 pm

The boulder fagmented, gravity probably doing most of the work, but still, it felt cool. Rush was pushed back several feet by the force of the impending stone and trails in the dirt showed just how far he skidded down hill. Just because the boulder broke was not means to say Rush didn't feel it in his knuckles. Traces of blood shown, but nothing indicating they were broken. A thankful sight but relief was not an option in this time of urgency. Rush had to move on to the next boulder quickly, as this was a dangerous matter, and it was a secret contest between him and Shadow that Rush would mention if he by some miracle achieved redemption from the failure of the balancing act. Making his way to the next boulder was a quick journey as there seemed to be so many in a concentrated area and it was difficult not to feel a little overwhelmed. Rush took is vigilant round of strikes at the nearest unknowing boulder, with extreme prejudice . . .

Shadow made a horizontal slice, that seemed one attack as he went past the boulder. However as he landed it was obvious that his attack was much more for it also crumbled into many little pieces. Shadow looked at the other incoming boulders and grinned cockily. A bead of sweat formed on his brow, even though this was a simple enough exercise. He was still starting to get a bit of a warm up in, this would be good before the Chuunin exams. Although his cloths were already dirty and torn, which saddened him a little. He began to charge the next rock that was coming at him, letting out a loud war cry moments before leaping into the air to confront his next rocky mountain opponent.

The rock shattered with force behind his blows that were fairly impressive to Rush's own standards. He knew he overall sucked at strength challenges, but these boulders were either made of soft stone, or Rush was stronger than he thought. Really, it was just probably the sheer number of blows so quickly though. That was the most rational assumption. Assuming was a luxury of time Rush felt more and more pressed for. He quickly lunged about the mountain dodging through rolling hills. The next boulder caught in his gaze, he dashed towards it, considering how Shadow and whoever else taking part in this were doing. He couldn't imagine too much trouble for him. Rush on the other hand, was doing a generally good job, but struggled a bit, He'd have to keep on going, which he did, attacking the near boulder.

Rush had clearly been too distracted with his thoughts to deliver attacks at the correct positions to make it break. The boulder didn't proceed too far away for Rush to correct this error. He made his way towards it, this time focused on making the rock crumble. He took a large leap near the boulder and then took another jump trying to strike the center of the rock, hopefully with better results than the last time he dived at one of these.

Shadow moved as fast as a wild demon as he jumped into the air. He smashed through the rock easily, landing on one of his hands and going into a snazzy spin, jumping back up with his back faced towards the next rock. He grinned dervishly as he tilted his head to the next rock. He also noted Rush's progress, realizing that he had to step it up in order to keep with his younger cousin. He turned around and jolted towards the next boulder which was gaining speed an momentum. Although Shadow did note how there seemed to be significantly less then before. Perhaps his, along with every one else in the mountains efforts were helping put a stop to this. He darted with his body close to the ground, preparing for one hand to launch him into a cartwheel once he got close and the time was right... Which would be in 3.... 2.... 1...

Raisuke had gotten word of this. Another rockslide problem. And where had his sensei been? He hadn't seen him for a good little while now.. How annoying. But that was the way his sensei... No the way his squad worked more or less. People came and go as they pleased. At least until Giglamesh barked orders then everyone jumped. Part of the price to pay for having the Chuunin captain as your squad leader. But there was no one better to teach him really. He had an interest in blades just like his sensei. He didn't think quite as.. derrangedly yet but his sensei was quite manipulative when he tried to be. And this was all in Raisuke's youth. What did the future hold? Son of a b***h..

Hardly no time had passed between the time that he got the note from his sensei to be here and the time he had arrived. He had faced this issue before but this time he would go about it a little bit more intelligently. He jammed his ninjato into the ground quickly and ran, dragging it. He had just made a rift on the side of the mountain. It wasn't big, but he was going to stop some of these boulders atleast. He formed the necessary hand seals to form two water clones. Then he immediately dispelled the technique. Forcing water to seep into the cracks. One eye squinting as most of that water hand came from his body, only trace amounts came from the hydrogen and oxygen in the air around him. That water would have softened the earth some, making it easier to eventually dig this trench.

This time Rush dove through with multiple blows cracking the rock into dissapation. Rush felt better about this dive than the last. one. He had also gotten rid of the majority of the boulders in his immediate vicinity. Rush felt a bit more relaxed but that didn't mean he lost focus. He located the nearest one, and it turned out to be a ways up the mountain, allowing him to get a running start. He ran at it, dashing quickly and jumped up, prepared to make a downwards blow.

Shadow quickly took his feet out from under him, putting his left hand down. The rock was almost on him, but he sprung up going into a quirk screw flip, seeming to bend his body in odd and sporadic ways, however each bend and twist was part of a cut, that eventually took the boulder down to nothing but harmless dust. He landed dramatically and looked up to see another boulder rushing towards him. Not towards him, towards the village. After all Shadow was nothing more than an outsider right now, just a shinobi who was being shown the kindness of this village. This was all Shadow could do to repay their kindness, and Shadow was happy to do this, and hopefully even more. Shadow noticed the next rock was to close to rush, so he just took a casual stance as it rolled near him, ready to strike with extreme determination.

Rush landed on the boulder, unable to make a dent and being slid off the rock in a haze. Rush jumped up quickly, not letting anything stop him when he was so close to destroying all the rocks near him. He ran at it, this time trying to get far enough ahead of the rock so he could make a frontal assault, which seemed to have generally better results. He caught up to it and lunged infront of it, foot stretched out, swinging to make a better afront.

Shadow sighed in a depressed manner as the boulder came close, bending his wrist in a laid back fashion, and slicing it diagonally in half before continuing with the rest of his combo. No matter what he wouldn't let a rock get through to the village, by now he knew that. It was the idea of letting human life perish, or really any life for that matter. He hated everything about that mind set, which he found extremely ironic considering for a large portion of his life he was trained in the ways of an assassin. But then again, maybe he should abandon his pacifistic ways, after all wasn't a key part of being a shinobi being able to kill? Shadow nodded his head, he didn't think so. He walked casually to an oncoming slide of rocks, he moved like this while in thought. And once again the eternal question of right and wrong echoed in his head. As the large rock drew close he simply uttered a little

Heh...

Rush launched a foot into the boulder, getting enough tread to swing his other hand around. His hurling fist jammed into the top of the boulder. Acting quickly, before the boulder still had enough momentum to roll him over, he removed his planted foot and swung it around his entire body, his stuck fist as a hold, and brought it into the other side of the rock, hitting all the points to make it crumble. As the boulder fell to pieces Rush dropped to the ground, almost landing harshly on his knees, but still kept on his hands and feet, immediately darting to the next rock, near in sight. He set himself up for another combo attack, and took his attack.

Shadow sliced through another boulder like butter, he looked thoughtfully at the pale bone ninja to. Received from Charon, guardian of the underworld himself. Shadow always cared for his blade, even though he wasn't much of an expert with it, and he wasn't even a killer with it. Shadow went back into his thoughts about whether it was a shinobi's way to kill. He nodded his head in a no fashion. He believed that it was the opposite, it was to preserve life in whatever fashion that was possible. However some peoples views were split, and believed that sometimes killing had to be done to achieve this. What if that were true and Shadow was the incorrect one? He didn't know right now, it seemed like it could be any number of reasons. Shadow snapped out of his thoughts as he noticed that the amount of rocks were rapidly dying down. He smiled knowing he had done well on his part. Well, it seemed like he had, he wasn't quite finished yet. He began to run like a streak of fire at the few remaining tumbling boulders in his area.

Shadow sliced the boulder slide into nothing more then oblivion with a handful of well placed ninja to cuts. Shadow looked over at his cousin and smiled fondly to see him do so well. He was looking forward to seeing how he fared into the Chuunins, though his cousin was a little childish, he also had an incredible heart and great leadership abilities. Shadow was sure that he would pass without a problem! Shadow looked at all the rocks around him, and began to brush off the dust that had fallen onto his cloths. So irritating, getting dirty like this! He would make sure to take a bath, wash up, and see if Iwagakure had any good hot springs to offer before the Chuunins. He smiled looking down at the village, happy that he had somehow contributed to it's protection. He then heard the familiar rumbling sound and turned to see one last large boulder coming at him. Shadow simply started laughing like a maniac as it came at him.

PLEASE!?! YOU!?! What do you hope to accomplish, how do you expect to make it past mine, or anyone else who is determines defense? You can't do it! You'll never do it! At this point Shadow wasn't sure who he was talking to anymore, himself or the boulder. None the less he went for a final attack.

Shadow spun his sword around his hand a few times before sheathing it. He smirked at the rock simply muttering
Please, you're not even worth my time! Shadow stood there for a moment, a different aura then his usual cheery happy go lucky one, however that moment soon passed.
WAIT! I forgot all about Rush! Where is that kid, i need to do some educating!

Rush punched the rock at it's base, causing it to get some air, where Rush ducked down and kicked his foot strait upinto the bottom of the rock, giving it even more lift. From that he jumped strait up with a final strike, breaking through the bottom of the rock, breaking it into three bits that he emerged from with vigor. As he landed with a satisfied feeling, he spotted the last rock near him, one that rush would finish off with vigor. The rock didn't look exceptionaly large compared to the others, but Rush had worn himself a lot with his recently flashy moves. He made one last run towards the rock and took a strike that would hopefully finish it off.

Rush launched three might blows at the rock, enough to deconstruct it in a menacing way. He landed breathing sort of heavily, wishing to meet back up with Shadow where ever he got to. . . .

Karnage entered the scene of havoc with an expression of sheer boredom. Which is probably the only reason he was here at the moment. He could see the collection of ninjas that were defending the village and noticed among them were the cousins Zin. As his mantra decreed, he was to try and do the least amount of work so he tried to end this quickly. He pulled out his trench knives and in with a series of blows he carved his boredom into the flesh of an oncoming boulder.
