((No worries, I have finally returned as well.))

For a few moments, the Uchiha watched as the Orochi went through the motions of the training session with his weapon. Merely by observing the way that the boy committed to every motion, Sukotto knew that he'd be hard pressed to find any shinobi who was so dedicated to making themselves more powerful, even higher ranking shinobi. Unfortunately, this also meant that Shisei's lust for power could potentially lead him down a path that wasn't favorable for Shimagakure, as the boy seemed tempted to roll his eyes every time Sukotto stated that they were becoming stronger to better defend the village. Sukotto wasn't sure how to handle a situation such as this, and figured that he wouldn't be able to handle it on his own. However, the Uchiha figured that if Shisei felt as though he always had more to gain from the Chuunin, then he wouldn't wander off into the darkness. While this comforted Sukotto to some degree, he was certain that he wasn't the very strongest shinobi of his generation, and some day a stronger ninja would come along and attract Shisei's attention away from the Uchiha shinobi. Before that happened, Sukotto would need to devise a strategy to ensure that the boy would stick with Shimagakure.

The Orochi youth stood watching for a few seconds, his brain leaving no thoughts behind for the world to view. Only a small sentence came to his lips after a while. “Hopefully all the trash will die…” his voice stated that was audible and uncaring. There was no hint of trying to hide the comment or anything. As far as the serpent youth was concerned the undeserving ants should be exterminated. His amber suns turned away and saw the Uchiha staring at him. “Analyzing….” Shisei did not care for that. At the same time it was something the boy was constantly doing so he couldn’t necessarily tell him to stop. Instead hopefully something else would concern his mind. “The student dormitory is on fire.” the dread hair told Sukotto without a hint of anxiety or elevated emotion. His voice was as deadpan as if he were talking about grass growing. At least it was audible enough for all to hear. Instead of turning back to finish watch the scene, Shisei was more concerned with his tessen.

There was something the snake student wanted to try and with the wind, it could be plausible. Just something to examine. First the boy would need to restart his combo again. In which he did, with more confidence than the first two times. As his body went through each of the moves his mind remembered back to those days with the Trunk family and his tessen. As luxurious and striking the golden weapon was. It did not have a name. Something that had surprised all three Hyuuga girls. Their first surprise came when they realized Shisei was not taking care of the weapon at all. One day everyone just noticed how its golden wood had began to dull to a nasty dirty sand color, with spots chipped off showing the original dark color. Different parts of it were chipped and splintered and showed signs of overuse (ironically from the Hyuuga students and not little snake himself). When asked, Shisei obviously did not know the reasoning behind keeping a weapon in top form. For some reason, Kanami, Naomi, Chinatsu and a few others took to repairing the wooden wind fang to how it first came to mansion. Shisei never understood why they took such a liking to crafting it back, when he himself did not care. The serpent youth stayed out of their way of the tessen grooming as it became a team project for his Hyuuga peers and the younger children just barely out of diapers. After a week or two passed the tessen was presented back to Shisei just as it had come. The only imperfection was the scar within. This was left because if they tampered with it the entire instrument could have break or lose its potency. A real blacksmith would need to fix that, but the Orochi did not mind.

Two moves left within the combination. The dread hair performed them perfectly. On the last movement, his fingers placed the tessen low to ground horizontally and open. At the same time his body did a small hop. These two movements happened simultaneously and put the Orochi wanderer on top of the tessen. Thanks to the wind his body was able to stay on the wind fang and the weapon was propelled forward at the silhouette. Shisei’s form plowed through the shadow dissipating it for good on this night. It was definitely a move he would have to practice in the future. Or perhaps even make a jutsu out of. Unfortunately his body was still light and the entire weapon was pushed upwards with the child threatening to send both of them gliding off of the cliff. Despite the danger, the boy was pleased. This weapon. It was good the Hyuuga had come to love it, which somehow led to him keeping it.

Even after they polished off the weapon, there was still something missing to it. A name. At least for Naomi such a good armament deserved a name. Chinatsu and Kanami also went right after into thinking of a name. It took a few days to finally get the right name, with much searching through magazines to find a good one. Finally the group came to a name. Something that kind of fit the Orochi child yet at the same time to fit what he dreamed. And with positive connotations to balance out his overly negative attitude. A body that symbolized the celestial bodies. A symbol of high virtue and grace, like how the Orochi held himself. Something that showed the merger of yang and yin, thus showing the Hyuuga had some part in the weapon. Also for feminist symbolism which the females got, but has still flown over Shisei’s head. And also something that marked new beginnings.

The wind fang was named this with such elation. It was something that could continue to endeavor. Even the name grew on Shisei after a while. Thus the origin of the name, Fenghuang.

Learning Fenghuang
Fenghuang is the giant tessen that Shisei stole years ago. Because of its unique size and Shisei’s past injury he still has a bit of trouble balancing and using the weapon. Upon a windy cliff would be a good time to practice with it.

The Uchiha's heart sank when he heard the serpent youth's words. At first he thought the threat of the fire was to cover up the fact that he had so plainly stated that all the trash will die. However, Sukotto knew that Shisei didn't care enough about anyone else's opinion to feel the need to cover his words, so the chuunin slowly turned around and spotted a large plume of smoke rising from the area of the village that was the dormitory. He had become so involved with training his squad and completing his own training that he had lost sight of what really mattered, the village itself. The Uchiha quickly came up with something for Shisei to do next and decided that he would check out the scene of disaster on his own at first. He wasn't sure why part of the village was on fire, so he didn't want his entire squad walking into some sort of ambush. "Shisei, continue practicing with your tessen, and make sure to keep that rock solid focus that you've managed to demonstrate. I'm going to go check out that fire to see what's going on. If I'm not back by the time Serena finishes her training, then I want the both of you to meet me at the Uchiha Estate. From there, we'll be able to plan some sort of strategy if the village happens to be under attack. I'll see you both soon." With that said, Sukotto swiftly made his way towards the village, hoping that the situation was under control.

"Huwahh? The dorms??" Serena stopped from her staff training for a minute to listen to Shisei. She saw it too. Smoke, rising from the direction of the dormitory. Something was going on, and she wanted to know what exactly the situation was. Well maybe the Raiken could go and check real quick...

Before she was able to head off, though, Sukotto had already made his way away from the cliffs towards the sight of damage. "Huh...I guess we're staying here?" She held up her staff again and swung it down, striking what she wanted to be a confident position. Staff practice was indeed going quite slow, and becoming a bit of a bore.

As his body rose higher into the air due to the wind the more Shisei became unsure of his decent. Before his body could go drifting like paper of the cliff he tried to maneuver it back downwards. This only led the child to lose his footing and the fan flew away right from under him like a surfer losing control of their surf board. It was followed by a wipe out; Shisei’s body landing head first with a thud into the stone floor. He grunted a bit as the tessen also fell near him. When his frame slipped away the wind fang had closed so it didn’t continue to dance in the air. The gold eyes rose up to still see the Raiken girl still there practicing. “Surprising…. I thought you would have rushed down to check on the dormitory.” the Orochi stated taking a seat on the floor. “Strike the staff down vertical between both hands in front of you. Keep your palm on in a way that you can swing the staff out quickly. Or maybe push forward. That way if anyone attacks you, you can use your body weight to push them off balance. Well with a vertical strike anyways.” his breath also stated watching the girl do her practice.

Serena eyes widened as she gasped at the sight of Shisei's fall. Quickly, though, she realized he was okay, and continued to work on competing her task. "Well..you know. Sukotto was headed down there anyways..." She made several controlled strokes with her staff and then stopped to rest her her arms for a second.

It wasn't surprising that when she stopped, the golden-eyed boy would take the opportunity to show off his intelligence. In as sense, though, it was actually pretty good advice that she should take. The Raiken positioned her hands in the suggested way, and swung her staff down sharply, and then used the palm of her hand to move the weapon left as she shifted her weight, too. "Hm. Smart..." He had reminded her of a skill she had forgotten for a good while..

The serpent youth crossed his legs and continued to sit and watch the Raiken girl perform her staff moves. He was not in particular to start back on any type of training, despite what the senior shinobi had said. At least not till his head stopped thumping from the drop a few moments ago. Yet the boy wasn’t going to let on his cranium was hurting to anyone. Especially not the girl before him. Speaking of… “Just because Sukotto’s going down there doesn’t mean everything is going to be alright. You’re friends or kin could be in the burning dorm. Is that not a concern to you or do you believe Sukotto will save the day?” Shisei said, ending his statement in a sarcastic manner. It was safe to say the Orochi born did not have much faith in the chuunin.

As he watched the Raiken continue her training the boy decided to give another possible useful tip. “If you can balance on one leg, like some martial arts styles, that maybe able to help. An opponent might be intimidated or underestimate your strength if you do some type of stance that makes it look like you’re off balance.”.

All Serena could do was glare at the boy. His annoying self really needed to stay out of other people's business. "If that's the case, then why aren't you down there?" The Raiken continued to strike her staff in different directions as she though about it. "And anyways..all of my kin would be staying in the Raiken mansion, not the dorms..." It did not really stop her from worrying about the people at the dorms though. Shisei was making her panic. Though she really didn't want to admit it, she did feel concerned about what was going on down there. Nonetheless, the Raiken decided she wasn't going to go.

She wasn't going to let the boy affect her thinking. She trusted that many people besides Sukotto would be down there to help. She was getting nervous and strayed from thinking about what Shisei was saying to her about her training now, though. This kid...just really annoyed her sometimes. He says something that gets inside her head, and she begins to think about it more and more, and then she can't concentrate on what she was originally doing. "If you're not doing anything, why don't you go down there and check?"

Amber suns followed Serena’s movements like a hunting animal. At his sentence Shisei noticed her stumble. Her face had a look of anxiety now. That and her speech sounded just slightly awry. It did not have its usual ambiguity that the snake remembered. “She probably is worried…. a normal reaction.” his mind assumed. Shisei could be wrong, but that seemed like the natural emotion that others on this island would have. When she asked him a question his eyes nor face did not falter. “There is no reason for me to check. Whoever is in that dorm does not matter to me. Unless you are trying to get rid of me.” was the Orochi’s answer. After all he had left the village so whoever was inside the dorms now were probably new. Whoever was old and perished… well that only proved how foolish that Tenmoki woman was for promoting them and not him. Despite this thought the Orochi’s face remained expressionless as he continued to watch Serena practice. “Don’t stop practicing now because of the fire. You can keep practicing and talking at the same time. Can’t you?” Shisei said in more of a challenging way. Maybe that would bring the girl back to put more concentration in her staff and not the ants in the village. Shisei failed to see that he was increasingly becoming a distraction for the kunoichi.

"Hmph...that's quite a good idea you have there." Serena really wished the boy would stop nagging her about this. She wanted to finish her staff training, and in order to do that, she had to focus. Well, in order to focus, the girl needed Shisei far far away from her, where she could not hear him speak. Constructive criticism was one thing, but what he was doing was both annoying yet helpful. It would actually be kind of a tough decision. Force him to leave right now and lose some helpful tips, or keep him here and possibly never focus long enough to complete it. The Raiken was leaning towards the first option..but soon decided that she would be done in a minute anyways, so it didn't really matter.

"I know. Its not like I'm too dumb to multitask."" Serena sighed at his challenging remark and continued her staff work until she decided she could stop. "There. Done. You happy now?" She put her staff back into its holder and placed her hands on her hips. She was finished and now she might be able to go check out what was going on in the village. Or not. Sukotto mentioned going somewhere after they were done training..

Shisei watch as the taller teen displayed a few more moves of her staff before stopping and glancing back at him. She asked him if he was happy? “I’m ecstatic.” The boy said with his deadpan features. His form then laid back into the ground and stared up at the night sky. It would be morning soon and still no word of what this mission was supposed to entail or of the third member. Things were becoming too much of a hassle once again. “What do you think is this mission that Sukotto wants us on?” the Orochi questioned. The boy wasn’t too sure if she would know or not, but it seemed like the Uchiha had more confidence in the other two members so there was always the possibility that she knew the answer.

"Heh. I don't know...I think he mentioned it to me once, but I don't exactly remember. We're going out of Shima to get something I think.." Serena ended her reply with a yawn. How long has it been since they were up at the cliffs? It seemed to be past midnight, almost morning, in fact. She sat down in a soft area and lay down to look up at the sky. It had been a while since she actually took the time to go outside and gaze at the world above her. It was always beautiful, no matter what kind of weather...it always had such an enchanting feeling about it. The fact that there was no end to the sky...the Raiken always wondered what was beyond it.

Shisei didn’t look towards the female Raiken. His eyes stayed pinned on the dark sky scattered with stars. The stars that remained so high in the sky above everything and watching down. The goal before him was that high, but the height of such an ambition did not scare him. It drove him more. The stars that remained so high and looked down upon the world. One day his strength would be like the stars where as everyone else would be like the world below. The Orochi youth put one palm towards the sky. His eye could see his hand clutching the stars in between his fingers. One day it would be so. His dream was that far away, but only for so long. Nothing would hold him back from it. Be it Tenmoki, Hyuuga or even Orochi, well whatever was left of Orochi, he would not falter in his dream.

Little snake allowed his arm to drop back to the earth near his form. His ears picked up the yawn of Serena and her body lying somewhere upon the cliff. Guess it wouldn’t be a bad time to sleep. “Well if he comes back soon wake me up. I’m calling it a night.” the boy said while covering his face with his a forearm. The other hand pressed behind his head to serve as a pillow. After all tomorrow is another day.

Twilight Time:
Shisei slept tonight considering what he could do with his tessen, Fenghuang and the other techniques he could learn. Ideas pondered through his monochrome dreams of jutsu far more advanced for any of the so called genin would learn.

It was only for a few short hours and despite the lack of sleep from previous nights Shisei was beginning to awaken. It was a combination of the nightmare his mind was in and the twitch on his nose. It was as if something was light touching it. The amber suns opened to be greeted by a blue winged butterfly sitting comfortably on his nose. The serpentine eyes stared at the insect with no expression of joy or happiness and allowed the thing to stay. After two minutes of examining the bug examining his nose the Orochi decided to rise. His form sat up first. The maverick saw Serena resting in her place and decided not to disturb her. They were up for much of the night. Ironic how it seems he loses more sleep around the Raiken. It was not a hindrance though. Late nights and early hours were becoming a usual for the serpent youth. It had been so for the last year since his failure at the Hyuuga examination. It had become part of his obsession…

Instead the Orochi decided to try a little more training with his tessen. He could contemplate a few jutsu for today. His eyesight realized that neither Uchiha was around. “Hmm….” Shisei thought. He was not sure what to make of it. Unless the two were like the rest of the island of shinobi and they went off in the woods to practice their romance. That probably was reason. Standing up the boy reached for his tessen…. wait where the hell was Fenghuang? His purple dreads looked left and right, but he still did not see it. His body then moved towards the cliff edge. The sun was rising slowly from afar bringing a dark orange hue throughout the village. The charcoaled remains in the distance were the only flaw to the morning picture. The boy’s head pivoted downwards and finally came across the golden instrument partially open and stuck between some branches protruding from the side of the rock formation. “Feh… an annoying turn of events.” Rather dangerous, and throwing caution to the win Shisei hopped over the edge. Whoever saw this may believe this was an successful attempt at suicide, but despite how it would look the Orochi had some type of idea what he was doing. His left foot had landed in between two jagged rocks, while the over pushed off another stone. Both palms had clung to the edge of the cliff, so little snake was ok for now. If he could only stay that way.

Retrieving The Fan
Apparently while sleeping the strong winds from the cliff had blown Fenghuang off the edge. It is now stuck within a protruding branch of the cliff. Sliding and slipping on such perilous rocks is sure to bring pain and scratched limbs. Hopefully the young Orochi can retrieve back his fan without falling to his death.

Serena didn't want to wake up. She was only half conscious of where she was and didn't care to open her eyes to the light coming up. She turned over on the patch of grass she was lying on and took a deep breath in. Before she was going to get up, the Raiken wanted to recollect her memories of the day before...remember why she was sleeping on the cliffs. 'Oh right...new squad..training..' She inhaled another breath of fresh air. 'The dorms..were burning. Sukotto left--I finished practice...and here.' The genin sighed and decided she was going to get up and figure out what everyone was doing. Slowly, she sat up and opened her drowsy gray eyes to the world.

To her surprise, no one was around the cliffs. They hadn't abandoned her, had they? They couldn't have...for if they did, she would be quite upset. Well, the view was still beautiful as always. Serena made her way to the edge of the cliff and looked out at the sea. Just like the sky, it seemed endless... "Hey...Hey! What're you doing down there? You better be careful or you're gonna get hurt!" The Raiken was staring right at a serpent crawling amongst the rocks. His tessen must have found its way down there somehow, and he was planning on retrieving it. It was a rather dumb idea to go down there alone though, the rocky landscape and height was risky. One bad step and he could fall to his demise..
