As for as I know, Bahamut SIN is the only Bahamut (or summon at all) in the movie). Those creatures, if I know what you're talking about, are definitely not Bahamuts. For one, they call them before they get their hands on any materia. I think they're called Shadow Creepers.
Yeah, I don't have any guesses of my own; I'm just shooting down other people's. stare

you mean those dog things that kept attacking people before bahamet showed up and while cloud was on his bike?..if so the raven should be correct with the whole shadow thing

When I think of strong monsters from FFXII, I think of the strongest creature in FF to date: Yiazmat. It's 50 million HP of power that takes hours to defeat and a crapload of planning beforehand...
