From behind them, in the heat, they heard a roar of rage. If one chanced to look back one last time before fleeing, they would see a large hand, the size of a wide dinner plate, stretching out of the cracks and crevices... covered in molten rock.

The hair on Nam's neck raised with a straitness unheard of at the roar. He'd had enough fright in the past hour then he'd had in his entire life.

The Duke of Hoyles was sitting at the breakfast table, happily cutting up his over-easy eggs. He blinked at Kryxel's statement. "Why, whatever do you mean?" He asked, incredulously. "'Lava monsters?' Have you been down in those fumy catacombs, breathing the toxic sulfuric gases, my good man?"
Rosemary was also at the table, eating breakfast. Her eggs were scrambled, and stretched across the table were eggs that were scrambled, over-easy, boiled, and poached. There were strips of bacon, sausage in links and in patties, waffles, turkey bacon, beef jerky, biscuits, hash browns, grits, diced potatoes covered in a thin layer of shredded cheese and bacon bits, glasses of milk, juice, water, tea, and jars of butter and jam. Silverware enough for all guests were spread out across the table as well.
"Those fumes down there can be deadly," the Duke admonished while buttering his biscuit. "It is... ill-advised to go down there, especially at night."
Of course, the Duke was lying to them, denying any existence of the supernatural... or, they could actually have been hallucinating....

Nam was perfectly ready to accept the fact that the monster was indeed just a hallucination and he should never - EVER - go back down there again and sat down to eat. He took a little of everything, trying to put the monsters out of his mind. He had a sick feeling he would be down there again sometime too soon.

"dude...think of who you are talking to...i am a member of the elite operations division. they dont handle petty crimes nor heavy crimes. we deal with the supernatural...ghosts, demons, aliens, and other things that go bump. now i want to know all the details because that lava demon was no halucination. that my good man i can garanty you...same goes for the wolf monster. i havent had to face one of those yet out side of this creapy place you call home...so spill old man...or else i will make you spill." kryxel said stairing at the duke with all his anger

Hoyles leaned back and pressed his fingertips against one another, similar to how one would arrange their hands when they were praying. But Hoyles believed in no religion.
"Oh, fine then... Kryxel." The Duke's eyes flashed a dangerous gleam, but his smile was the same sinister, yet removed, grin.
"If you would like to see my pet," Hoyles said slowly, "then you will have to get to here. In the great hall, where the stairs are, you will find a portrait of myself. You can poke the eye in - it's a button. Once pressed, the portrait will open up, and then you'll be able to see the wonders that lay inside. There shall be no need for explanation - it will all be self-explanatory."
Hoyles then reached into his shirt pocket, from which he withdrew a polished brass key, and tossed it to Kryxel. "The next door will require this key, however. I must warn you, though," the Duke added, "not to touch anything. Now, go."
And that was all Hoyles had to say on the matter.

"okay but if i see a genie or a flying carpet i am out of there." kryxel said taking the key and heading to the painting. he pushed the eye and it opened up revealing a corridor with a big metal door.
