Emily saw something interesting in his face.
"I'm sorry... I'm not sure I know about Celyna..." She stopped a few feet away from him and clasped her hands politely in front of her. She could now see the spirit threads around him a bit better than before. From what she could tell they were all strong, but well weathered, too. Old?
"That's right, this building is meant for prayers... sadly though... I think a lot of fighting has gone on around here through the ages..."

he noded, understanding that perfectly. he touched his first two fingers of his right hand to his forhead, an age old show of respect. " though it still stands... it has survived this long mayhab it could survive longer.." it was getting easier to speak in this language, he was listening to how she spoke and figureing it out as he went. he slid his sword threw his belt and stood, thoughtfuly moveing to stand infront of her. passing a hand infront of her face he said in an almost soft tone, more to himself than to her. "your eyes see more than usual.. but can you understand the cost of knowing what they tell..." the crystal lit up on his chest and something shifted, his spirit threads seeming to fade. it was a defense, the crystal protecting him from others abilities. as a warrior it had saved him many times, and now it was all he had left from that life time.

She was a bit shocked to see him coming towards her so calmly, and was a bit more shocked when he revealed that he knew she could see something out of the ordinary. Slowly, Emily saw this mans spirit threads begin to fade from her sight. She lowered her gaze from him and watched as they the threads disappeared. Emily seemed in a slight bit of awe, before reclaiming her composure.
"I've felt that cost first hand many times...." She looked back up at the stranger, catching the glint of the glowing jewel as she did so. "But are you worried?" She blinked slowly, and opened her eyes again. Would reading from his spirit threads cause the trouble he implied? It must, if he were concerned.
"I don't have a problem with not seeing them..." she didn't know how much he could tell about her ability, but she didn't go into any detail. "Not seeing yours, it might be a short gift, even if you did not expect it."

Zain noded and held out his hand, saying in the same tone. " im not threatening you... just stateing a fact." sighing softly he noded his head to her. "i am Za.." he caught himself, chooseing to use how it sounded in this language. " Zain.. im Zain."

Emily's look softened again. This man was quite peculiar, indeed. But interesting, none the less.
"Zain." She repeated, and took his hand. She nodded her head politely. "I am Emily. And I would say I'm pleased to meet you."
(OOC: I assume that is why his hand was outstretched?)

Emily did smile this time, and laughed lightly.
"You are misplaced, aren't you?" She placed her free hand over the grasp he had on her other one, as if to assure him that it was ok.
"I feel like I should ask you if I can help you with anything."

he looked at the door for a moment, sighing. " could you.. explain?" he pointed at a small light socket on a pillar, intrest lighting up his eyes. he had been dumbfounded by the things outside.. and had ducked in here to find some breathing room. but he wanted to know so many things, like how they kept the fire in that small orb.. he had always been intrested with new things, this place for all its noise was filled with amazeing things.

Emilys gaze followed in the direction Zain was pointing until she spotted the object he was so interested in.
"That?" She said aloud. "That is a light socket..." She thought again about the short time she had been able to see his spirit threads, and how they appeared aged. But if he didn't wish for her to know about him, she decided she would not ask. "Electrical, meaning it uses electrical charges to light each fixture."

"ah.." he murmerd. reaching up he held a hand right above it, wanting to touch it but not sure if he should. " so much is different.. amazing things could change so much in a thousand years.. " he sounded amused, his silver gaze fixed on the light socket as if to make it tell all of its secrets. suddenly he was looking at Emily again, almost to quickly for her to see him move. " this electic thing can effect other such objects?"

"Yes, actually. People use it for many different things. It's a sort of energy." She answered his questions easily and without any further inspection of the reason why, at least not aloud. But she did wonder about him. She kept the hook of her parasol around her wrist as she stood and watched him. Emily didn't know what else to do for the man, as he obviously wanted to keep some things to himself. So she waited to see if he had any more questions. If she could help, she would.

"so you rely on this.. " he said to himself, walking back to her side and frowning. he wasnt comfterble asking, but it didnt change the fact that he needed to know. holding his arm up he pulled the leather aside, bareing the scratchs up and down his skin. " where is the local healer...?" he hadnt been free for very long at all.. but so much had happened he had been able to ignore the small wounds. most were from when he tried to move and the chains got him, but the others were just there... might have something to do with the stone crumbleing ... he mused.

Emily could almost feel the pain, as anyone would, when she saw the wounds on Zains arm. She took a step toward him and moved her hand as if to touch his arm, but stopped just an inch away, as only to inspect the wounds.
"A local healer?" She looked back up to him. "There are people in the world who can do such things, but would a regular doctor suffice?" Or did he mean that from the beginning? At this point Emily wouldn't have been surprised if he had asked for a pet Leviathan.
(OOC: I don't think there is any particular placed listed as a hospital, but we could perhaps go to "Downtown Mainland.")

Zain blinked, trying not to sound nieve. "doctor... s-sure.." his accent made it less obvius he stutterd, trying to say doctor the same way she had. his face blanked and he shifted his weight quietly from foot to foot. " if they can make it stop from bleeding then it will be fine." he had had worse, this was just a slight irritation. he watched her hand curiusely as he sighed. so much to learn.
(( sure if you want to. we can go to the downtown area.))

His accent sometimes made it a bit difficult to understand the details of all his words, but Emily only thought of it as interesting, and didn't notice his stutter.
She pulled back from him a bit. "They can stop the bleeding. But we'll have to walk, if you think you'll be ok." Emily tended to wander quite often, and today this is where it had led her. She was glad for that though, what an interesting day it had already been.
(OOC: ooc again xD I've gtg for tonight/day but if you want to go ahead an post in/at the Mainlands, I can follow up there tomorrow. :3
PS: in addition to respecting his wishes, that's why she's not asking questions XD )
