Jasper was caught up in the web of static that was Dayo’s hair, and floated along behind her without complaint. He was like a fish caught on the hook… except without all of the fighting back and splashing bout. After all.. if there was ever such a thing as the perfect man-bait, Dayo was most certainly it.
He peered out from the tangle to explore the direction they were headed. There was his Guardian, skanking it up at the bar, and a lot of people… stuffing their faces with pie. Jasper cringed lightly as he anticipated the volley of barfing that would likely come once that competition was over. Ah well. As long as it didn’t get on his jewelry. Or his hair.
Whistling some unknown showtune, he laced his fingers behind his head and let Dayo tug him along.

.ll Sand N' Stuff ll.
Josh sat up from his position on the wet sand, looking much like a marooned merman, and faced Namini. His lissome fingers traced delicately through his damp hair, slicking the wet tresses back against his skull. His face pulled into a tight, mischievous smirk, “Maybe…” The boy was finding it hard now to fight back his eagerness. Finally, he had found someone who could actually prove entertaining! His eyes lit up much like a spirited puppy who had just found the perfect playmate. His auburn orbs swirled intensely with energy and vigor. It seems as though the couple’s usual rolls were switched. Namini now held calm authority and Josh was bouncing about like a giddy child.
Josh leaned in as she sat down, as if they truly were sharing a secret just for their ears, then without missing a beat he laced his fingers with Namini’s and hoisted her up from the wave washed sand just as soon as her butt had connected with the moist earth. “You’re right we are the only ones here right now… we should do something fun…” He left the statement open ended so the girl could interpret it whichever way she wanted. For now, Josh’s only concern was releasing some of the pent up energy he had wriggling uncomfortably in his body. He came here to run around and be the immature teenager he was, not lollygag in one place and watch the sunset!

((Beach Bar Buffet))
As the festival wore on, and the first event took off, a familiar pair finally reached the sandy beach. Lillian and Tyson, late as usual, had arrived to the beach bash! Lugging a bag of knick knacks, the two trudge towards the activity.
Yet to be in a gaggle of fun and laughter, neither looked too happy. Tyson was wearing his now day-to-day mope face while Lillian just looked agitated. Why? Well, for once she had tried to get to a party on time, this bash being that party. It had taken a good number of hours the night before, but she had done it! The clothes had been laid out, along with a purse full of the essentials. Early in the morning she rose and got herself ready before it came time to rouse her younger brother. Following breakfast she soaked the little raincloud boy in sunscreen and called for a cab.
Yet here they were, an hour to two hours late! All that planning, all the struggles, and the sweat poured into getting here on time…a complete failure. Lillian’s hand reached down and grabbed Tyson’s limp hand, dragging the boy down the sand hill to the tents where people billowed in an out. By the sound and looks of it, something fun had already begun.
Darn it! So much for getting Tyson into something…unless…Fortunately Lillian didn’t have to scope the beach party for long at all to find a listing of activities. It was all in good fortune that they had come down the right slope to end up beside the Beach Bar Buffet and that the wind just so happened to brush up against the paper that held what was left of the party fun.
After reading over the activities that remained, the oldest Maevin signed her brother up for both the Paintball fight and the Limbo game, while she placed herself into the Storytelling activity.
By the time she had finished her plot to cheer up Tyson, the boy was gone from her side. Rather than chase after him, like she would have done only a few months ago, Lillian set the heavy bag down at her feet and seated herself at the bar with a great sigh. It was time to relax! This was a party, a time to have some fun!

(( Eating Contest Area ))
Dayo made no attempt at masking her delight as she observed the competitors of the eating contest struggle to get enough food down their gullets to win. Not that she found that part of it appealing at all, oh no... it was the variety of feelings people expressed while they tried, just as numerous as the pie flavors that had been provided for the game! The intensity of the atmosphere lightened itself a bit as the empath drank it in, her own disposition brightening a bit at the good meal the contest had provided for her.
Her drifting eventually carried her to a seat with a familiar body type floating above it - he had about as much torso as the pretty Melisande did, but he was red, silver and sharp where the muse was pink, flowery and frilly. He also seemed to be having a bit of trouble eating the pies, and his resulting mood had drawn the empathic Raevan towards him.
Inertia would cause Jasper to eventually bump against someone as the eagle girl stopped to watch, and maybe say hello if Lazarus was willing to talk in between bites.

[[ ??? -> Beach Bar ]]
Altair was pushed out of the back of a rusty green station wagon as its driver yelled “This is as furr ‘s Ah’m a-takin’ yuh, yuh creep! Touch mah daughter again and I’ma keel yooouuu!” Altair fell to his knees on the ground and sat there for a moment before standing up and observed his surroundings. Clear skies, and a pristine ocean beyond a somewhat populated beach. “Bollocks! Your daughter was filthy anyways, she made the move on ME, you crazy hick!” he yelled at the driver and his daughter, fully aware of their absence but feeling the right to express his contempt nonetheless.
Luckily, Altair was kicked out of his third hitch-hiked ride within the past day at exactly the right place. He had heard that Zayne had been on a mission investigating some Lab of sorts and got curious and bored alone, so he did his best to follow him. With his latest hydrogen powered car completely exploding on him and leaving him in only a pair of black and white knickers (which he bartered for a swimsuit, feeling it appropriate as he’d heard some details about a beach party of some kind) and a black beret (as he figured he’d get dirty, he kept the white one safe in his laboratory) he was forced to hitchhike across miles of land in order to catch up with his friend. Finally arriving at his destination, he felt a bubble of pride swelling in his chest as he scoped the different areas of the beach for Zayne.
===
After a few minutes of wandering about the beach, he spotted a bar by the beach, and noted Zayne sitting there. “Sweet,” he victoriously said to himself as he rushed over to the silver and black streaked haired guy sitting at the bar, popping up dangerously close to his shoulder and quietly, yet extremely enthusiastically whispering “Hi there, buddy-o!” as he quickly backed off and sat down at the nearest chair. “Surprised to see me yet? I’ll give you a few seconds to appreciate my beauty,” he said jokingly, brushing his black bangs out of his brilliant green eyes.

With a loud yelp and a leap out of his chair, Zayne stumbled back, the hair on the back of his neck prickling. Always popping out of random places- where the hell did he come from anyways?! "HOLY SH_T!! Altair!" Zayne exhaled and lifted the chair upright, his cheeks a rosy color. He had been in such concentration of the pie eating and his thoughts, that he hadn't seen the beret-sporting inventor creep up on him. He hadn't been this surprised in a long while. The color didn't drain out of his cheeks, nor did the prickling stop. "Seriously, where did you come from, and why are you here?" Zayne sat back in his chair and wearily watched the inventor glancing now and then to the crowd surrounding the pie-eaters. He should have been used to it by now- Altair popping up in random spots where he would be at. But, quite obviously, he wasn't. But since he was here anyways... Zayne leaned against the bar and looked back at the pie-eaters, "also, do you want a drink or food? You missed most of the pie-eating contest." He motioned to the bar and buffet that presented itself nearby.

(( Pie eating contest // Beach bar ))
With a little difficulty, Lazarus managed to finish the lemon meringue pie. He accidentally let out a burp loudly as he pushed the empty tray away. Oops! He placed a hand on his abdomen, he had a weird feeling there now, it feels like he's being... filled. It's only logical, he thought as he pulled another tray of pie towards him, he is eating after all. But it was a feeling unfamiliar to him.
Oblivious to Meli's wave, he was about to dig into his cream pie when he shifted a little and turned his head around. Perhaps his instincts detected a presence there, or his boob antennae was just working wonderfully that day. But suddenly his eyes were greeted with Dayo. (and her boobs) His eyes grew wide as he found his eyes somehow glued to the tattoo on her chest. Without removing his eyes, he took a large chomp off of his pie and swallowed quite loudly.
"Zoologist eh? What animals do you study on the Barton Cliffs?" he asked Alex casually, as his eyes drifted back to the contest stage. He noticed that Ekundayo had arrived near the stage towards Laz, but it was too far away to make out what was actually happening. Shrugging off the slight worry, he returned his gaze and smile towards Alex. "Alright! It's a date!" he exclaimed happily, smiling so wide his perfect white teeth are visible to all. He wasn't looking to go into a relationship at the moment, but hanging out would be fun. Especially with coffee and dessert abound. "I don't have a car though," Kyou said as he scratched his cheek, a little embarrassed. "But if we go to Cafe Jubilee, Natsuki's cafe, it's walking distance for me!" he suggested, remembering that Alex is Natsuki's friend.

David raised a curious brow at the woman's response, somehow drawn into her sensual confidence. He even smirked at the "oh let me appear casual" hair flip he had seen oh, too often with other women of this type. This "type" being the independent and ,sometimes, unpredictable kind. This concept forced David to do everything but feel intimidated; He had been itching for a good challenge for a long time. And yet..something warned him to walk cautiously around this one. She seemed to be the super special "wild" type too, underneath that cool composure. He continued their conversation without missing a beat.
"A price, you say? Well, here's the price Miss. If you want your hat back so badly," he purred, taking said accessory and placing it atop his own head, "then you'll have to give me a name. No name, no hat. Sorry, this business takes before it gives." David's smirk widened as he crossed his arms playfully, awaiting the woman's answer.

Namini peacefully replied to Josh's overwhelming energy with a half hearted smile, her mind flickering back to the time David and Josh had fought, but she kept the majority of her concerns to herself. Especially well she felt a warm hand intertwining with her own. Surprised, Namini felt all the color rush to her face as she looked down to make sure it was Josh's hand paired with hers, ...though why should she suspect another, when they were the only two on the beach? Ah, she could really be clueless sometimes. That's when she was drawn back into reality.
"Fun?" she repeated the word carefully, as if she had been handling some kind of porcelain doll. With the blush still adorning her cheeks, Namini's mind seemed to race away from the unhappiness settled within her chest at the moment and back towards her usual, bubbly self. Smiling brilliantly like she had before, Namini broke out into a free-spirited laugh as she stood up and nodded at Josh.
"Come on!! Let's do something fun!" she squealed, jumping for joy. For now, her worries were pushed to the back of her mind. She would just have fun without David.

RoChan was a bit surprised at the soft voice that came from the Raevan’s lips, but smiled none the less. As his eyes wondered to the top of her head for a moment, she let a curse fly internally. The dragoness tapped the horns on her head briefly and they disappeared with a low popping sound. “Sorry, they tend to appear when I’m not looking.
“As to your question,” RoChan gave a casual shrug and a hearty laugh. “Curiosity is all. This is my first time actually attending—” A familiar looking minty frei pushed an equally familiar contestant into a pie breaking her line of thought for the smallest of moments. “One for longer than ten minutes.” RoChan concluded with a bemused grin. Sucked for that poor fellow, but it was immensely hilarious.
“That dainty one can sure pack away a lot of pies.” She remarked with a chuckle. “I wonder if she has an extra stomach or two for all of those.” Actually... she was wondering how any of those people were doing this! It was all so.... fascinating!

Alex herself wasn't looking for a relationship either; she could barely hold a conversation for five minutes without sticking her foot in her mouth, so right at that moment she was quite proud of herself. She would be more than happy to have some time out with a friend. "Just the Gwee, right now," she answered his question, fingers tracing lines down the sweat on her glass of water, "between the wild and the domesticated. Oh, if you've seen Parfait, I gave her to Chloe to take care of. Oh yes, and Munchies. Such a sweet tempered girl." Whether the woman was speaking of the pink-haired receptionist or the Gwee, it was hard to say. She gave a little dismissive wave of her hand at the mention of the car, smiling in a charming manner, "It's no matter, there's nothing out by me anyway, so that sounds superb! I haven't been there yet myself."
So the Lab was being rebuilt in Gambino? She felt that was a good choice, although she couldn't rightly say why. Alex reached for her back pocket, only to realize she didn't have pockets in the sarong. Dangit, she knew she disliked these swim suits for a reason! "I don't have my card, I'm afraid," she apologized, slowly drawing her hand back to palm the glass, "but I'll find something to write my number on. You just let me know when you need a break, fair enough? But hey! More importantly, what's your favorite dessert?"
Her eyes shifted momentarily down the way, catching sight of a weary looking Lillian, but no sign of Tyson. Deja vu, she mused to herself; the first time she'd seen Kyou was when he was yelling at the boy for pulling his tail. Funny how things came around like that. She made a mental note to go say hello to the two once they were settled.

[[ Beach Bar ]] Altair grinned widely and let out a loud laugh as Zayne leapt out of his chair and stumbled around. "I got bored. So I decided to track you down. My car blew up, and all I had was my knickers! And I had to hitchhike with this crazy lot!" he exclaimed, leaning forward eagerly and excitedly. "There was this old guy, see. His little girl, must'a been five years old ..." he trailed off. Observing the crowd at the bar, he noticed, with Zayne's note of it, that there was a pie-eating contest. More importantly, however, he noticed some rather differrent looking people in the crowd. His eyes shot open wide and he leaned over the counter on his elbows to get closer to the rest of the people, and saw people, human beings, whose bodies ended abnormally early, most lacking stomachs and all lacking everything below the waist.
"Z-z-zayne!" he managed to get out of his gaping mouth after a few seocnds of dumbstruck awe. "What the hell are those?" He lowered his voice to a whisper with the latter comment, realizing how easily he could offend the bottomless people across the bar. "Cor blimey..." he quietly said, loud enough for only Zayne to hear, his eyes and mouth still wide open. "I've heard of topless bars...but never..." he trailed off, snickering and still utterly confounded.

Zayne arched an eyebrow at the odd story that Altair presented. Looking back at the past encounters that he had, however, it was probably true, too. "5-years old..? Man, Altair, you're a *****, aren't you?" Zayne sarcastically commented on said inventor's story with a rhetorical question and chuckled as the Altair finally noticed the raevans scattered around the party.
"Those, my dear friend, are Raevans. They're made of these unnatural essences that are bottled, and a soul that can be from practically anything that has a soul," Zayne put an arm around Altair and noogied his hat as well as the hair underneath, and continued "So the essence and soul somehow combine and create a raevan, which in time consumes the rune that you see glowing in their upper-aura area. Thats what I know at least." He smirked and rested his chin on his hands (with his arms in an upright position), and looked straight at the grown, red and silver haired raevan which was busy eating pie and staring at someone else's chest.

Damien flitted back into the crowd of people to get a better view. With his sneaky skills, he went under legs, in tiny spaces, and in doing so, he rolled a little to fast and bumped into a cat-eared raevan who was apparently floating near and silently cheering on a contestant nearby.
"Ah!! I-I-I'm sorry!" Damien backed away, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. This was his first encounter with an actual raevan, and his eyes grew wide at the up-close beauty of the mystical creatures that his guardian had described. His cheeks flushed at the rude way he had run-into the female raevan. "I-I guess that was too much.. I thought the table was further then that. Um, a-are you cheering someone on, then?" He continued, breaking the ice, stumbling over his words and forgetting to introduce himself. His nervousness was apparent though the stumbling and and neck rubbing; he hoped his actions hadn't ruined anything or offended the raevan.

Beach Bar: Pie contest
Melisande paused, one finger still in her mouth. She was getting full, there was no denying that. The tiny curve of her belly was obvious under her swim top! She didn't pause because she was full, though...for a moment, Pasha simply spaced out. She was getting a little sleepy, but there was still so much pie!
Eyes wide, she turned to glance down the row again...watching the others eat. In the crowd, she caught a dark flash, and realized suddenly that Lucia was smiling. At her! Melisande brightened considerably, and waved with her 'clean' hand. The contact seemed to give her a second wind, and she selected another pie.
She took one little bite, then another, but still couldn't place the flavor. Peering at it closely, Pasha gave the filling a poke. They seemed to be berries...but they were kind of blue/purple colored! Shrugging, Melisande decided to call this flavor 'blueberry,' even though she had no idea what it was really called!

Her eyes glinted deviously when David so boldly placed the hat, her hat, upon his own head and demanded a name before it was returned. She couldn’t help but note that he didn’t look half bad with it on. Though she quickly pushed the thought aside in light of the presenting of a challenge.
In all of her twenty-two years of life, Ebony had yet to meet her equal. Most of the men, well not really men, boys, that she’d met were either too intimidated or scared shitless of her. Of course there were very few instances, such as the boys from her dojo days and possibly the Delarans now, that didn’t fall into either of those categories. They were different because they were friends, not someone showing any sort of romantic or sexual motives.
“Sorry, this business takes before it gives.”
She tilted her head to the side cautiously while a slender digit tapped lightly against her chin in contemplative thought. It sounded like such a male thing to say, but damned if it didn’t also sound like something she’d say! Ebony gave a bemused smile, “A small price to pay, I suppose...I’m Ebony.”
