Akemi had wondered around long enough to poke at her temperment. She wasn't sure where she was going, all she knew was that she was looking for Hamma-Sensei from the day before. So far, she hadn't seen him anywhere. Walking around aimlessly lead her to see some people, none of which she knew, so she kept her distance from them as she kept looking around. After a little while she noticed one of the younger boys from her class, and decided she would just stick to the area, although keeping her distance and standing alone, her usual scowl on her face.

Hamma was a little late for his own class. He had a lot to drink the night before and his head was pounding. The green fairy could do that to the strongest of men. Walking through the lagoon his war hammer heaved over his shoulder and a metal case under his arm he was ready for class. Walking towards the waterfall he noticed the spunky girl from his class the other day. Casting a shadow over her he stood firm next to her. "Good to see ya again Raiken, today's class might cool you off some, lets see if you swim as good as you fight." Walking out into the grove he sat his hammer down next to a rock as he opened his metal case. "Alright ye two be the only ones today. Seems ye be the only ones wantin to get stronger. Well, its a contest today. Your objective is first to dive in this water and collect as many Kunai as possible. After you collect as many Kunai's as possible you are to sprint through the village and past the academy to the graveyard." With this Hamma used his massive strength to chuck Kunai into the water piercing the soft dirt at the bottom of the lagoon. "Oh, by the way you only have one breath to get as many Kunai as you can. Have fun"

Rokugi could feel the rumbling and shaking in the ground as Hamma stepped into the vicinity. His steps felt even heavier than normally somehow. He turned to look from where the man was coming and upon spotting him he as soon discovered the reason why he sounded so heavy. The man carried his hammer over his shoulder and a metal casing with him. " Hi sensei" Rokugi bowed in front of the great man and it was a the man spoke that he noticed that only two of them had arrived today to his class so far. The man had made of the training a contest now and although Rokugi wasn't fond of competitions he was going to try his best.
After the ma had explained well what the training consisted off, the boy walked over to the edge of the lagoon. Not even taking off his Shoes the boy jumped in into the water without a moments waste. He once again was up against a girl but he wouldn't give up or hold back this time. The water was cold in a refreshing kind of way but the afternoon light wasnt much of a help for vision. He needed to find as many Kunai as he could before he had to take air again. He wasnt sure if he had taken enough air but he tried not to think about that.

The sound of heavy footsteps was was gave the man away to Akemi. She had remembered that he was a rather large man, and his shadow sheltered her from some of the sunlight that filtered through the trees. So today was a contest... that would make things interesting. With Hamma-Sensei's have fun statement, the girl's lips curled a little as she took herself a running start, took a deep breath and dived right into the cool water. They had one breath to collect as many kunai as they could gather, and she was feeling ready to go and get this done. Afterall, she was just working against one other person, so it couldn't be that hard. She had no problem swimming with her eyes wide open, so it wasn't that hard for her to spot her first kunai and grab onto it.

Akemi smirked in the depths of the water as she got ahold of her first Kunai. This task wasn't going to be to terribly hard if she kept her head in the game. She began searching around the area around where she had found her first Kunai and was finding that she wasn't having much luck. Hamma-Sensei had done a decent enough job getting them to land in a wider area then she had thought... being semi stationary for too long she began to notice a slightly dull ache in her chest. That was when she noticed that she either needed to move or she would be forced to come up to breath, and that would mean that she only had one Kunai when she was sure the boy would have a better chance of finding more.

Akemi had been right, once she started moving through the water the dull ache started to not seem as prominent. She scanned her eyes over the muddy and murky water in search of another Kunai, and to her liking, she started to see the glint of the medal start to show up again. The looped end was poking out of the mud. She pushed off with her legs and pulled at the water around her to propel her forward enough so she could reach her arm out in front of her and grab the second kunai.

Natamo straightened as more people walked into her 'home'. Well, that was quite rude, after all. She growled, but said nothing. She looked down at Shinichi, over at Hamma, then at all the kids. "Well fu...dge." she muttered, stretching her shoulders and taking a few steps away from the crowd. She wouldn't be caught dead having her way with anyone, not in front of a bunch of minors. Oh well...
Even with her drinking buddies totally gone from the island (which...was really sad, actually...), Natamo felt the strong urge to go and get totally tanked. The sun was already setting, so she was only going to get a minor head start... so very minor...

With her second Kunai safely in her grasp, Akemi began turning her head slightly as she started searching for another. The whole point was to gather as many Kunai as she could and race back to the graveyard. So far she had two, but she was begining to feel the burn in her chest from lack of fresh oxygen in lungs. Holding her breath wasn't as hard as she was expecting, but she knew she could make a little more progress if she just kept pushing herself. She wasn't going to give up just yet...

The ache in her chest was what was keeping her going. The more she ignored it the more it would make itself known to her. She needed to focus on finding another Kunai. The merky water was getting harder to see through, but that didn't keep her from straining her eyes to find another sleek piece of metal in the muddy ground. She propelled herself forward a little more, and started feeling around at the bottom and after a few moments of searching and practically digging in the dirt, the sharp metal made a small slice in the palm of her hand. She didn't shy away from the weapon, but instead grabbed it and held it tight as she adjusted a few things and started placing the kunai in the tight pockets of her dreanched shorts to help keep her hands open.

She made sure all the pointed edges were placed facing up just out of her pockets, as to make sure she didn't stab herself in the leg as she swam along. The was the last thing she needed to deal with was a bleeding leg when she had to sprint to finish up the excersise that Hamma-Sensei had given to her and the boy. Which reminded her.. she hadn't run into the boy just yet down here in the water, and so she had to assume he was somewhere in a different part of the water... who knew... She began straining her eyes again and cought a small glint of the dark metal. Once she saw it, she cupped her hands to help propel her farther and faster towards the small weapon, wrapping her thin fingers around the neck of the small weapon, and pulling it out of the mud.

Akemi now had four collected. That was pretty decent considering she was still on her one and only allowed breath, and the ache in her chest was becoming more and more noticeable. This was getting harder... but she had to keep pushing on, and that is just what she did. She started to propel herself forward a little more, searching deeper into the water and when she saw another dark object against the lighter color of the mud, she picked up her speed a little bit and stuck a finger through the loop of kunai and pulled it up into her grasp.

Five kunai tight in her already tight pocket was making it rather hard to move her legs to kick through the water. She had to be careful because she didn't want to lose any of the ones she had received and then just have it all had been a waste of time. Without opening her lips, Akemi bit hard on her lower lip to keep herself from gasping for air as she pulled herself through the water. By keeping her legs a little straighter as she kicked, she was able to keep the five kunai in her left pocket. She looked up towards the surface and noticed that it had been getting dark for the frist times today. She hadn't noticed that when she dove in, but knowing that now just reminded her of the ache in her chest. As she turned herself over again, she saw another loop in the mud benieth her and reached down and grabbed tight of it.

Once she had her sixth kunai, she decided to arrange it into her other pocket. The tight materiel was hard to move while it was wet, so trying to shove the small weapon into it was difficult. Once it was in, Akemi cringed a little bit, the lack of oxygen was started to make her head hurt. She was getting tired and was beginning to think that it was time that she returned to the surface to take a deep breath, but as she gave a second thought to the idea, she saw another small glint and reached towards it and grabbed the neck of yet another kunai. She was starting to get surprised at how well she was doing!

Seven down... that had to be enough, more then the other boy at least, right? She was getting along well for the one breath, but it was getting harder and harder every time. Every time she would move her arms or kick her legs to move herself forward, it would use a little bit more of her precious, limited oxygen. And every time she used a little more, the more the ache would start to take over. She was doing well, and she refused to just give up, so she scanned the area around her instead of moving much farther. This helped to lesson the ache just a little bit, enough to clear her head so she could notice one more glitter or metal half hidden in the mud. She pushed herself hard towards it, and grabbed tightly onto the looped end of it.

With her eighth kunai safely tucked into her full pockets, Akemi started to look around to see if she could find another one. Even just one would be good, but the ache was taking over completly and it was giving her a blinding headache... So much for getting a ninth... but the burn was hurtting too much and she gasped on her way back up to the surface, getting some water into her lungs. As her head broke the water, she splashed around a little as she coughed up some of the water that she had swollowed. Gasping for the fresh air, the girl started pulling herself to the water's edge, being careful not to let the kunai in her pocket harm her.
