Aneisa wasn't sure she liked the idea of having to fit those stone guardians again, but she wasn't going to stay behind either. "Alright, but since we know what's on the other side of the door, we should probably be prepared for the same thing on this side, right? I mean, if we follow Alex's theory of things."

Jessica thought for a moment. "Well, it is possible it could be something bigger and/or stronger on the other side too." she said, "Prepare yourself of everything and anything, You never know what could happen in an ancient ruin."

Alex just walked through the corridor, taking his time to check the corridor for anythingthing loose. Mostly to avoid traps for everyone else. Using his gargoyle-like claws, he crawled on the roof for a bit, just for the upmost safety.
He made his way to the statue, knowing there were no traps. "It's ok, come on down!" He told them., his voice echoing throughout the hallways.

Aneisa took a deep breath to calm her nerves. It wasn't that she didn't trust Alex, but she wasn't too sire about anything in this tomb. They had already been nearly killed twice since coming down here, no to mention those dinosaurs in town the other day. But since no one else was volunteering to go first, she decided she might as well lead the way. "Alright. Cone on guys. We're not getting our job done sitting here." She started to go after Alex, hoping the others would follow.

Baylor followed eagerly behind Aneisa. "So, why are you guys searching for the crystal skulls?" Baylor asked, hoping to break the tense atmosphere. "Money? Against your free will? Power? Save the world perhaps?"

Aneisa wasn't sure how much they should reveal to Baylor, seeing they'd only know him a few minuets. But he already knew that they were gargoyles, or at least, half. It was better to tell him the truth than having him think that they were treasure hunters or that they were being exploited. She supposed that to a point, it could be argued that they were being exploited, but it wasn't like it was truly against their will. "Well, more to save the world, I guess. Actually, the original idea was that we'd be able to use them to free the gargoyles from their sleep. You see, we aren't true gargoyles. We're just normal people that were drawn to three different stone gargoyles at different castles. When we touched them, their souls were transfered into us. So now, at night, we turn into these half human, half gargoyle things and during the day, we're just our selves. And we're stuck like this till we can find a way to free the gargoyles from the curse that was put on them 1000 years ago. Not that I'm really complaining. Saraphina's really nice, and I'd like to stay friends once we're separated, but it's not fair to them to be trapped like this, and, to be honest, being up all day as me and all night as... us, is really starting to wear me out."

"Hm..." Baylor said, thinking. It was a bit confusing to him, but he could sympathize with them wanting to get the gargoyles free. "Ok. What about if I helped you free these gargoyles, perhaps?" He proposed. "After all, I'm searching for the same crystal skulls so I can save the world, so I guess we could be considered comrads to an extent, right?

Aneisa gave Baylor a side-long look. "Well, I suppose so. I mean, as soon as we've freed them, I don't think we'll have any use for them any more. Of course, I'm not really the one you'd need to talk to. Alex is kind of the leader, and Demona's the hot-head of the group with the anti-human rage problems."

After tapping on the statue, he examined it for any points that would operate by pushing it. "Ok, just gimme a sec.." He said as he looked all over the statue, eventually leading to the jewel on it's bellybutton. 'Aha, here we go!" He said as he pressed it. The statue began to move halfway down, and the wall behind them snapped up, shutting them inside the room. He then saw an arm reaching out from the floor. "This can't be good.." He said to himself.

Jessica looked at Baylor. "You know how dangerous removing two souls from one body is right?" she asked. She looked around when the wall snapped up. "Now what?" she asked no one.

Aneisa gave Serrenedy a confused look. Who had said anything about removing two souls from one body? She thought the plan was to remove the gargoyle soul from the human body and return it to their own, newly un-petrified bodies.
Unfortunately, she didn't have much time to think about it, because at about that moment that the wall slammed closed and the arm shot out of the floor. "Oh s**t!! Um, Sara, if you wouldn't mind?"
"Of course not, Dear." Without another word, the two swapped control. "Alright, Alex. Any idea what's going on here?"

Jessica saw her confused look and said, "I meant, you have to remove both souls from the body before you can put one back, and one into a new one." she explained to her, "So basically you have to remove both souls."

Serrenedy screamed, Demona took control "What did you do!? human" She demanded as she clawed up the wall and away from the thing, grabbing Baylor with her tail as she climbed to makesure he didn't get hurt

Aneisa heard the explanation, but didn't have time to respond.
Saraphina watched Demona cuss at Alex, then grab Baylor and jump for cover. "Demona! We need you down here. Find a place to put Baylor in safety then come back down here. Unless, of course, you want to stay trapped in here for the rest of your life. Which, with no food or water, will be about a week. That's assuming, of course, that one of these traps doesn't kill you first." Saraphina figured that playing to Demona's sense of self preservation might work.
