"C'mon you guys, you don't have to be so slow." Jounouchi said teesingly as he marched ahead towards the restaurant, "Am I the only one who's hungry?" "As usual you probably are..." Anzu said rolling her eyes.

Yuugi smiled a bit, glad to see his friends acting a bit more like normal, before dropping back to Ryou in his normal reaction of putting all others before himself. "Are you ok?" he asked quietly, eyes seeking Ryou's as he spoke, hands behind his back.

As Ryou followed and Yugi fell back, he tilted his head at the question. "As well as can be expected," he replied softly, looking at him. "How about you?"

Anzu glanced back at the two boys, biting her lip. She wondered what was harder; losing someone who was part of you or losing someone you loved. No matter what though, this had to be hard on all of them. She wished Atem was back...

Yuugi closed his eyes, taking a deep breath before answering. "I... even though it hurts, I'm not going to let it weigh me down." He smiled softly. "Mou hitori- ...Atemu wouldn't want that. I need to be strong, so he can be proud of me...." When his eyes opened up again, there was determination shining within them. 'No matter how much it hurts.'

"I don't know if he would want you to bottle it all up though," he replied carefully, looking down. However, he knew both of them would continue to do so. It was just too hard to try to explain, no one else could possibly understand.

((I feel kinda weird posting so quickly in a row, but it IS a conversation. ^^;; ))
Yuugi was caught off guard a bit, though there was truth to Ryou's words. He sighed softly. "What else can I do? There will always be that hole inside me... but...." He closed his eyes. "But even with that, it doesn't mean I can't experience happiness anymore." He opened them, turning the large violet orbs towards Ryou. "And the same goes for you," he added gently.
He looked up, realizing they had reached their destination.

(Ah well, c'est la vie)
Ryou just looked at him, a slightly hollow laugh escaping him. "Keeping it all bottled up would make him happy, not experiencing joy is just an effect of it," he spoke far too calmly for such words, tilting his head up at the restaurant sign.

((ADK is confused. Is Ryou reffering to Yami Bakura, and that he'd be made happy by Ryou's holding everything in?))

((ZOMG I'm late! gonk Okay, so if this post is effed up, dont hesitate to correct me. sweatdrop And I think Malik would be the one for Ryou, correct? ^^'))
The Egyptian sighed, a hollow expression plastered on his sunkissed face. He gazed absentmindedley at the pavement beneath him, purposely letting his sand-colored locks to droop over his face as he walked through the semi-darkened streets of Domino City.
It felt weird, to say the least. Being back in these oddly familiar streets caused unwanted memories to rush through the jaded Egyptian's mind. He didn't want them--it was all over.
The Ishtar legacy that had carried on for thousands of years... Was finally over. Atemu, the pharoah, had triumphed over the darkness and retirved his long lost memories of his past-life.
Sighing audibly, Malik Ishtar picked his head up, emotionless lilac eyes--which were now fading into a darker shade of amethyst with the evening sky--scanning the semi-crowded sidewalk for a familiar face... Not that any familiar face would want to ecnounter the ex-psycho.
Sometimes the Ishtar was thrown into a sudden state of confusion; loneliness; Feelings so familiar yet so unwanted to the Ishtar. He came back to Domino, Japan.... but why? What did he think he would accomplish?
Nothing. he retorted to his own hectic thoughts. Truthfully... he was free. No longer a tombkeeper--yet still a forever bounded prisoner to his own memories. He came to Domino to start fresh. He had already apologized many, many times for the actions he had done in Battle City.
Now, he was just looking for some company. Reluctantly his two older siblings had approved of Malik to start fresh; To go new places and try new things. His darker half was gone for good, so what could go wrong.... right?
Sighing again, he passed a small resturaunt with the awful stench of meat portruding from it--A scent the vegitarian detested. he glanced in there scornfully and was more than shocked to see 'the gang' of dogooders just entering the 'Burger World'.
Blinking, the Egyptian wondered if he should go in and say hello.
Just act natural... he thought sheepishly, entering a few moments after Yuugi, Jou, Anzu, and the rest went in.

An thin eyebrow rose in a slight surprise of seeing them, of all people, here. Of course, they'd probably be just as taken aback with his presence. It didn't look it, but Seto actually quite liked fast food. He acquitted it to treating Mokuba so often.
Pleasant memories aside, the young businessman was hoping that the childish group of friends wouldn't notice him and leave him be. He didn't need them adding on to his problem working.
'They'd run over and continue with their friendship banter,' Seto thought irritatedly.
He chanced another glance at the group, this time noticing their downcast air behind the charade of their usual antics. That piqued his curiosity slightly.
He bit into his food again, pushing the absurd thought of confronting them out of his mind. A little issue with them wasn't worthy of attention. He'd just finish his lunch and leave. Simple as that.
Or so he hoped.

Malik entered shyly, the annoying 'ding ding' of the small bell on the door making his presence known. The Egyptian immediatley looked down, staring at the tiled floor as if it were the most wonderous thing in the world. Peeking up sheepishly, Malik could spot the slightly melancholy group of friends huddled around a table.
Funny, he thought, I would have expected them to be in a bit more brighter spirits. Atemu had finally gained back his memories, so why the long faces?
Of course the youngest Ishtar would have never understood the relationship between Yami and Yuugi, considering the way he and his own darker half were. So the thought of Yuugi missing his 'other self' was not something that passed the Egyptian's mind.
He did a double take, though, when he thought he saw a familiar, arrogant looking brunette pass the corner of his eye. Peeking up a little higher he was suprised and to say the least, slightly amused to see Seto Kaiba at a fast food joint.
Letting out a silent snicker, the Egyptian knew damn well he wasnt going to approach him, of all people. They had barely said two things to each other during and after Battle City; considering it was his darker half in control 75% of the final time. Still, it was amusing.

"Then be happy for yourself." Yuugi said firmly, and gave Ryou a small smile. "You deserve it." He turned his attention to the menu as they seated themselves, though he already knew what he wanted- a hamburger of course, he loved hamburgers, as well Jounouchi knew- as well as a chocolate milkshake and some fries. After a brief glance, he set the menu down again. Seeing his friends still debating, he decided to distra- er, entertaim himself by people watching instead. His gaze drifted across the room, and he blinked in surprise. Seto? Malik?! Was something going on around here he didn't know about...? 'Burger World isn't holding any duels right now, is it?' He couldn't help but thinking. A bit paranoid, perhaps, but when all of them came together, it usually involved shadow games and people getting hurt, or worse. 'No more shadow games,' he reminded himself firmly. 'The items are gone,' he grasped at the nothingness at his chest again. 'All of them...' He smiled at a certain blond, tanned egyptian, who happened to be approaching them. "Malik! What brings you here? I thought you didn't like meat..."
((HAha, ADK just realized something that she'd like to pretend was her plan all along. Remember when the place collapsed underground? What if that was ATZ Corp's doing? XD Then the items woudln't be gone.... Just a thought, of course.))

((Oh wow, that's an awsome idea! I like it. 3nodding )) Jounouchi looked up from his menu in surprise upon hearing Yuugi shout "Malik." He blinked once as he spotted the Egyption, "Whoah, hey Malik!" he said. "What brings you here?" Anzu asked curiously as she looked up from her menu as well.
