Silver was preparing beds for them? That was great. Her thoughts were still racing but her muscles were feeling heavy. She was sure that sleep would come to her quickly. A duel? After the battle that they had Silver shouldn’t be fighting! None of them should be. These next few days were to be use for rest, recuperation and further planning. But the thing that caught her attention the most was what he said about the villagers.

“What? Didn’t they see what that thing looked like and the damaged it caused?” she said, her voice raising in disbelief.

She took a deep breath and calmed herself. She wouldn’t take it out on Leon, he was only saying what he inferred.

“Blade will be alright. Her injuries are now in a manageable stage and that white mage, of his name is Laquemil, will watch over her until I go back to see Blade tomorrow.”

She looked Leon over as she spoke. She had been so worried about Blade that she hadn’t gotten a chance to look at anyone else. She was the healer of the group, she may not have the power right now, but she still new the technique to healing. Besides, she had stuff in her bag at Silver’s home.

“How are you feeling?”

She wanted to ask about this duel that Silver was supposed to have tomorrow but she could ask later. If she could she would get the answer from the half elf woman herself.

"They seem to believe what they saw today was a large demon of some sort. Nothing more. Don't worry, I had a similar reaction, though the ignorance of others is not exactly my problem." he said, responding to Doina's first response. "It warms my heart that Blade will be alright, but I would still like to see if that white mage (Laquemil was it?) could use an herbologist. It's rare to see a white mage around these parts..." he said. "As far as I go, I have a headache the size of Tidal and my jug is empty of it's peace-bringing elixir, but I'll be alright. I'm disappointed I wasn't able to do more.damn thing knocked me out, which is rare for my kind." he said, gesturing to his jug and tinge of depression in his voice. His injuries were obviously more to his pride than to his body."The mages seem more fatigued than anything else. How's the kid?" Leon wanted to make sure to keep his deal intact. "Well, in any case, you look tired. You should go get some sleep." he said finally, raising a hand to keep her from answering his questions "My questions can wait for morning, if they aren't answered before then."

Well, the Spawn were as close to demons as anything in this world could be. So she could see that. Still though, whatever you believed them to be the only thing that mattered was that they were dangerous needed to be destroyed. She would have been happy to answer his questions but he held his hand up and suggested her to get some rest.

She supposed that she should. If she waited any longer to rest it would be even more difficult for her to get out bed the next day. She nodded to his suggestion.

“Alright then. If I am asleep when you return than I shall see you in the morning.” she said before continuing towards Silver’s home.

Coming upon the house she saw the boy standing outside the door, shivering. She placed her hand on his shoulder and with the other she grasped the doorknob of the house opening it.

“Come on, you look cold.”

She would see how Seraphis and Silver were doing, then she would look through her bag of clothes and look for something for Blade to wear. On her walk back to Silver’s home she realized that the other woman had gotten all her clothing from her shadows. An odd but interesting technique. So Doina would have to let the other woman borrow some of her clothing.

‘But I get the feeling that with her figure…my clothing really won’t fit her.’

Feeling just a tad bit depressed she sighed to herself. After she settled the clothing issue she would look at her dress and see if she could fix it. She was not a seamstress, and fixing the damage to her dress would take a master one.

"Sweet dreams." Leon called over his shoulder. He was becoming sober again, which was a sad and sorry sight for him.

As he approached the temple he saw a great deal of activity. It disturbed him slightly to see so many wounded, but it wasn't the first time he had seen it, as it was for many there. Among the bustle, there stood one solitary figure in white robes speckled in blood and wearing a mask. He could think of no other person who could be the white mage Doina had mentioned. Leon chose to approach the figure. "I take it you're, erm... Lakemill? No, that's not it. Well, anyway, I met Doina on the way here, and I'm guessing you're the white mage she mentioned. Um... How's Blade? Is there anything I can do to help? I'm an herbologist and subordinate of hers. Name's Leon." he said quickly. He usually wasn't so nervous, but in such crowded quarters and being less intoxicated than usual, his nerves were more on edge.

Seraphis listened closely to Silver's internal dilemma. It wasn't a major one, but he was slightly taken aback by his own thoughts. It would be a lie to say that he didn't think of sharing that bed with her. What surprised him the most was the fact that it was the first thought that crossed his mind. By and large a very polite person, Seraphis would have normally offered to take the uncomfortable sofa or to sleep on a bedroll. Had it been so long that even his subconscious cried out for the soft embrace of a woman? As Silver looked away and flushed, Seraphis absently allowed his gaze to wander over her form. Her tan skin... Round face... Pale hair... Slender curves... It was almost more than he could bear... Then he came back to earth, blinked and shook his head slightly, clearing his thoughts. Too soon... Far too soon. They barely knew each other. He bitterly choked back the primal desires welling within him and opened his mouth to speak.

"I am willing to take the sofa," he said in an almost resigned tone... What could it hurt? It was sharing a bed, not consummation. "But, if it's not too forward," he added softly, a blush reaching his cheeks, "we could share the master bed." Seraphis glanced at Silver for her reply, too caught up in his own repressed embarrassment to notice that Doina and Falconer were now standing in the doorway.

The wall wasn't exactly comfortable, nor was the floor. Either way, he was tired and was used to sleeping in places like this. His eyes had closed, breathing slowed, and his head was resting against his knees. He was almost asleep, up until....

"-Lakemill?"

'' The bleached blond elf moved his head a little before looking up. He blinked for a few moments to see an Ibixian towering above him, speaking in gibberish. Why did everyone in this area only speak human? Laquemil took a few second to recollect himself before reaching up and pulling his mask off. He paused in setting his mask down on the floor when he heard the name Doina and Blade. Ah, so he must be one of the members of Feritae's party.

"[I'm sorry, but I don't understand human.]" Laquemil stated, stiffling a yawn before pushing himself off from the floor. He had to wait a few moments before he stood up fully, rubbing the small bridge between both of his eyes. "[If you're asking about Lady Blade, she's currently resting. I'm sure that the people of this church have done everything in their powers to help her. Right now all that she needs is rest.]" He kept his eyes low still, as his eyes still hadn't readjusted fully to the light. "[And my name is Laquemil.]" He moved his head up a bit more now, steel-metallic eyes focusing on Leon's face for a moment before looking back down to the floor. His eyes were burning. "[I would suggest just getting some sleep right now. Unless you're here for treatment to injuries...? I am a white mage."

Leon sighed as he recognized the common mistaken Ibixian accent. It annoyed him at times. He nodded to Laquemil at the correction of the name. "" he said, eloquently in perfect elven. ""
PostPosted: Thu May 22, 2008 9:18 pm

His accent had been off? Laquemil frowned at this, severely disappointed with himself. Immediately his mind worked at his mistakes- he must have been using an accent for a different tongue. He worked hard at perfecting each language that he learned, how could he have made a mistake...?

"" Laquemil answered, putting his mask back on as it seemed as if Leon would not insulted if he wore it. "" He pointed over to where he had sent Doina, mentally sensing that the shadow-user was still there. "" Feritae was a gentle lady, but certain things could make her punch anyone strait in the face. ""

With that said he stepped back and sank back down, leaned up against the wall again. Sleep was gnawing on him, trying to pull him back so that he could sleep once more. It was the price he paid for using up so much magic, but it couldn't be helped with Feritae's condition. ""

Leon stifled a laugh. A perfectionist was in his midst. He didn't mind though. " [Like this.]" Leon said, switching languages more easily that should be possible."[In any case, thank you for the information and the offer. If you would like a more comfortable place to stay, another member of the party has a house here and I'm sure we could arrange something.]" he said, worried for the man. It was obvious that he was exhausted and doing everything he could for Blade. it gave him a good feeling, something he desperately needed at the moment. It also made him want to help Laquemil so he could be even more rested.

... People? In the Church... In his Church there were people hiding out. But from what? Tidal? No, It couldn't be... but he felt them. He knew they were there. He slowly stood from his position in a silent prayer at the Altar towards the far back of the Church. He stood in the darkness, his body swaying lightly. He looked like a symbol of Yin and Yang. His entire costume was split into white and black, with opposite colored accessories on the opposite side. At his hip stood the scabbard and hilt of a Greatsword, his robes also concealed dual daggers within its many folds. His hood covered his face in darkness and a black and white face cover covered what the darkness could not, leaving only space for his eyes, nose, and mouth.

His eyes... Yes, his eyes. A deep, dark green, a great contrast with his outfit let others out there know that he was a true mortal. They spoke to those around them a note of coldness, yet those eyes also showed yearning. A deep yearning for something untold, something unknown to those around him. He did not speak, so he could not tell them, for speaking his mind would disrupt the containment runes that littered his clothing, it was these runes that kept him from going insane, that kept him from Schizophrenia. It was his own willpower that kept this containment strong, and until then he would have to be strong for all those around him.

Share a bed? Her and Seraphis? Instantly Silver's cheeks turned red at the thought. Mind out of the gutter, she scolded herself. Growing up among soldiers hadn't left her pure minded. She knew very well what would be thought of them if they shared a bed. But... They were among friends, right? No one would think anything bad of them. And to be honest with herself, she had become used to having his warmth near her when she slept. No doubt the night would be long for both of them if they were to be seperated. But how could she tell him that all she was interested in was sleep...?

"The sofa really is horrible..." she told him, though an image of her mother, comatose, on one of the sofas flashed through her mind. "And I don't mind. After all, we've been sleeping beside each other on the road up here." She sent a mental prayer that he caught the subtle hint that all she was interested in was sleep. With a gentle squeeze of her hand around his, she released her grip and headed up stairs, using the banister partially for support and balance. She paused half way up and turned to look over her shoulder to see if he was following.

(I'm back.)

An odd feeling came over him at that point, standing there in the doorway of 2 Sword's house as conversations continued on around him about sleeping arrangements and people sleeping with one another. It was as if...some force out there in the multiverse hadn't done anything about his character at all for several days on end due to school and life and had just started to write about him again while awkwardly attempting to fit back into...something.

He shook the feeling off as sleepyness settled in. Mage Boy was saying something about sharing the master bed with 2 Swords, then something about the sofa...he marched on in after muttering a quick "Thank you" to Healer before realising that his clothes were still wet.

"Well I can hardly sleep in these can I?" he drawled out sleepily. "Say...you wouldn't happen to have any...I don't know...dry clothing that's somewhat comfortable?"

"And the sofa is mine. Mage, go...go with 2 Swords there before she collapses from lack of sleep."

With that, he collapsed, asleep before his hand bounced off the sofa and onto the floor, where he lay, snoring quietly to himself while muttering things about "cardboard boxes" and "cute knight girls..."

Seraphis had gotten Silver's subtle hints, however, they weren't necessary. Though he could not deny his desires, he could damn well suppress them, which had been his intent from the beginning. Above all else, he was an honorable man and, despite the abruptness of the beginning of their relationship, he intended to court her properly before attempting to actually 'bed' with her. He glanced at Falconer as he spoke. He couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the boy's antics. Despite the annoyance he had been since the beginning of this journey, the boy did have some endearing qualities. He was tenacious too. Seraphis recalled the boy running toward the spawn with nothing but a sock with a rock in it. Yes, he had tenacity, but lacked form and technique. Perhaps he could convince Blade or Leon to teach the boy something about that. As for himself, Seraphis was all thumbs when it came to melee weapons and Falconer seemed to have an adversity to magic, so that was out. He shrugged. It would have to wait until later. As it was, he was dead tired and needed rest. He moved to the corner of the room where he had left his travel pack, shouldered it, and followed Silver up the stairs.

As they reached the top of the last flight of stairs, Seraphis had just thought of something that sent a blush to his cheeks. He hadn't packed any bedclothes for this journey! All he had was his travel garments and his undergarments (which consisted of nothing more than a simple loin cloth). He supposed he could wear his black robe to bed... But that would be very awkward and uncomfortably hot. He glanced at Silver and stopped her as they reached the door. She had a right to know and he didn't want her getting the wrong idea about him.

"I just remembered," Seraphis said shyly, his face turning a deep shade of red, "I hadn't packed any bedclothes for the journey. All I have to sleep in is my undergarments." He paused awkwardly and then said quickly, "I could sleep in one of my robes if you prefer."

Well then, the conversation she walked in on was…interesting. Before her thoughts turned into something else she made herself focus on the tasks she had to do.

‘Find Blade some clothes, look through your salves and ointments, then go to bed. Right…’

Silver headed upstairs and Doina coughed slightly, the get rid of the feeling of awkwardness. Well for herself at least. She looked over at Falconer as he walked passed her, muttering a thanks before falling onto the couch and going to sleep. Once Seraphris headed upstairs she would be alone with her thoughts.

It was something that unnerved the purple haired elf. She had never really been left alone before. Even when she was sleeping she usually had the comfort of another nearby. Even when she started out with this group she was around Blade and the other woman provided interesting and entertaining company.

Sleep might not come as easy to her as she thought. She went in search for her bag, finding it in the other room, she wasn’t sure if she left it there or not. Taking it she went into the kitchen and sat at the table she rummaged through her bag and took out her salves. She did this to give Seraphris time to go up and follow after Silver. The mage had seemed to embarrassed when Falconer and herself came in. She heard foot steps on the stairs, signaling Seraphris ascent after Silver.

She took stock of what she had and what could be on use to Blade and the others. She had a bottle of a clear salve for cuts and scrapes, a thick pasty white one for bruises and an assortment of others in different colored vials and bottles. Choosing a few of them she put the rest back and searched through the rest of the bag. She was going to look for some clothing for Blade once she got into one of the rooms upstairs. She would probably have to dump everything out and look at it critically to figure which would fit the figure of the leader.

But right now she searched to the bottom of her bag and took out the old wooden box of hers. Setting her bag on the floor she set the box on the kitchen table and opened it. She sat there for awhile staring at the articles of the box and touching them. She finally picked up the silver dagger her brother had left her and ran her finger along the hilt and the blunt end of the blade. Sighing she placed the dagger back in the box, closing it and locking it before resting her head against it. Her eyes were closed tightly and laced her hands together under the table to keep them from shaking.

"And nothing of mine will fit me..." Silver said, stunned as she realized what was going on. "Not to mention Rose has all my travel clothes..." Biting her lower lip in thought, she went over what was in the house. All of the bedroom closets would be empty, both Red's and her own clothes put in trunks and taken to the-. "The storage room, of course." She rolled her eyes at her own foolishness. "My..." she had to take a breath before she could continue, "My mother's things should fit me, and I believe Mother put some of Father's things in there," she told Seraphis. "It's right here, across the hall." Moving to the other door, the door easily swung up at her insistance, and she gingerly made her way inside.

For a storage room, it was incredibly neat, if a little compact. Against the same wall as the door was a crib, disassembled with the mattress and a trunk just in front of it. The window on the opposite wall was covered with a linen curtain, simple and plain. Hanging on each side of the window was a rack, holding several swords and daggers, the hilts of the various swords all having the same crescent moon and dragon design as most of the metal work in the house. Stacked against the right wall was a leaf and spare chairs for the kitchen, as well as an old book case, curtainly filled with old leather-bound books on ancient magic. The other side held six trunks stacked in two columns, each brown with gold trim, labeled by a band of branded leather around the left handle.

Crouching down and reading each label, Silver found her old clothes to be on top, her mother's beneath it and her father's on the very bottom, in both piles. Blowing a stray strand of hair out of her face in tired annoyance, she pulled and managed to move the top trunk down. Not even bothering to open it, she pulled her mother's over on top of it, freeing the two needed trunks so they can be opened. She dragged her father's out from behind the other two, so Seraphis could dig through it and find what he needed. Silver ran the back of her hand over her forehead, catching her breath. The fight with the water spawn and summoning the giant wolf had left her exhausted physically and mentally. Dragging these trunks around was not helping. With obvious reluctance, she turned to her mother's things. Opening the common enough latch, she took a deep breath as it opened. Rose, when she packed the trunk, had inserted packets of sweat pea, her mother's favorite scent. All of the clothes smelled strongly of it, bringing tears to her eyes. "I'm too tired..." she muttered, wiping at her eyes before quickly pulling out what she assumed to be a plain, white cotton nightdress. She shut the lid of the trunk as quickly as she could, not wanting to get caught up in memories again.
