"I smell a mouse" Autumnpaw mewed. "Too bad I can't eat it." she added. She scented again, "I smell a vole!" She excitedly got into the hunter's crouch and stalked toward it. Once she reached it she pounced, catching it before it could scamper away. She buried it then looked at Lionheart, waiting for his response.

Lionheart's chest puffed up with pride. "Great catch!" he mewed, excited for an apprentice that wasn't even his. "Now, let's keep going. Keep your senses alert." He padded farther into the forest. Without glancing back he mewed, "If you smell anything, don't be afraid to go after it. I won't stop you." With that, he lifted his nose and slipped into a bush finding the scent of a mouse and killing it swiftly. He padded back to where Autumnpaw was and buried his prey.
Dustcloud sniffed the air. "Vole," he whispered, shrinking down into a hunters crouch. He quickly targeted the location of his prey and stalked it carefully. He held perfectly still then pounced at the right moment, killing his catch with ease. "Now... where is my next prey?" he mumbled sniffing the air once more.

Spicepelt padded into camp, a mouse in his mouth. She put it on the fresh-kill pile and fell asleep, having not slept much the night before.

Autumnpaw scented the air, searching for prey. She scented a mouse and stalked toward where it was. She crouched down and lunged for the small mouse but miscalculated her jump and fell short of the mouse. The mouse, aware of her presence, scurried off into a hole in the ground. "Fox dung" she spat as she slowly went back to where Lionheart was. "I missed it" she mewed.

Lionheart smiled. "It's okay. Just remember to step softly and understand your strength. You don't have as strong of legs as Blizzardpaw, but you do have speed. Take advantage of that." he mewed, knowing she was determined to get it right. Time. That's all it would take.

Grassfur sat in the elders den, waiting for food. He was getting hungry. Where were those lazy apprentices?! They would probably become warriors before they dragged a mouse in here for poor Grassfur. He stuck his head out of the den. "Where's my fresh-kill?" he yowled. "It isn't going to waltz in here by itself, you know!"

Bronzepaw's head shot up, hearing Grassfur's yowl. She grabbed a plump and juicy mouse, and brought it over to Grassfur carefully. "H-Hi." She mewed, setting it down.
Spicepelt watched Bronzepaw, and looked at the sky. She was so, so bored.

Grassfur purred in amusement. "Thank you," he said. Friendily swishing his tail over Bronzepaw's ear. He dragged the mouse inside the elders den, then turned back to her. "Have you eaten yet?" he asked.

Bronzepaw nodded slowly. "Not much to do when you're stuck in camp." Her tail was flattened from the Thunderpath, and smiled. "So yeah, I ate a mouse." She padded back out, and sat near the apprentice's den. "I feel like an elder." She complained.

Grassfur nodded, then shifted his gaze to Spicepelt, who was sitting in the middle of the clearing looking like there was nothing to do. "Hey! Make yourself useful and get off of your butt! Why don't you go hunting and help?" It was just his typical grouchiness making a show of itself. Even though there was a trace of amusement in his voice.

Spicepelt laughed and pointed with her tail at the fresh-kill pile. She mewed kindly, "Grassfur, we can't kill all the prey in the forest. I have hunted today, and there is a hunting patrol out." She flicked her tail, glancing at Bronzepaw. "Which she wanted to be a part of."

'Well, there is probably more for you to do than stare at clouds," Grassfur purred. Grassfur looked over at the somber apprentice. "She'll be well soon enough. It's hard for apprentices to be cooped up."

Spicepelt twitched her ears. "Perhaps there's more for you to do than stare at clouds." She mewed laughingly, and got up. She went in the warrior's den to sleep.
Bronzepaw looked at the sky.

Scarhead continued to follow the scent trail and came across a mouse. He dropped into a hunter's crouch, closing in on the mouse, his paws skimming the ground, when he thought he shouldn't get any close he sprang, but missed. "Fox Dung!" He hissed at himself.
(How long is it going to be leaf-bare? Hasn't been a few moons already?)

((It's late leafbare. It should change season in a few days.))
Gassfur rolled his eyes and turned to nibble on his mouse. It was surprisingly tasty for late leafbare, which made him happy. Most leafbare mice were stringy, and he would spend hours picking them out of his teeth.
((The funny thing is I have something stuck in my teeth right now... It's really annoying.))
