Does anybody know if there's a difference between the previous Chimera and the current one? I have the opportunity to get two for a fairly good price but they're the older ones. I don't want them to stand out when the rest of my Chimeras are the new type.

When I saw the picture of the Punisher, I almost "Squee"'d.
Serebrate, I'm not sure of the difference between the old cut of Chimera and the current, but the next generation recut of the Chimera is going to be a bit taller from what I've heard.

I don't want them to stand out when the rest of my Chimeras are the new type. The new Chimeras aren't out for a long time and even then it might just be a re-cut of the current sprues with some minor cosmetic changes. Most the re-cut is done to make the model easier to assemble and more friendly. This is the proposed Hellhound / Devildog upgrade that would come with the new Chimera kit: Slimmer sides, a larger turret and a different frontal glacis. This is however just a design, GW has mentioned several times that certain designs may never be made, but were just done to test the possibilities of their software. edit. I forgot: This May will open up the 18 month release window of the Imperial Guard, meaning that all their waves will be done in the 18 months following May 2009. The proposed Russ and Chimera redesigns are slated for wave 2, of which the current release date is unknown. Possibly the end of this year or somewhere around 2010.

I personally love the look of Steel Legion models, and am fine with their current style. It's just...the only thing of 'em that bugs me is that they only come in pewters. Same on the Mordian Iron Guard and the others. But...eh. That's a problem that will likely never see a remedy.
On good news, my local games store is discussing the possibility of us all pitching in together to make a few Warlord titans. Should be fun.

WOW. A French Imperial Guard reference sheet leak. Wow. Wow. Wow. Look at that. Look at those vehicles, look at those special characters. Al'rahem and Chenkov are back! Penal Legionnaires are confirmed, Hellguns are AP3, Ogryn are T5, they even got Marbo and Moghol Kair, an Attilan character.

Jason Da Psycho Wow wow wow wow wow. Hellguns, ap3??? Inquisitorial Storm Troopers look hell more usable now. It doesn't work like that. Imperial Guard storm troopers get AP 3, all other codex books with hellguns stay at AP 5. Just look at the marine codex and the wargear discrepancies between that and the Dark Angels and Black Templars codex.

I know a little French and one can understand a lot from that list by looking at the stats and names. Not every language has a direct translation for something. Radiant laser = brighter than a regular laser = hellgun. Plus the weapon name is also mentioned as a pistol version, the hellpistol.

In other words, its a lasgun, which kills Marines... Wow. And I bet they are a hell lot cheaper than marines.
