I think this is the first time the band's ever flew somewhere, I think last time they drove to Disney. That would be horrible...nine hours to Boston was bad enough for me. D=

@Tuba: I've been to Disney like three or four times ever. Lol I think we went to Universal twice.

We went to Disney freshman year for band. It was actually awesome. 8D
@Terra: What part of VA do you guys go to? surprised
Yeah we drove to Disney...basically a day on the bus, round trip.
MarioKart DS, chocolate, and sucky sattelite reception + lame movies the colorguard made us watch. It was awesomee....minus Hairspray and She's The Man.
We might be going to Puerto Rico for our trip this year. I don't know why my director thinks that's a good idea, but he does. :l
So if he actually plans it out we'll be going there. Woo. The one band trip where we'll be allowed to swim.

I don't think I could handle driving to Disney, even if it's on a bus instead of in the cramped car I go in to visit my grandma. xd Nine hours to Boston was bad enough for me. We watched good movies, though. =D Iron Man, 21, uh...other stuff... xd We were gonna watch Across The Universe, but then we didn't. >_>
I'm not sure where we go, but it's only a couple hours away, so it's probably northern VA.

We drove to Florida once...that was terrible. We took a train back xD
The bus was great compared to that.

Our marching band might be going to Spain Oo
Our orchestra went to China over the summer, the marching band marched London's new years parade in 06.
I was supposed to go to europe with the wind ensemble and jazz band over the summer but that fell through.

Way to make Disney feel like it's nothing for me. xd I wanna go to Europe! That would be awesome! I guess I'll have to save stuff like that for college, though.
I wish we could march like that in parades. D= That looks so fun. The only moving around that we get to do, other than the marching, is just this little thing at the end of our cadence.

we do a bunch of stuff on the way to the field, lots of inappropriate stuff xD
My section, the hoochies (euphs) make fun of the dawgpound (trombones) the entire time.
I started a tradition of doing the suicides with our arms at games xD

yeah it's alot of fun! I got to go to Japan with that band and we did the same things except we had to take out a butt slap so we didnt offend any japanese people xD
I started a tradition when i was in band that's still going. We do it for our pregame warmups. We call it "Sax Limbo" We play an excerpt from an afro cuban jazz song and the saxes link two neck straps together and limbo underneath it. I dont limbo, i just do an improv solo though the whole thing since i'm lazy <.<

We were cheated out of our Disneyworld trip because we were planning to go the week of the Daytona 500. We went to New Mexico instead (Less than a day drive from Colorado) the year after we were supposed to go. But then the band boosters decided to make Disneyworld happen last year, so my senior class and the class before us got jipped. They went on a plane, obviously.

I had my first day of band today. I almost passed out... emo I was so ashamed. As a junior I should be used to band by now, not whiting out like a freshman. My whole vision got slowly whiter and whiter until I told my assistant director, who told me to sit down. I hate having to sit down when the rest of the band is doing stuff. I probably wouldn't have told anyone, except I knew it would end up in me passing out. I know I wasn't locking my knees, so don't think that.
But I'm kinda anxious about fundies tomorrow. Whiting out freaked me out, and I'm scared it will happen again. On a positive note, music rehearsal went pretty well. biggrin Now I just need to refresh my pregame for check offs on Wednesday.
