IceeWitch Alutian IceeWitch good observation..
how have you been? with all things life and beyond? Not bad, really. Graduated college a year ago, but it's impossible to find a job in the field I want to where I live (with my family) so right now I'm working a more basic job to save up money to buy a car/pay student loans/someday be able to move to where the creative stuff can be found. That and I really doubt my current artistic abilities, so this also gives me time to maybe stretch and improve a bit more before daring to send resumes and portfolios to professional companies. smile
How about you? Anything fun going on?what was your major? I'm still in school, this will be my FINAL YEAR. I should've graduated this past May, but I did the change major, add a major/minor thing. isn't the real world mind blowing? I wish I didn't have to worry about internships and stuff. Maj: English, emphasis Creative Writing Min: Fine Art
Almost got a minor in Psychology without meaning to. I'm only missing one class for it. XD
What I'd really, really like to do is get a job with a game or movie company (Dreamworks would be an absolute dream from where I'm standing right now) and do character/concept designs. I live in the Midwest, though, and those kinds of jobs are typically in the coastal areas, particularly west coast and particularly California: moving would be necessary, and living likely quite expensive.

have you looked into those Disney College programs? I know friends who've done them and they've said it's an amazing foundation to get contacts and stuff.

No, I hadn't; I assumed that "college programs" referred to partnerships with certain colleges or internships of sorts and that both would be pretty useless to someone already graduated...

No, I hadn't; I assumed that "college programs" referred to partnerships with certain colleges or internships of sorts and that both would be pretty useless to someone already graduated...they have a lot of different types of programs. I've had friends who did the semester thing "(which is for students) and I have a friend (acquaintance is a better word) who is about to complete an internship with them. And that's their FL location so I'm not sure. A lot of the entry level positions are probably just going to be touted as internships. I def get the whole relocating thing. The cost of living where I am now is incredibly low, so graduating and having to pay real dollars is going to be a huge shock for me haha.

I've got good news: a publication bought the use of a piece of my art! It's not much, but I do retain all the rights to it and can resell it anywhere I want if such should come up, and it'll appear in the children's fantasy magazine "Spellbound" by Eggplant Publishing in their Fall edition (don't know precisely when it's coming out, but there we go!). biggrin
So excited!
Now I just need to do lots and lots more.

I spend almost all of my online time on other sites. I'm on deviantart most of the time, talking to my girl and going through forums and on llama stampedes, and most of my other time is at yogscast.com watching videos and cheating on my google boycott or at Netflix.
Hello new people! *waves*
