"Opa"? Like, Dad?
That must have really sucked. In any case, however, I'm glad you learned it. I'm just not good enough to learn a second language - I took 4 years of Spanish and 2 years of French... and to no avail - the most I know is Hola.
G'night people.

I call my dad Opa, but that's cause it means "grandfather" in German, and he's really old. >.<

Fix'd
It's easier to just say Opa is grandfather.

Haha! SO it makes sense you German speaking Italians didn't even know you were esprechensing deutch ja? (I apologize to anyone who does actually speak German. I know very little, and most of it is entirely useless)

Such a small trifle of a word, it's okay if we steal such things. xD
Oh, and yes that does make me your minion.

Languages borrow and steal ruthlessly and shamelessly from other languages.
I haven't a clue if I'm good at learning languages or not. I took some Spanish in high school, but the teacher was terrible and we didn't get along at all, so I didn't learn much.
I pick up the sounds of a language pretty well, though. Took a few diction classes for singers at college, German, Italian and French. I can pronounce most things in those languages fairly fluently (at least from a singer's perspective, which I am aware is sometimes different from spoken pronunciations), but I usually have little idea of what I'm saying unless I get a dictionary and start translating. :3

aww yay! *is hugged and luff'd* Night coworker!
Yeah I pick up languages perty easily. It's pretty sweet. But here's my German phrase list (spelling is optional >.<):
-Guten Morgen/Tag = Good morning/day! -Vie geit as einen = How are you? -Er das me gut danke uned einen = I'm well, and you? -Ich haben der Schlukauf = I have the hiccups -Ich bin eine Holtzfaller und fuhl mich starch, ich schlaft dem Nacht und hagt am Tag = I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok, I sleep all night and I work all day. -Ich fall dem baume = I cut down trees. -Achtung! = attention! -Schenell =Quickly -Ver est ein mut Alie? = Where is your hat Alena! (hahaha, my friend's mom shouts this at her all the time, I used to know "Alena you're going to catch a cold!" and "Alena, you're going to catch a cold and fever at the same time!" but i've forgotten them. )
As you can see, this is relatively useless. My Japanese is much the same. I can say lawyer, but not bathroom. Awesome.

But, hey, look who you've been teamed up with now!
I need to PM Candy, to see what's keeping her from posting in PS.
