"I'm not 'up his sleeve' !" Nami shouted after him, anger returning.
Glaring at nothing in particular, she lifted her shirt a bit and glanced at the hasty bandaging job she'd done the night before. With a sigh, she tore them off and applied the salve before re-bandaging. She did the same with her bicep and shoulder before letting the sleeve of her t-shirt fall back down.

She sighed, and headed for his office.

Nyl was noticing something. It was still dark, and she still couldn't move...so that must not have been it. What, then...
She hurt less.
Not much less, but anything was an improvement. And she had sort of a sense of what might be going on, now. Not where she was or who was with her...but definitely someone.

I know I made a mistake, it was the safest option I saw.

~I've got my eye on him, Reeve. Don't let your emotions get the best of you.~ That had to sound strange, coming from a sensei that preached nothing -but- emotions.
Ijutsu must have been getting the better of him.
He pulled his hands away from Nyl, not wanting to push past her limit. He took a step back and turned towards a tall cabinet. Casting would take too long, but a splint on her broken limbs would be fine. He'd be able to remove the paralysis, after he did that.
"Hey, Reeve. Can you get some medical tape from the top drawer, next to the sink?"

"How long did it go on for?" She asked quietly, seating herself on the floor, swallowing a wince. They were only flesh wounds. She'd had worse, while traveling. There was no use using Ijutsu on them. It would be waste of chakra. "I mean you and Kara..."

Reeve fumbles around, retrieving the tape.
"I dunno...whether he honsestly betrayed or not, he still used us as props in his own plan... Here."
He hands the roll to Seph. At any other time he might have smiled at himself-seeing the world via energy was like having thermal vision. On crack.

I don't know what you've heard, but nothing happened. There was an animal attraction, that was it. It wasn't acted upon other than enough to get an agreement from her.

"He's on a short leash right now, Reeve. Thanks." He took the tape and began to splint her arms and legs, wherever there was risk that movement would cause more damage. Once done, he took a step back and returned the now-much-smaller roll of tape to it's home in the drawer.
He reached behind Nyl's neck and sent another small shock through her body, removing the block he had put in place the night before. He began whistling the same tune, louder now.

Would that that leash were hanging from a tall tree...
Reeve stays out of the way, wishing he could watch him work. This might be useful to know.

Nyl floated a bit more toward consciousness, surprised. She could move again. ...Well, sort of. The return of that feeling made most of her hurt worse, and her head was starting to throb along with her heartbeat.
And then someone spoke in it.
She shrank away from the voice, not recognizing it. She knew they had enough control of their chakra to be able to communicate through thoughts...and the last thing she knew, aside from a few moments of voices, was Aoi's final attack. She wouldn't answer him.

"I don't need to be treated." She waved her hand dismissively. "And no one told me anything, I could feel it between the two of you...I could see it." She sighed.
"I haven't been here very long...but I want to know what they keep talking about, about this being the second time." She glanced up at him.

He placed his hand on her forehead and nodded his head to the side some. He was trying to think, what would really wake her up? Her brain was functioning at a high enough level for response, but she simply wasn't responding. What was something that would really let her know it was him?
How about me?
If Nyl was really concentrating, she'd be able to sense the Protector's presence as he entered her mind. He had the advantage, now, of knowing how loud to talk, and when to say it.
