Kubain

PostPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2006 11:35 am

((sry ive ben gone again, had to figure out something with skool))
*Watching the battle from the lady, Kubain watched with somewhat of a sadness*
sigh, the only time i can open a successful tavern is right before it's attacked...figures
*he gathers 10 men, and goes to shore, with his whip in hand*
If any of you slow down, you're not my responsibility anymore! LETS GO, arrowhead formation!!
*With him and his men running in a triangle formation into the town, 4 break off to fight the resistance.*
Ok men, rdy battle formation!
*about 5 feet away from the other four ((NPC)) crewmates, the remaining 6 slide to a stop, forming in a circle, and charging straight in. Kubain pulls out a flask of rum, and pours it on the whip, and snaps it around a few necks, burning their bodies.
He then lets go once the redcoat is burned, and drops the whip to the grassy ground, and runs along the edge of the grass next to the dock, starting a fire behind him.*
(That should enough flame to keep my whip on fire for a while)
Men! Hold your guard around here, I need the flame, and we need to protect the ship.

*his squadren, now down to 5, hold their positions near the grass, fighting off the enemy, along with Kubain*
(these men wont last much longer, im gonna have to stop using this whip and get serious soon)

((Sparrow, you really want me to keep count when firing cannons??? HAHA!))

*as the cannons fire, one by one, she goes down the broadside, yapping orders to her crew, making measurements, and correcting actions*
That's it, lads! Run 'em out!
*One can feel the heat of the gunfire, and the smoke is almost suffocating.*

*Finishing his speech, he checks his pistols for the last time and straightens himself. It had been quite sometime since the last the Lady had advanced upon a port like this. Might he have become rusty? Only time would tell.*

"All Crew Prepare for Disembarkment!"

*Looking to aft.*

"Helmsmen! Bring us within pistol shot of the docks."

*Crying to the remaining Crew*

"We shall lower my shoreboat and all craft. The remaining longboat, two jollyboats & the maitenance skiff are all to be lowered and made fit for landing. All Officer's are to ready your men for a full advance.

Miss Ares. Stow Away the Starboard Battery and make ready the Port. I'd like you to leave the Guncrew to your Second and I want you to lead half your guncrew into the City. Bring your handgrenades, but leave all else. I want you fighting with Swords, Pistols... and if necessary, your barehands.

Miss Destiny, group what men are still in the depths of the Ship and ready them for action. Inform them that all cowards shall be hanged at Noon tomorrow if they do not participate. Once finished, regroup with My Squadron & I, and we shall make for shore as a whole.

[NPC] Mr. John, I leave you in command of the ship. Station yourself on the Gundeck and make sure the guncrew dismantles all the City's batterys and arsenals. I want all munitions bunkers bombed out."

*Looking to the Helmsman*

"Bonden. Hold your position. If necessary, call the guncrew ondeck and send them into the rigging. They can handle tacking the sheets if absolutley necessary. If this happens, which I doubt, bring her head around and order the guncrew to stow the Port and ready the Starboard for action. Once all is said and done, fire as many broadsides as possibley until we run out of powder and shot. We will not walk away this day in shame. We shall be victorious."

*Looks to Master at Arms*

"Beat to Quarters..."

The Doctor set upon his grim task of seperating the dead from wounded; then the savable from the lost. He decided to make the docks his staging area. Fortunately, he found a crewmember of the Lady who had only been knocked unconcious.(sp?) He brought the man back with a slap to the face.

"You there, I need your assistance. You've just become my aid, and your going to help me bring the Lady's wounded back here.. Come with me."

He then set about the work of field dressing what wounds he could. Those that could walk he sent back to the docks to wait. He encountered one crewmember who had recieved quite the gash to his head. Luckily the pressure of his head to the ground had slowed the bleeding. Removing his scalpel from his bag. Very deftly, he used the scalpel to best remove bits of dirt from the wound. He then gave the man a bit or rawhide to bite down on as he doused the area with alcohol and began to stitch up his head. It took 37 stitches adequetely treat his wound. He then wrapped the man's head in a bandage tightly, but not so tight to restrict bloodflow.

"See this man back to the docks," he said to his new "orderly".

He then continued about his work of searching for wounded.

*nods to Captain's orders*
Aye!
*turns to the crew and speaks up*
Silence, lads! Stow the starboard guns and make ready to the port!
*she walks the line, going to speak to her second((who is???)). She explains that the port side will be in his((or her...)) control whilst she is away, and to lead the crew well. She separates the crew into halves, leaving only one powder boy with the ship, but he's well capable. She leads the other half to the starboard side, to stow the guns.*
Stow these and report to the weapons room!
*walks away to ready the guns and hand grenades*

Destiny nods to the Captain's orders, then scampers below deck, racing through the ship, collecting what few crewman that she could find. She ran through the crew's quarters, hold, the empty galley, and the rest of the ship.
Trailing them like a mother duck with ducklings, she led them back up to the main deck. Running up to the Captain's squad, she reported in, gesturing to the few crew behind her, all bristling with knives, swords and other assorted weapons.
All right Captain, I've got what crewman I could find. We're ready to go ashore and do what's required of us. And maybe have some fun along the way! twisted Destiny said with a grin, reminecient of their mock fight on the cove shore...

-Hearign the faint call of the Captain below on the deck, she lowers her gun. Raising a brow, she cranes her head to hear better. With a smile, she climbs down the rigging quickly and stand on the deck, ready to help lower the boats, if the need arise. She glanced around, spottign the Capn', she strolled over to him.- "Capn', shall I go ashore as well? OR stay here and continue to pick off people?"

*Kubain and his men, now down to just 2, continue to fight*
((there, its brown, happy now? razz ))
(Damn, we're outnumbered...)

*Kubain readies his wipe to strike another redcoat in front of him, but another redcoat comes from behind, and pulls the whip away from him, throwing it away behind him, then readies an attack, and stabbing him in the shoulder*
Grr...that freakin' hurt! scream
*rushing with a newly found surge of adrenalene, Kubain clenches both his fists in anger. The redcoats, now clearly at an advantage over Kubain, charge at the same time, one barely hitting his other shoulder and the other missing him. Kubain then grabs the sword at his shoulder, and forces it away, then he swings around and slices one of the coats' stomach. A new look of determination and rage fills Kubain, the kill giving a somewhat vengeful reaction, and giving his eyes a soft blue glow.
The other redcoat, seeing what had happened to the now-wounded ally, tries to retreat, but is held by the neck by Kubain, with a vicious smile on his face. The only thing the soldier could do now is await a warrior's death, while screaming in fear, until his demise...*

Upon reaching the cove, Dr. Morgan had inspected his foot and found it to be merely twisted. The pain had subsided after a half an hour, and he felt ready to go again. He gathered up his equipment, checked in with Dr. Wilson to see that all was going smoothly, and made haste to the docks.

He had to go around the edge of the town, rather than through the center as would have been more direct. A breeze had come up, and was forcing the blaze rapidly through the town, though in the direction opposite the docks and the remaining two forts. They would have to be taken by seige.

As he got closer to the port proper, he could see several of the Lady Washington's boats loading up, and it looked as though one had already landed near the docks.

"Ah, they're coming ashore now... now the work truly begins..."

He grimaced. This would no doubt be a bloody mess, and it was up to him and Baxter to clean it up. With any luck, they'd find a few able hands to handle anything simple.

Once he was close enough to the docks to see clearly, he could see Dr. Baxter running about on a pier, a white something around his arm. It looks to Dr. Morgan like a bandage.

"Did he manage to get shot already?"

Driven by the possibility that one of the few people who would be of help to him with cleaning up the carnage might himself be injured, Dr. Morgan worked his way carefully down, through alleys, under piers, behind the frequent obstacles, until he was close to his destination.

Hearing a noise, Dr. Baxter looked up to see Dr. Morgan limping towards him.

"Dear God, sir, are you well?" Baxter inquired. As he walked over to him, he also noticed that Dr. Morgan was eyeing up the white band on his arm.

"Medical insignia, the Captain says it will help to prevent me from getting shot. I don't put too much trust in it though. Some soldiers actually target surgeons and whatnot; afterall, taking out a surgeon is an efficient way at crippling an enemy army. Perhaps you should rest here for now. I've got things under control at the moment. Just tending to the advance party sent in under Mr. Ilor, what a mess."

Quasan tried the best he could with the cannons, but he just didn't feel comfortable with them. He longed to do battle with his sword, the only weapon he had truly ever known. He went up top to see if he could be assistance with close combat.

((Does anyone else have a glitch in their avi? I keep getting this avi that is NOT mine....))

*the half of guncrew continues their work, firing off on command of the Second Gun Captain, as the other half moves across the ship towards the gun closet. They grab their weapons, granades, pistols, and the occassional hatchet, as Captain's orders were to leave all else behind. Swords were abundant, and being latched to belts constantly. Finally, the crew was ready to disembark on their mission.*
Alright lads, here we go. Once we reach the harbor, you're on your own. If you get injured, or see another one of your crew injured, I want you to take them to the nearest building and flag down the medic.
*nods*
Okay, let's go. Fight bravely, lads!
*goes on deck with her crew following her*

"Ah, Dr. Baxter. Good tae see ye ashore already, I were afraid I migh' 'ave tae 'andle these folks by meself till ye got 'ere. As fer me leg, it were jes' twisted, nothin' permanent. I kin walk jes fine-"

Upon hearing an odd noise, Dr. Morgan looked back to the hill.

"DOWN!"

He made a dive back under the dock, and cringed as a cannonball whizzed overhead and landed harmlessly in the water several yards offshore. Apparently, one of the forts was still operational, even after the Lady's barrage.

"Baxter! Watch th' guns! We need tae get th' wound'd somewhere safe!"

He pointed to a large, solid looking building at the end of the wharf. It was a warehouse of some sort, but it was uncertain what was inside.

"There be lookin' good tae me. What says ye?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 21, 2006 12:55 pm

"Perhaps those with minor wounds, yes. However, there are some here that I need to get back aboard the Lady. They won't survive if I don't have access to the proper facilities." Dr. Baxter said while trying to control his nerves. That was the closest shot yet. Feeling the need to occupy himself before being overwhelmed with fear, he replied again.

"Let us get to it then, the sooner the better."

*As Quasan moves about the deck, slagging off in his Gundeck duties, the Captain grabs him by the shoulder and shoves a sheathed sword in his arms*

"Master Quasan... you'll be leading a small party of men into the City of Toulon. You choose your men and depart with the rest of us. Good Luck, Lad."

*Shoving Mr. Quasan in the direction of the [NPC] Crew, he turned and looked to the Shrouds, where Miss Sparrow was clinging to the ratlines, calling to hiim for advice on the assault.*

"Miss Sparrow, the choice is yours. Come along with us and risk yourself getting killed, or you have the option of hauling the box of munitions that I have in my Quarters up the shrouds and reposition yourself upon the Main'Tops. Once there, pick off all British Officer's you can find.

Target the Officer's in:

*Turning to the Men*

"Ready For Launch! All Men To The Boats! Prepare to Lower'Away!"

*Before getting into the longboat, he returns to his Cabin and changes into something more manuvorable, yet fancy.*
