“I se- uhm, alright then.” The mystery-man was gone sooner than she expected. After toiling away in the greenhouse and speaking to someone only to inquire for help, the change to feel free to spark a conversation with someone was a good change. Too bad the conversation was pinned to a halt for now.
“Not a very nice toy”. He must have been looking too closely at Yūutsu. That’s funny, though. In place of an agreeable laugh, she smirks. The thought of Yūutsu’s empty eyes, toothy frown, and set of curving blades came into mind. I guess they weren’t supposed to be “nice”, in the end. The smirk on her face evolves into a devious sneer: ”Wonderful.” She shoved the white scroll with a frowning face into her bag.

Horus was the first to arrive at the academy. It soared to the school glowing from the sunlight which danced on its back. The majestic thunderbird spiraled around the academy at an upward angle before it faced back to the gate, descended downward, and landed right in front of the young Taylor. The landing caused sand to fly up with forced the boy to cough.
“I know, I know.” The boy said through his coughing fit. The moment his lungs calmed down he looked the bird in the eyes, who towered him by a solid foot. “According to the rules we go to the kazekage’s office and get our headbands before we begin our ninja journey. That’s why you’re against training before we go meet with her.” The bird chirped in agreement as its head tilted right and left, so that its focus retained itself on Taylor.
“I know why you don’t want us to train first, but here’s the thing. When we meet with the kazekage, we will become official Sunagakure ninjas. No more hiding, no more scurrying around. We can finally take off on our goals of finding other thunderbirds.” Taylor said warmly. Horus erupted into a loud cry as he heard of the idea of finding other thunderbirds. “But before we can do that!” He shouted over the cry, which caused the bird to halt. “We need to be combat ready. So then, ready to train?” Horus stared at Taylor for a few more seconds before he nodded. He then took off from the ground and flew toward the back of the academy. Taylor followed, and the two began their training.
Taylor had a few ideas of what he wanted to learn. First, he knew that Horus and he had to become resistant to their own lightning chakra before they could go further. The electric resistance training took virtually no time. Both had knowledge of lightning ninjutsu, and Horus really had no time since it was literally a bird made of thunder. (Electric resistance training E-ranked for both Taylor and Horus)
Since Horus finished much quicker than Taylor, he went to work learning another lightning ninjutsu. The lightning clone technique, able to make clones of the original. As if by magic the sky became covered by several thunder birds, although only one was the original. Horus kept five around and disbursed the others into static clouds. (Lightning Clone: E-ranked for Horus)
When Horus finished learning the lightning clone technique, Taylor realized the potential in it for his bird. He trained the bird in the substitution technique, something he personally learned at the academy. Once he was sure the bird knew it, Taylor threw a kunai at him. The bird was hit but then disbursed into a cloud of smoke, revealing itself to be a clone substituted into the attack. (Substitution jutsu: D-ranked for Horus)
When Horus landed, the two practiced their next technique. A non-elemental technique called the temporary body paralysis. Taylor was able to master it nearly the moment he read about it, in part because of his fascination with ninjutsu. Horus, however, had much more difficulty learning it.
“You have to project your chakra when you do it. Think about it the person you wish to stop as you perform it.” Taylor directed the bird. Horus cleared his mind and only thought of Taylor. The boy then felt a powerful feeling overtake him, which left him temporarily unable to move. (Temporary body paralysis: D-ranked for Taylor and Horus)
Now that Taylor got through to Horus how to project his chakra on the outside, he wanted to teach the bird how to clear it within. The kai technique would do just that, as the bird would be incredibly susceptible to genjutsu if he does not learn it. Initially, Horus did not take up the technique easily. After a while, however, the bird mastered the technique. (Kai: D-ranked technique for Horus)
Taylor allowed Horus to take a little break since the consistent jutsu training was agitating him. When he left he practiced his own technique, wind retrieval technique. He threw one piece of his kusarigama and had it return to him with a gust of air. After practicing the technique a few times, he was sure he mastered it (Retrieving Wind Technique: E-ranked Taylor)
When Horus returned, the two resumed their training. One technique they both desired to learn was the Lightning Bolt technique. Taylor charged the jutsu through his Kursarigama, holding the sickle in his right hand while he let off a bolt of lightning from the left. Horus fired off the blast from his talons, flying around as he shot random bolts around. (Lightning Bolt Technique: D-ranked for both Horus and Taylor)
Another technique they both desired to learn was the lightning transformation technique. They both understood the value of a technique that allowed you to turn into lightning. Horus naturally learned the technique first. Taylor swiftly followed. (Lightning Transformation Technique: D-ranked for both Horus and Taylor)
After they finished learning that technique, Taylor wanted to expand on the lightning bolt technique. There was a technique called lightning blast, which continued the initial bolt into a stream. Naturally Horus mastered the technique first. Taylor was okay coming in second place. (Lightning Blast Technique: C-ranked Technique for Taylor and Horus)
The last technique the two would learn before they each took a break from each other was the lightning beam technique. Like lightning blast it was an expansion of the previous technique, but to more extreme consequences. This time Taylor was the first to learn the technique, as the expansion of the previous attack required more wit than sheer power. Horus eventually mastered it also, and the two both were content to train on their own temporarily. (Lightning Beam Technique: C-ranked Technique for Taylor and Horus)
Horus left first and took his lightning clones with him. While in the air he tried to learn the electric explosion technique. This would allow him to turn his clones into little lightning bombs. Horus saw great potential in this, and decided to learn it on his own.
Initially he had little success. The technique seemed to rely more on wit than raw power. However, thanks to practicing wit with the Lightning Beam technique, Horus successfully learned how to make his clones go boom. The static shockwaves he shot around him had no impact on anyone on the ground, since the bird and his clones were fifty feet in the air. (Electric Explosion technique: C-ranked for Horus)
Taylor watched the explosions take place above and felt motivation for his own training. He was teaching himself a D-ranked technique known as current transfer. It allowed him to transfer an electric attack by contacting the target, or touching something which was touching the topic.
Naturally, as a Kusarigama user, this interested Taylor. Taylor threw his sickle at a training dummy where it sunk into the right shoulder. He then channeled chakra into his hands which became electricity, which traveled along the metal chain and onto the dummy. Upon watching the dummy become electrocuted, he tugged onto the chain to make sure it was good and tightly stabbed into the target. (Current Transfer Technique: D-ranked for Taylor)
The reason why Taylor had to make sure the sickle was in the dummy securely was because of his next technique. He planned on learning the technique propelling winds. This was a technique where the user held out their hands on one direction while being fired off in the opposite one. Although originally designed to move the user left to right quicker, Taylor had another idea for it.
Taylor first wrapped the chain around his right arm before he used the technique. He then channeled the chakra necessary into his kursarigama in order to utilize the technique. Once he was ready he held his open hand behind him and released a burst of air slightly downward. This shot him drastically forward and, with the aim guided by the lodged weapon, Taylor flew straight first into the dummy with his body leaned out and his knee raised and bent. The knee collided with the dummy and knocked it off of its post as Taylor then slid as he landed. (Propelling wind: D-ranked technique for Taylor)
Once he landed Taylor readied his final technique. He channeled wind chakra into his weapon as he imagined a clone of himself within his mind. As he created the image a clone of himself appeared by his left side. With Taylor success he disbursed the clone into a puff of wind. (Wind Clone: E-ranked technique for Taylor)
Taylor continued along his wind training to learn how to control the flow of it. He channeled chakra into his left hand which poured into his neutral weapon. This caused the wind to pick up around him and to move to his will. Once he was sure that he could control it well enough he ceased the technique. (Projectile Control Technique: E-ranked for Taylor)
For this next trick Taylor took off his chain scythe from his belt and held the sickle in his hand. He channeled chakra into the weapon and then swung down with his right hand. A gust of wind came forth from the arc of the swing. This gust went forward and petered shortly. (Vacuum Sword: E-ranked for Taylor)
Once he mastered this he placed his weapon back on his belt but kept it within the grip of his left hand. Taylor then focused on an area on the ground which was covered in sand. He channeled chakra through the weapon and imagined the sand being forced up by wind. In seconds a giant eruption of sand ruptured first, and Taylor smiled at his success. (Wind Levitation: E-ranked for Taylor)
While completely alone, Taylor allowed himself to learn a technique from his bloodline. The final dance; dance of the young ferns. Taylor applied chakra throughout his body which caused bone spikes to emerge. The spikes exploded from him and quickly enveloped the area into a forest of bones.
Once the bones kept sprouting, Taylor channeled his bones into the ground. Initially, he only had a small radius of his bone forest. To expand it further, he used his bones underground so that they sprouted even further from his body. The bone spikes then arose into larger spirals further from the base. Over a hundred of them existed now.
With all of the bone tendrils, Taylor practiced the next part of the ninjutsu. He fused with various bone structures and remerged from them. On and off he kept fusing and defusing to get used to the technique. It was the equivalent of walking through a door to him.
Of course, the final trick was to stay in the doorway. Once Taylor fused with the bone, he practiced how long he could stay before he had to emerge out of another. Initially he could only last a few seconds between the two bones. As he progressed, however, he continued to increase the time. By the end, he could stay merged as long as he desired, which caused him to dispel the technique. (Dance of the Young Ferns: B-ranked Taylor)
Horus was too busy in the air to notice Taylor’s success on land. He already knew what technique he wanted to master before working with the kid again. It was the swarm of hummingbirds technique, a lightning ninjutsu which made smaller birds which honed onto a target. Naturally as a thunderbird he had to maintain the aesthetic of being a deity of all things lightning, including birds made of lightning
Originally the technique was more challenging than anticipated. It required a lot of finesse which the bird lacked. However, time will prove over and over Horus’ determination. He eventually created those birds and had them fly off while he landed back to his human companion. (Swarm of Hummingbirds technique: C-ranked technique Horus)
Once Horus landed Taylor and he wasted no time with the next technique. The two poured chakra around them as they learned the cloud shield technique. Naturally learned this technique first and effortlessly. Taylor took a second longer, but made his shield with minimal effort. (Cloud Shield Technique: C-ranked technique for both Taylor and Horus)
Of course, Taylor and Horus couldn’t learn the cloud shield without learning the true cloud ninjutsu. Call of lightning technique allowed the user to create a stream of thunderclouds into the battlefield. This was the technique Horus used to save Taylor’s life when they first met. It was important jutsu to them both, which is why Taylor wished to know it.
Naturally Horus took the lead for making this technique. He soared into the air and created a bunch of thunderclouds over the academy. Taylor channeled the chakra into his sickle as his chakra manifested into clouds around him. The clouds rose above to meet the ones created by Horus, and the bundle quickly blacked out the entire sky. Of course this was when both of them remembered that neither one could control the thunderclouds either, which caused Horus to sweep into action. (Call of Lightning Technique: B-ranked Taylor and Horus)
Horus flew into the heart of the thunder clouds as he had to think quickly in order to avoid the damage of the creation he and Taylor created. He thought of the ninja training Taylor taught him which the boy learned from the academy. It was then that he remembered that wind ninjutsu triumphed over lightning ninjutsu, which meant that he had to master a wind ninjutsu strong enough to counter the clouds.
Horus figured that if he had to get rid of the clouds, then a tornado would do. The tornado trap was what he had devised, as it was a technique which created a tornado around an object to trap them. Horus pounded his wings in the direction of the storm He decided to make the center of the technique himself as wind poured in around him. The clouds were all pushed away by the strong breeze, and the two techniques neutralized each other before any damage was done. (Tornado Trap: C-ranked for Horus)
“Thanks for that buddy.” Taylor said as Horus flew down. While he was awfully curious about ninjutsu, he was also terrified of it. If Horus didn’t solve that problem then there’s no doubt that Taylor would have been in trouble. Thankfully, that was the relationship the two had. Horus protected him, and Taylor provided companionship. It made the boy feel good to be so loved and protected.
The next technique the two embarked on was the body flicker technique. This technique sent the user flying in any direction beyond the sight of a typical man. Taylor first mastered this technique, followed by Horus. Horus had a hard time mastering it since he couldn’t stop himself from not opening his wings while he was in movement.
"You need to relax your body." Taylor instructed the bird. He then took in a deep breath and relaxed his muscles as an example for what the bird should do. Horus looked on intently. "Now you try." The boy said. Horus flapped his wings slightly to fold them in comfortable, and then closed his eyes. He then dashed straight across the academy. He cried out in victory as he flew back. (Body Flicker Technique: D-ranked Taylor and Horus)
Finally, the two had one more technique to master. This technique was known as bursting air pockets. By focusing chakra and your mind onto one spot, the user was able to make a burst of air explode there. Taylor pointed at the spot in his mind with the top of his sickle as chakra moved through the weapon. The explosion occurred, followed by a second explosion from Horus. (Bursting Air Pockets: D-ranked Taylor and Horus)
It took them hours to learn all of the ninjutsu they set out for. Eventually though, it was all completed. Horus started to fly when Taylor called out the bird’s name. “I’m still not done training.” Taylor said as the bird halted. The young boy then pointed in the direction of the training dojo and explained, “I still need to master my chain scythe. If you want though, you can wait for me at the office and I’ll meet you there.” The boy said. Horus screeched as he took off and flew around. He would eventually make his way to the kazekage’s office, but first he wanted to stretch out his wings. Meanwhile Taylor left the academy and headed off toward the dojo.

__ Hikaru walked into the academy area and began his training. Hikaru wasted no time learning medical techniques. He started by pulling out random weeds and sand together. Then, he applied chakra to them until they formed into a solid configuration. Once he made it, and pulled on it to test for durability, he was sure that he mastered the bandage technique.
Hikaru wanted now to know how to diagnosis any damage down to him. He applied chakra to his own hands so that they displayed stats about his current health stuff. It only took a minor amount of chakra to do so. Once he had his data known, he went off to learn a new technique.
Now it was time to learn some damaging medical. A potentially dangerous technique is the lung collapse technique. Hikaru applied dark medical chakra to his hand and brought his right hand to his chest. He could feel his lungs become damaged, which caused him to stop the technique and continue working.
His next trick was going to truly test him as a medical ninja. Hikaru applied chakra to his feet, and then throughout his body. He then disappeared in a sudden blur and re-appeared in another location. As he re-appeared, his body naturally let loose healing chakra. This would heal anyone nearby him of minor injuries.
Hikaru wasn't all too excited to learn his next technique. It was named soggy paper and for good reason. Usually Hikaru's paper would be forced to weaken and tear with ease while succumbing to waters wicked ways, but this technique helped with that. This would truly make his paper unstoppable.
Hikaru was in luck as a water source caught his eye upon arriving in the area. Moving over to said water source Hikaru would begin to try his technique. This technique was different in a way then the others he would learn. This technique wasn't offensive in the least, though it could be combined and used offensively in battle, this wouldn't be the case today. He manipulated a paper sheet to try and flow through the water source unimpeded. To his dismay the minute his paper hit the water it immediately weakened and Hikaru lost control of it altogether, watching it disappear in the water.
Second attempt. Hikaru was much more determined this time around and was quite infuriated that his first try had failed. He had never been one to fail and had already decided in his head that if it didn't work this second time, he would give up on learning the technique altogether. This time he concentrated a bit longer and poured more chakra into the attempt, almost creating a coating around the new sheet of paper that peeled off of his person.
Success! The paper glided through the water source unimpeded and even gracefully. It was as if the water was nonexistent and Hikaru was quite pleased. The paper zoomed through the water source and caused it to part, almost creating a minuscule bubble of chakra for protection of the delicate paper. Hikaru couldn't be more pleased and the success in this jutsu gave him the drive to continue to learn more of his clans techniques. He always strived to be the best and learning his bloodline through and through was but a stepping stone for his future.
Hikaru's next technique he wanted to learn would need a bit more concentration than those before. The next technique would make a physical copy of his person, made of his paper that could of course be controlled to his will. The paper clone technique would come in handy in many different situations including tricking his future opponents into a false sense of security if it really came down to it. But Hikaru really only planned to use it for another purpose.
He watched as paper sheets began to peel off of his person and glide ahead of him. Slowly but surely, paper by paper, a shape began to unfold. It would come together almost like a puzzle, a very big puzzle but a puzzle nonetheless. Each piece of paper created from Hikarus person had a specific place to situate itself on the currently forming clone.
The paper clone technique was a good one for Hikaru because he could use the clone for multiple purposes. Not only was it a plethora of excess paper that could be accessed at any point and time given, but it would also come in handy as a sparring partner, or even a vacant ear during tough times. Hikaru hadn't done much studying on clones themselves but he figured his paper clone would be no different. His eyes and interest continued to grow as the clone continued to develop, it was a beautiful thing.
Watching his clone take shape was on of the most satisfying things Hikaru had ever laid his eyes upon. The way the paper moved, the way it dented and formed to the body it was mimicking. All of it was so astounding Hikaru and even his little horse companion couldn't take their gaze off of it. In a matter of minutes his first paper clone would be created and stood before Hikaru as if it was a mirror. When Hikaru smiled so did the clone, it was almost... creepy in a sense. Dispersing the clone into sheets of paper Hikaru moved onto the next technique.
Hikaru's next technique was a basic one, but still useful in certain situations. It was the paper shuriken technique and it would complete his lower ranking bloodline technique knowledge. Or atleast, complete what Hikaru thought were the only weaker techniques of his clan worth learning. He looked down to his paper horse friend, briefly debating if it would hate becoming a shuriken for a moment. Alas, the thought left about as quick as it entered his head and Hikaru decided to just make more paper. It's not like he was running low or anything.
Bringing his hands together for a hand seal a paper sheet would slide off of his cheek, beneath the paper sheet his skin still held fair which made one wonder how their bloodline even worked, but that was for them to figure out, Hikaru could care less about the gifts he was born with. As long as he and he alone were born with them. As the sheet began to float to the ground it would suddenly hover about a foot off the ground then begin to take form.
It took several seconds as this was Hikaru's first attempt at making a weapon shape with his paper. Not only that, but Hikaru had only seen a shuriken about a half dozen times as he was more of a Taijutsu user, so he had to go digging in his memory for the exact look and shape. Before long the shuriken was created and it wasted no time in speeding off in a random direction leaving Hikaru's horse friend to chase after it like it was a new toy. Hikaru let out a chuckle as it seemed the horse once again had a mind of its own, but it should be being controlled by Hikaru.. right? Shaking the odd thoughts out of his head the tiny horse did return briefly and stomped into the ground, showing its mood about the unreturned shuriken.
Hikaru couldn't help but let out a muffled laugh as it wasn't something he did often and quickly glanced around to make sure he didn't have to make sure his laugh stayed where it belonged, dormant. The paper horse quickly floated up onto Hikaru's shoulder as it got the feeling they were going to depart soon, and sure enough, they would. But maybe not right away, there was still a couple more techniques Hikaru wanted to learn before he continued on his journey.
Hikaru next went off and applied chakra to his left palm. The palm took on a green color as the chakra shifted to medical use. Hikaru placed the hand over his heart and felt himself being soothed out and healed. After two minutes of using the technique he ceased it and worked on something else.
Hikaru readied himself as he made paper form. The paper took the form of butterflies. The butterflies landed on something. In a moment, the paper butterfly would turn into a bomb. Only, it did.
Maybe more chakra. Hikaru applied more chakra this time to the paper which became the butterfly. He had it fly off and land on something. Would a bomb explode this time? No, alright. He didn't need the explosion anyway.
Third time's the charm. Hikaru really focused himself as he made the butterfly from paper. The paper landed gently far away. Just as Hikaru was about to give up, the explosion went off. Not bad.
Now it was time to go full force. Hikaru channeled chakra throughout his body. His arms broke off into paper. So far, however, his body did not.
Try, try, try. Hikaru channeled chakra throughout his body. He did so the same way as he would create paper. Sure enough, this time his body started to peel off. Now he was able to make his paper everywhere.
It was time to try harder. Hikaru kept his body peeling off like paper. He focused the paper that was around his shoulderblades. Eventually, he was able to make wings form. Hikaru then used those wings to fly around.
Now it was time for the final trick. Hikaru caused himself to break into paper further. He got himself to the point where he completely dissolved. Then, he re-appeared and formed again. This was the final trick. Now he mastered the paper angel technique.
Another trick was going to truly test him as a medical ninja again. Hikaru applied chakra to his feet, and then throughout his body. He then disappeared in a sudden blur and re-appeared in another location. As he re-appeared, his body naturally let loose a violent chakra. This would cause several cuts and damage to be taken be anyone nearby him.
Letting himself take a break for a moment Hikaru found himself wondering how exactly how medical nin defend themselves. Surely with their knowledge of the human body they could manipulate that to their advantage somehow. Flicking through the different jutsus in his vast knowledge Hikaru chose one designed to do just that. After some time of manipulating his chakra to output the second type of healing chakra, he concentrated on the jutsu at hand. Plus it seemed easy enough to learn. Using his chakra Hikaru discharged a small electrical field around himself knowing full well it could be used also with just a hand, of a finger if required.
With the first rank of his next technique learned Hikaru jumped right into learning the next rank of the jutsu. Technically it was more advanced than his training should be but of curse that had never stopped him before so why bother now? The only real problem being that the scrolls in class didn't exactly go into much deeper detail on this jutsu. Figuring it best to start from square one Hikaru attempted to simply place more chakra into the technique. [1/4] The result was a small poof explosion right in his face. Stumbling backward out of instinct Hikaru ended up rolling backwards in a tumble. frowning and blowing her his out of his face he started to recreate the jutsu once more determined to find where he went wrong. I guess I just need to actually create the chakra into healing chakra instead of just powering up the jutsu I've already created.. [2/4] Following his own advice Hikaru recreated the jutsu once more with the exception of creating the whole thing as healing chakra at once. The difference was enough that it didn't blow up in his face, but somewhere along the way he either used to much chakra or simply let his concentration lapse for a moment for the ball of chakra in his palm immediately flew out of his hand and ricocheted between the walls. [3/4] Eventually the jutsu died down and even better it only cause minimal damage to the building. Hikaru smirked at the wall and rubbed her hands together, Hikaru once more summoned his chakra together in a single point and focused on changing it's properties into that of a healing factor. Apparently Medical jutsu required a lot more precision which I guess it's a good thing. He was practicing them here and not on a patient at the hospital! Who knows what kind of damage he could cause.[4/4]
Hikaru then knew what his next technique would be. He wanted to work on his bloodline more. He looked down to his shoulder and watched a paper sheet fly off of his person and into the sky before him. It slowly began to fold and shape into an object. [1/4] Slowly the object became more apparent and the obvious look of it came to be the Kokuo. One of the mythological tailed beasts that everyone whispers about. Hikaru didnt hold vast knowledge of the beasts exact shape or size but knew it was said to look like a horse. So thats what Hikaru went with.[2/4] With more concentration came more success as the paper began to develop its own supply and develop into a bigger version of the small creature he had began with. The paper stood roughly a foot in height but held no real distinction of definition. Finally the shape was complete. Hikaru had achieved another great feat.[3/4] The paper creation pranced around his person, also taking to the skies if it so willed. Or rather, if Hikaru willed it. The paper seemed to have its own mind, to be able to make its own decision. To choose between life and death. But such was not the case, Hikaru was always in control and would always remain in control. [4/4] Hikaru then left to go find a sparring partner to test his new jutsu. (exit)

Upon entering the academy, Fukuwa took his palms from the pockets of his haori, looking at the mouths on them, already full of clay form the reserves he kept in those very pockets. Mom and dad always told me to wait until I actually became a Shinobi before I tried creating anything with my mending mouths... He thought to himself, making the hands chew with only simple thought, gaining more control over them since his youth. They used to just chew anything they got close to, but he got to the point of control where he could actually keep them closed. In that state it would look like he just had creases on his palms rather than mouths, hiding his bloodline. [1/3][1/5]
While his mouths chewed away and infused the clay with explosive chakra, he made sure some of it was sent out into pellets, rolling them from his palm to his fingertips. He could feel just how volatile they were just by holding them...he understood that some Bakuton users could use close up explosions, but he felt like if his went off without an armor technique from Kaiser on, he'd blow up his hand. Deciding to give it a go, he flicked his wrist, watching the clay bullets launch towards the training dummies set in the far corner. He was a bit surprised by his own power then, watching a series of small explosions go off on contact, tearing most of those dummies to bits and scalding some others. [2/3][1/3] [1/1 Bakuton: Baku Tama [ Explosive Release: Explosive Bullets Learned]
He couldn't help the smile growing beneath his scarf. So...that was his power. It was strong. He liked it. I've been preparing to go all out for years. Utilizing the rest of the clay in both hands, he decided to work on some more creations. It took a moment, but he found himself able to create a few birds in his palms. Gently tossing them up into the air, he watched the birds spin out for a little bit before actually getting balance and beginning to fly in circles around him. So it was really that easy? It made his smile even wider,,giving a mental order for them to hit the dummies in the far room. The explosion was quite satisfying to say the least. [2/5][3/3 Bakuton: Kure-Hoshuu Kuchi [ Explosive Release: Clay Mending Mouths Learned] [1/1 C1 Learned]
Fukuwa wasn't done there. Instead he was just made more curious. If his ability to create and trap opponents could become so strong, what about his close range strikes? He liked to take his time with things and not rush down opponents, but there would no doubt be situations where his opponents rush him down instead. He dug some more clay out of his pockets, forming a few seals with his hands after to mold chakra while the mending mouths chewed away. [3/5][1/2]
It would only take a moment for the mouths to infuse his clay with chakra, and once compete he didn't waste any time with performing his technique. Just as he read from his clan scrolls, he let the clay extend from his hand in a long, flexible clay whip. It was about three feet long in total and he was able to properly grasp it with his hand without feeling like it was going to fly away. Wondering if it had the same "living" properties as C1, he flung the whip away and to a different, less exploded training dummy. Just as expected, it had some sort of sentient property to it, wrapping around the dummy on contact and binding it, before blowing up with considerable strength. [2/3][2/2 Bakuton: Tekidan Sanjaku [ Explosive Release: Grenade Belt Learned]
With that done, it was right on to the next technique he could remember from the clay method scrolls. He formed his hands into the rat sign, building chakra into his palms and trying to see if he could manipulate the clay to liquidize, to form a sludge that could be used as a puddle-based trap. While at first a few hard clumps of clay fell to the floor, the more he stabilized his chakra, he was able to get a steady stream going...his chakra pool, he could feel it ebbing and increasing the more he used it. [4/5][1/4]
I'll probably have to use this ability at an elevation or while maneuvering backwards. If not it'll get on my feet and legs, probably blow me up in the process of things. Maybe I can use it while moving side to side if I can find a way to boost my mobility. I doubt I'll be using something like this at close range either way though. He thought, stepping back constantly while performing the technique, watching it leave a trail. He wondered if there was a way to separate the puddle into different areas to create a cluster explosion rather than a typical puddle trap detonation. He tried to walk back in a circle, see if swirling the puddle could result in a different type of explosion, but thinking logically it probably just made a weaker one. Piling everything together would make the strongest explosion, connecting it in a swirl would make an explosion that detonated with a different volume in separate areas, while not completely disconnecting the explosions from one another. He'd need to think more on it to get exactly what he was going for. A puddle was nice, but varied volatile materials which could latch on to opponents in different areas was much more interesting. Testing to see if he could at least control it to some extent, he separated his hands from the rat sign for a moment then immediately clapped them back together, watching it crack and sizzle, a relatively small explosion forming at where he started the puddle. He mastered the technique at its base level, but he needed more. [4/4 Bakuton: Hedoro [ Explosive Release: Sludge Learned] [3/3 ❥ Basic Training: Performance Complete] +10 Chakra/Stamina 435/175
It just....wasn't quite enough. Looking at the stream of clay he made on the ground, he clasped his hands together fully so that no more could drip out and be wasted. I have...a plan. In all records of strong Bakuton users in the past, C1 has been stronger than it is now. What am I missing? I have the image in my mind...how do I create it? Closing his eyes, he could picture it. The creatures in his mind picking up the volatile sludge on the ground, displacing it elsewhere, all while he kept the sign. What was it missing...what was the picture missing?! [1/4][1/5]
He needed to hold the sign, but even with quite a few mouths he only had two hands. It'd be easier if he was able to cast jutsu one-handed, but he just didn't have that sort of proficiency. A clone. I need a clone that can hold it for me. A shinobi like me doesn't get far by just blowing up things and hitting hard. I need a plan. I need plans. He further thought to himself, seething as he further flooded his chakra pathways. He'd have to be proficient. An instantaneous use of a cloning technique mixed with the Rat seal, which leaked...leak. [2/4][2/5]
When he first thought of cloning, he thought of an earth-based one. Then upon thinking of the way the Rat seal caused chakra to leak out, he thought of fire...no, something more symbolic to the sludge. Lava. Hardened magma. A mix of earth and fire...Karyoku Bunshin. He recalled the technique from the academy, one that struck him as pretty cool since it seemed to make due on both his elements. A clone technique with the potential to use his abilities, and one he wouldn't regret picking up. [3/4][3/5]
His breath quickened, knowing he'd only have one shot or else both of his abilities would fail. He forced his hands to stop shaking, breath slowing, then came that beloved phrase that Bakuton users preferred using..."Katsu!" A Buddhist trick, where it was believed yelling it out could expel energy among other things. It was called out the moment he forced his chakra forwards and outwards, resulting in a...what? [4/4 Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [ Shadow Clone Technique Learned] [1/3]
He supposed that because he only used one hand seal it caused the problem, but instead of a molten clone it seemed he forced his chakra outwards into the renowned shadow clone instead...oh well. It would work. While he continued holding the Rat seal, the shadow clone held out its hand, three small clay creations in its palm. Three praying-mantis like creations with more capable wings and bladed legs. There were two sets of arms, the overarching ones being bladed while the other two were melded with some sort of bag-shape. An impressive creation if he did say so himself. [4/5] [1/3]
This has to be the method between C1 and C2...I know it exists. I know it. I know it. Those words repeated in his mind like a mantra, and his clone flung the creation forward, before he ordered it to take the next step. The right hand threw the clones, while the left formed a sign, raising two fingers up, and a puff of smoke happened with that next infusion of chakra. When the smoke cleared....there were three constructs flying in the air, the off praying mantis-like creatures he created. They were...huge, each like a tamer hound in size. [5/5 ❥ Basic Training: Meditate Complete] +20 Chakra/Stamina 455/195 [2/3]
Just like his clone, he was able to order them. Following his thoughts, they went over to the puddle of clay-sludge and ran the top of the sack against it, picking it up, then flying away again while Fukuwa watched in shock. They also weren't humongous, so their speed wasn't anything to mess with either. They buzzed around like insects, hard to hit, making sure to not spill any clay. In the end they flew over the training dummies and flipped upside down, letting the liquid clay fall there while it wrapped around them, the hands on his original body releasing the Rat sign and blowing the dummies up with an impressive detonation. As per usual, Fukuwa wanted to further himself even more, break past the boundaries. Every time he thought "This is amazing!" he wanted to surpass what amazing meant to himself. Figuring that his long range arsenal was looking decent, he decided to work on his short range. Which, of course meant radial explosions, something that was basically unknown for a clay method Bakuton user. In truth, it was something he had been practicing for years. Forming a quick hand seal, he surged chakra through his hands, beginning the preparation. First was the doton which covered parts of his mending mouths when his palms were pulled apart, a technique he'd been working on perfecting for awhile up to that point. Next was the tensing of the muscles in his arms, a "Humph!" leaving him as he build up strength, gold gauntlets of chakra beginning to form on his arms. "AGHHH!" Fukuwa yelled out in pain, yanking his hand back from in front of himself. His palms were steaming, even with the doton in his palm condensing the blast while chakra gauntlets kept him somewhat protected. Using forward-facing blasts as a clay-method user was indeed difficult, but he was determined to do it. Despite the heat in his palms, he forced his hands forwards, his mind running through for possibilities.
Even condensed, the blasts get released too close to my palms. I need a way to propel them forwards. Launch them out towards whatever I'm going up against. I'm not capable of using wind...but fire might work. He thought, and instead of keeping both hands outwards to launch two explosives, he gripped the forearm of his left hand with the right, pumping his katon chakra there.
"Katsu!" He called out, forcing his chakra outwards, detonating the explosion in his palm just as it reached the surface, launching out a burst of Katon flames outwards at the same time. The result was extraordinary, the explosion spanning out a good distance while the flames were propelled well to the other side of the room, leaving a trail of devastation that he was sure the academy staff could clean up. [3/3 Infernal Blast Learned - B rank Custom ]
After the blast fired, he had plans to try something out. Immediately after launching the flaming blast from his left hand, he replenished the clay with his reserves before going to clap his hands together....but he hesitated. If it hurt just launching one hand outwards, how bad would it be to launch two together at the same time in a point blank fashion?
He knew what he wanted, but it was scary. If he didn't have the Kaiser Gloves on it could even seriously damage his arms, possibly even blow them off completely if he was't careful! Needless to say that was a pretty scary thought for a Bakuton user. Still....being killed by someone else was even worse. Even if it hurt, was he really going to risk losing because of some self-inflicted pain? With that thought in mind, he continued to build his chakra up.
Breaths quickening, becoming ragged under what was about to happen, his arms shook as he spread them apart. Just as doubts were beginning to plague his mind, he shouted. "Katsu!" It was like a trigger for him, as if he had to move upon the release of that words. Slamming his hands together into the serpent symbol, he called out the name! "Point-Blank Infernal Explosion!" The bursting mix of katon and bakuton that ensued forced his body back, the brunt of the damage being absorbed by his Kaiser Gloves, though in the process they were destroyed by the force of chakra. A resounding *BOOM* shook the academy grounds, the radial bast expanding then detonating in a flaming force that scent debris from the damaged grounds and leftover clay into a burning flurry. [3/3 Point-Blank Infernal Explosion Learned - B-rank Custom]
Staff members of course came running to the main training floor to see the damage, along with a boy on his hands and knees, clothes somewhat singed but with no other damage. "Humph." A masked man exclaimed, bringing up a one handed seal while the floor began repairing itself. "Bakuton users...Hey, kid! You look like you're done training Ninjutsu for today, the grounds need a bit of time to repair. If you want to continue training do it at the dojo, but you can't continue here until later." He said, and a gasping Fukuwa stood up in reply, nodding his head. "Right...I'm sorry." He said, and just as he turned to walk out, the masked staff member continued, others moving to get ready for repairs. "Don't apologize, kid. Grow that destructive power into something that can protect, and we can call it even."
Once outside, Fukuwa looked at the horizon to see that it was still early. Guess he didn't spend as much time there as he thought. That's a good thing. I can get more training in, maybe a mission or two even before bedtime. He thought, extending a hand and dropping a clay creation. Before it could drop all the way to the ground, his left hand formed a seal and extended its size, revealing it's true form as an owl. Relatively small compared to other things he could make, but it would get the job done in flying him around.
Climbing up onto its back, he stuffed his hands back into his pocket and looked to the skyline he'd be exploring soon. "Onwards, my trusty steed." He ordered monotonously, being carried away by his own construct.
My Name Is Atsuma Ket. Pleasure To Meet You! I Hope We Can Become Great Friends!
It was just about time to get back to work. After graduation things had slowed down compared to the academy days. Atsuma saw little reason to use his abilities in his personal life. So some might say that he was indeed rusty. Looking at the palm of his right hand he made a small part of his remove itself in the form of a small sheet of paper that had the same pale tone of his skin. He wasn't very adept in utilizing his bloodline yet. Stories told of powerful origami shinobi that could disperse their bodies into paper like it was nothing. Atsuma, however, was still learning to control it. That wasn't to say he was a complete amateur. Grabbing his flute he played a simple melody and the paper that had detached itself from him would float away and become a clone identical to himself. These paper clones were very tricky to deal with due to the fact that they could disperse themselves at a rate in which, Atsuma himself could not.
[Paper Clone Technique] D
Molding the paper wasn't as simple as it looked. To fold the paper into what you wanted required patience and ability. Creating more paper from himself, Atsuma would mold his paper into small birds. These birds were to be used like shuriken. They flew with great speed and he could tell that if he put more effort into their creation they could fly at a deadly speed. His birds were average. They barely stuck to the targets he aimed at, but that was fine by him. His focus was not on the physical, but the sureal known as genjutsu. The real would come when the opponent has given up on his or her reality.
[Paper Shuriken] D
Atsuma was aware of the fact that his bloodline had many weaknesses due to it's weak nature. His paper was as sensitive as he was. He needed to find a way to get over some of the barriers life put in front of him. One of those barriers was water. Wet paper was no good at all. You couldn't mold paper into anything. Maybe one day if he developed Suiton affinity he might develop some sort of technique around wet paper, but it was highly unlikely. Creating a small square sheet of paper, Atsuma would coat it in chakra and spit on it. The spit bouncing off the paper instead of sticking to it. It was the Soggy Paper technique. Atsuma hated the name it had no formality to it. No class. At least it made up for it's lack of taste in it's usefulness.
Why would someone make a technique and name it such a disgusting attribute? Soggy! It was like the people of his bloodline were bafoons. He would not tolerate that! They would not mock him! Just thinking about all those voices crying out made his skin crawl. The voices never stopped. But they would see his magnificence. They would try to deter him with water and his jutsu would prevail! Yes, yes, yes. It will be glorious!
[Soggy Paper] C
The next move Atsuma had to revist was the kamikaze unit. A technique he didn't really care for, but it was indeed a part of his bloodline roster and could be used for tracking as well as offensive attacks. Although if he really wanted to attack someone with paper shuriken he would just use the paper shuriken technique. Either way he would practice it. The technique was beautiful now that Atsuma made the paper birds. Their tone was much whiter than normal origami techniques. He did apreciate beautiful things. He observed them floating in the palm of his hand. "So beautiful..." He spoke softly to himself.
Then the dark thoughts that disturbed his mind would begin to manifest themselves. Contorting the paper into a grotesque and wicked shuriken of paper. Toya loved distorting beautiful things even more. There was another gennin with him in the same area practicing jutsu by themselves. His eyes darted the shuriken and the innocent human life back and forth in a feverish manner. He could do it. Getting rid of the body wasn't necessary. He could just plead innocence by saying it was a training accident. Toya could even blame the poor b*****d! Yes, yes, yes. The shuriken would float and slowly move towards the other gennin. His eyes and twisted grin following it. Until a voice in his head echoed through and caused the shuriken to drop. 'Toya do not assume we will not be watchin you. We trust your development, but we are not fools. Any women or kids start dying around you and we're moving in.' He grit his teeth in frustration and turned around to stop facing the gennin.
[Butterfly Kamikaze Unit] C
Someone was watching Atsuma from a distance. A young looking girl. Probably a gennin as well. She was good looking in her own right. Nice features, but nothing exotic. However it was true that being too exotic was bad as well. Features clashing with the common and established features of a region were either rejected or heavily desired. That was neither here or there. Atsuma decided to use her attention to test out a genjutsu he was developing. She had seen his bloodline jutsu and would use that as a key to trap her in his genjutsu. Trap being a term he used lightly. She would simply see his body dissipate. Turn to paper blowing away in the wind. While in reality he was behind her. She just could not see him.
Toya loved watching them while they could not see him. It aroused him. Not as much as the watching their lives seep out of their bodies, but it was a decent substitute for the meanwhile. He wanted to use her more. And he definately would. He needed someone to use as a toy for the meanwhile.
[Paper Ghost] D
Atsuma would appear in front of the girl. His existence coming back into play once more. The you gennin would give a startled jump back. Atsuma had a very handsome smile. He practiced it daily. He knew that a smile was the easiest way of convincing someone of pure intention. People talked so much about what lies within and how character was worth more than appearance, but the fact of the matter was that people judged based on what they first saw. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you that much, but I just couldn't help myself. My name is Atsuma. Please forgive me haha..." He extended his hand for her to shake. An odd thing to do in their culture, but it was becoming quite the trend. The girl gave him the cutest little laugh. He smiled at her again. He could tell she was nervous at his presence. She avoided his eyes and her light complexion became inflamed.
Women were all different, Toya was very aware. Each having their own unique set of rules created by the society in which they resided in. Yet there was something that no woman could hide under the layers of social norms and unique personalities. Instinct. They all reacted either negatively or positively in the same way to his presence. Subtle things only those who resided out of societies chains could percieve. Why have a sharingan when normal eyes did enough? Toya laughed at the thought. The sharingan was something he held in high regard. The many uses it held. For someone like him it was a powerful weapon. Who knew, maybe one that he might get his hands on some.
Atsuma held her hand for just a couple seconds longer than someone normally would have while maintaining eye contact with the girl. When he released her he let his fingers linger and trace her hand as it departed from his own. She quickly squeezed her hands together while looking away. "It's quite alright! I honestly think it was pretty funny now haha! You got me good. Um, do you remem-" Before she could finish, Atsuma cut her off and asked her something else. "Would you like to hear something? Something that reminds me of you?" He asked while maintaining that lethal eye contact. She looked briefly at his eyes in some sort of confused doubt. Her train of thought suddenly crashing at his interruption.
Ooooh how soft her skin felt. He wanted to bite into it. Not in some sort of cannibalistic fashion. Toya did not find pleasure in such manner. He wanted to bite into it just enough to hear her moan in either pleasure or pain. The latter satisfying him greatly. He wanted to feel the beating of her pulse as his teeth suck into her. He wanted to get her scent inside of him. Like a snake sinking it's teeth into it's prey. She was his. And he, like a snake, had put her in a trance with his dance. He knew she was his. If only the restraints were off he could have her. That thought excited him. She didn't even realize the only thing keeping her alive was someone watching every move Toya made.
[Welcome To My World] B
Atsuma took out his flute and played for her a sweet song. Soft like her skin. She listened slowly becoming entranced by his music. She knew not that it was in fact a genjutsu she was listening to. Her world slowly fading away into a world made of paper. From the floor boards to the walls. Everything peeling away and being replaced by a field of paper. Yet she didn't seem to care. the music had enveloped her senses. "Where am I?!" She asked suddenly becoming aware of her surrounding when the music stopped. Atsuma smiled again. That handsome smile that made her forget her worries. He grabbed her right hand gently and pulled it towards himself. "Why this is my world! Isn't it beautiful?" He asked her with apparent enthusiasm. She nodded while her grip on his hand tightened.
Toya's heart was beating at an extremely accelerated rate. She was completely lost in his genjutsu. He was finally successfully! This was the technique he had been developing for so long! A world in which he could fold to his will. He wanted her to get herself cut. He wanted to cut her, but he feared the repurcussions would be. Then a thought came to him. They wanted him to be a ninja. This was training. He could not go back just because he used a harmless genjutsu on someone during practice! Suddenly the world changed. The paper that initially had been a beautiful pure while with smooth and graceful edges turned itself into a muddled white. The paper jagged as if it had been mistreated. The girl looked at him with worried eyes now. Paper was enveloping Toya. She no longer saw the handsome boy of her dreams. Instead she saw an abomination.
[Origami Shinigami] C
Atsuma wasn't doing anything wrong. He was just training his new genjutsu. As a matter of fact he felt proud of himself. He had accomplished so much on his own lately. He had become a gennin and was learning to hone jutsu from his bloodline that had little to no data. And to top it all off was developing his own techniques on top of it all. Atsuma truly was a great student. Any sensei would be thrilled having him in his or her squad. "It is alright dear. This will all be over soon. He would say in a voice that to him sounded normal, but to her would sounding like the booming wails of the devil himself.
Toya couldn't believe it himself. He had never wished so much for a mirror like he had at that moment. He wanted to see himself in all of his terrifying glory. He would have to please himself with the young gennin look of terror for the moment being as their seemed to be no mirrors in his little paper world. His fake words that his outer persona known as Atsuma were to confuse the girl even more than she already was. Playing with prey was very exciting. Giving hope to the damned was intoxicating! Toya looked an old nordish demon made of paper. Lifting his grotesque left arm he would slash at the girl. Her wails would echo throughout the land of paper for no one to hear. Blood poured from the scratch marks. He laughed and now the look of panic in her eyes were definately set for good. No smile would change that. She would try to run away, but the paper would simply drag her back towards him. Toya was not one to speak. He kept his true thoughts guarded to keep the one's watching at bay. Another technique he had developed was releasing itself from it's bloody confines. The girl screamed and screamed. "IT'S INSIDE OF ME! GET IT OUT! OH MY GOD!" She almost broke the genjutsu when she took a kunai out to rip her arm open to remove the paper maggots living inside of the wounds he inflicted on her. He would grab her arm and give her a soft hush...Beautiful butterflies would emerge from the wounds.
[It Slithers] C
Atsuma hated it when they cried. He saw tears as abhorent and something to be ashamed of especially to a shinobi. Quite honestly he was quite dissapointed with the girl for being so weak minded. When they put up a fight he felt a little bit more satisfaction when dealing the final blow, but she would get no such treatment. All he had left was one more technique he had developed to finish off someone with actually doing anything. "Now, now please. Your tears are unwaranted! This is just training! You will be alright!" He gave her his smile. But all she saw was the paper shinigami that had clawed her earlier. He didn't seem to notice or mind. "We are almost done. Now now don't be such a whimp! Haha! After this is over you can train your jutsu on me!" The girl cried louder. "I want to go home! I don't want to be here anymore!"
Toya was angry. He wanted to beat the girl in the real world. Oh how she was mistaken in crying. She had tainted his world with her digusting tears and made him wish to leave it! She SPOILED his world! This would not do it just simply would not. He had to teach her to respect the world of others. And luckily for him he had one more technique to test out before returning her to her dull reality. Which in itself was another thought that upset Toya! Why did she resent his world so much?! She saw how beautiful it was! What could there be in the real world that was comparable to this!? She was just upset about the small wound on her arm. It wasn't even real! She didn't know that, however. He could not tell her it was fake otherwise his entire world would collapse.
Atsuma sighed at her pleading and decided that his world needed some more silence. She would learn to apreciate it for what it was. "Shhh." He hushed as the paper around her body slowly slithered it's way towards her face. She gave it a panicked look and desperately tried to get it off. Every time she would remove it, more would come back to climb her body. Her desperate attempts are removing the paper become more frenzied as the amount of paper increased. "Aaah! PLEASE STOP!" Atsuma caressed her cheek with his grotesque hand. "Just accept it. It will all be over soon my dear." He said in what he thought was a normal voice and as if struck by insanity the girl stopped struggling. The paper finally reaching her face and stretching itself to completely wrap itself around it. It was so tight one could see the outline of her mouth.
Toya was so thrilled at the success of his final technique and even more excited by the fact that soon he would witness her true despair. At first she just laid down. Accepting the paper around her face. Proably in her mind she had thought that by accepting it, Atsuma would let her go once it was over. How wrong she was. He wanted to see the full extent of his genjutsu. Air was something people took for granted until they found themselves suffocating and wondering how they could get more. The lack of oxygen to the brain fogging up their thoughts making rational thought processing slowly vanish in a situation where they needed it the most. Her body started twitching. Her hands reached for the mask. She desperately tried clawing at the mask, but it was too late now. He could hear her making an odd noise with her mouth. There was no air so she couldn't scream or make any normal sound. Just these strange guteral sounds.
[Mask of Death] D
My Name Is Toya Takahashi. Would You Like To See My World?
My Name Is Atsuma Ket. Pleasure To Meet You! I Hope We Can Become Great Friends!
Atsuma watched her body slowly lose the will to fight on with what he believed to be a worried expression. He didn't wish to hurt her or kill her. He just wanted her to see his vision! And she had been very helpful up until that point. He canceled the genjutsu he had placed her under and slowly the world of paper would rip away. Back to the physical world Atsuma was so fond of. The mask on the girl's face slowly peeling itself off. She was unconscious at that point and Atsuma had no further use for her. He bowed respectfully and walked away. "Hoepfully we may do this again some time!" He smiled and she just laid there. He took his leave without giving her a second thought. Maybe someone would find her. Either way he had one final technique to practice.
Toya hated the weak. Or maybe he was just becoming bored of preying on the weak and frail. Maybe it was time for him to go after bigger prey! That thought excited him. He was a gennin now which meant his world would soon fill itself with interesting individuals that would get stronger the higher he got in the world. Yes! Toya was a lucky man indeed. As he watched the girl lying down on the ground he contemplated again disposing of her body. Taking his time obviously. But those damned eyes watched him.
Atsuma had one more physical technique he had to practice before leaving. It was the second stage of his Kamikaze Unit technique. These jutsu being much more offensive than his first stage which was meant mostly for tracking purposes and could be used for damage just as a last resort. As he formed the paper he tried his hardest at concentrating his chakra into creating explosive tags instead of simply paper. It was the first time he ever attempted it. It was a completely different experience to creating paper. It felt much more empowering.
Toya watched his beautiful paper. His beautiful white paper become corrupted by the marking of explosive tags. Part of it infuriated him, but another became excited by the new possibilites this opened up for him. Explosions were way to flashy. Toya was a clean and simple type of person. But he was well aware that in a fight he would have no choice in which way he killed his opponent or his prey. As the bird made out of explosive tags floated in the palm of his hand he eyed the girl who was still unconscious. He could do it. It would all be over for her. No no. He could not risk it all over someone so basic. He would wait and use it on someone that excited him.
Kamikaze Unit Part 2 - B
My Name Is Toya Takahashi. Would You Like To See My World?
Sadayo arrives back to the academy to study more puppet techniques and hurries to find a shelf previously visited. Once she reached the shelf of scrolls, the girl would pluck a scroll from the wall to begin.
With review of the scroll, Sadayo would learn of the workings of a new technique. Kikou Junpuu, Light Shield Seal Mechanism, which is formed of “solid” chakra. “Solid”, in the sense of that it’s supposed to be strong enough to deflect many attacks with only a handful of other jutsu to best the technique. The girl would retrieve one puppet scroll from her bag. The yellow scroll would be opened and replaced in a puff of smoke by its frowning inhabitant, Hohoemi. Sadayo would attach her threads to the doll (-5 chakra spent) and moves him out to stand in front of her, facing the other direction. [1-3]
If she could focus her energy, through her strings, and further onto one of Hohoemi’s arms then she had a solid chance of making this technique work. A puppet arm was raised and held outward through the shift and sway of lone finger. The arm would remain in place long enough for Sadayo to try the hand-seal and implication of her energy. A little blip of chakra forms at the side of Hohoemi’s arm and grows only a few more seconds before popping. A flop! This can work! It can work!. [2-3]
The shield would need better form to it. She wanted the disc shape to come into shape from the arm behind one of the metal barrels but endeavor was a little more challenging than she thought. Determined, she gave the chakra shield another try. The puppet arm was out, ready, and raised some for better a visual on her second attempt. Sadayo would perform the necessary seal and place all her intent on pouring her chakra and forming the blip of a shield. The flow of energy became much smoother with this second try and the she felt much more accustomed to what she was trying. The shield was in full disc shape, shining the laughing puppet’s artificial arm. [3-3 Learned:Kikou Junpuu (Light Shield Seal Mechanism) Rank B]
As for the next technique Sadayo wanted she would have to temporarily summon Nirami. She kept Hohoemi out through one-hand and added Nirami, to the other hand, through his designated scroll. Kuro Higi Sanshouuo was designed to make use of a Salamander puppet. Out of this technique, Sadayo wanted the know-how to reinforce a container to have it withstand B-rank attacks. In her case, it wouldn’t be practical to hide her samurai puppet under the sand and pop out after lying on its back in a dramatic fashion. Nirami’s overall shape might get in the way of this. [1-3]
Having two puppets out would likely become the norm for her. Perfect practice. First, Sadayo would practice the act of opening and closing the puppet’s container doors. Open! Close! Open close! Better yet, the sounds of the doors would suit: swiff, swufft, swiff, swufft! The timing, in a real combat situation, would have to be perfect when sneaking up on a target. Now, she would move onto manipulating her chakra to reinforce the container. [2-3]
A little like trying to work up a disc shape shield from the Hohoemi’s arm, but now had an existing shape to work with. Just covering something would be easier than creating something, at least, that is the thought. Sadayo would hold Nirami’s container door open as she would try the next step. The appropriate hand seals would be followed and held to begin the spread of chakra. Here, she could maintain her focus just on Nirami’s torso for as long as she wanted. In time, she wouldn’t have the glory of being able to direct her intent solely on the container or any single piece of a puppet. The attempt was better than the previous and she was able to call the technique: learned. [Kuro Higi Sanshouuo [ Black Secret Technique Salamander ] Rank B 3-3]

It was fine that Taylor arrived at the academy without Hikaru. Horus dropped him off in front of the academy, where he then walked inside and moved over to the teacher's office. When he arrived he was stopped by one of the staff, but the visual of his headband was enough to let him pass. When he entered the room he went through all of the scrolls to read about all of the new ninjas in the village. He recognized a few of the names from his graduation class, but others of them were new to him. Regardless, he took down all of their names and locations. After he finished writing each individual letter he took the papers and returned outside where Horus waited. The young boy went on the thunderbird's back as Horus took off and flew around. Taylor then began to drop off pieces of papers on locations where he would predict the genin would be. He would make sure to reach every possible place before he arrived back at the dojo. His goal was to make sure as many new ninja attend as possible. Taylor wanted to see the future flourished, and that was what he would do.

All ninja quoted received a letter with the following message. The message contains an in character thing, as well as an OOC part explaining how the tournament will function.
Sunagakure’s Unofficial Tournament
“Hello to all fellow shinobi,
To those who I have met, and to those I have not, I would like to invite you to a chance to challenge yourself to your very core. As my journey has progressed, I have met incredibly talented ninja who also are starting their journeys. If you are one such ninja, then please meet at the training dojo for a chance to compete against your fellow ninjas in a bracket tournament. The winner will know that their skill exceed that of their allies, and will come out of this with a whole new group of friends and connections. I hope to see you there. Signed, Taylor Childe.”
OOC: So yeah, this is a request to join a suna tournament. This will a bracket tournament, where two ninjas will fight while the other spectate. If the tournament gets too big, (More than six I would think), then I might either make the fights include more rpcs, (two v two instead of one v one), or have two separate fights go down at the same time. I want there to be a spectator focus, however, since a lot of what made Naruto great was people reacting to the techniques other had. Also roleplaying is all about appreciating what the people around you write, as well as your own work.
Spectators cannot interfere in the match of the contestants. If any spectators are caught influencing the course of the battle, then they will be asked to leave. If you are a contestant who is a spectator and asked to leave, then your place in the tournament is forfeited.
At this moment the rules are only genin can attend. Under no circumstances can rpcs kill their opponents. We’re all sunagakure ninja, after all. If an attack is done which would be otherwise unavoidable and will result in death, then it is assumed that an npc spectator intercepted the attack, and the person who would have died is declared the defeated. Because of this clause, however, the rpcs are able to fight with the intention of killing their opponents. There is no reason to hold back your character’s power. Always spare your opponent when applicable, but don’t be afraid to throw a kunai just because you don’t know if your opponent has the grace to dodge or parry the strike.
Once entered in the tournament, all genin who are enrolled cannot learn any techniques until either the tournament is over or your rpc has been defeated. An rpc cannot learn a technique while they are a spectator. This is to make sure you’re not teaching your rpc techniques which would be designed to learn techniques which would make them superior to your next opponent. If this rule proves to be too difficult, however, then a down time scenario can be created between one round of brackets and the next. And in this down time we can have techniques be learned if need be.
During this tournament, fight regulations will be more monitored than usual. Instead of being able to delay action for five post, during the tournament an rpc has forty eight hours to respond to any one attack. If the user fails to respond in forty eight hours then it is assumed that their rpc was too panic stricken to properly dodge or deflect the attack, and an npc spectator intercepted the match, ending the fight. In addition, if a battle exceeds eight days then the host of the tournament is able to conclude the fight, and make a decision based on the actions of the rpcs, and who is most likely to win based on remaining chakra reserves, remaining inventory items, etc. The tournament host does not need to intercede in a fight if both rpcs request that the fight continues via pm on the eighth day. However, on the tenth day the fights must be concluded in order to allow the other brackets to begin.
In order to be enrolled, you need to let me know via pm, skype, or discord by Sunday, July 9th. The tournament will begin either Monday, July 10th, or Wednesday, July 12th. The date depends on how many people enroll, as if not a lot of people enroll initially then I will allow late entries till the beginning of the later date. Before the tournament begins you can do whatever you like. Once the tournament begins, however, you will be either fighting or spectating. Depending on how it goes I may allow late entries, but I implore everyone interested to let me know sooner rather than later.)
Upon exit, Sadayo would eye a note tacked to the wall which wasn’t there before. She thought she heard someone else scampering about. The contents of the note reveals an advertisement for an upcoming tournament, while interested, a shiver ran down her spin. Anxious? Worried? Whatever the emotion was exactly the girl managed her dead-pan expression.

Kohana read the letter she received about the tournament of sorts and smiled to herself. She loved the idea of meeting other genin and seeing what they could do, though she herself didn't feel any need to compete. Still, it could be a lot of fun. She would be there.
That meant it was time to quit slacking, too. She removed her bow from her back and readied it, right hand on the string. She needed to finish learning Uwame so that she could continue with her other training. She used her recently-developed arrow creation ability, generating an arrow of pure chakra. She readied her aim, then loosed it for practice. The arrow hit just an inch left of her bullseye.
She re-drew her bow, generating two arrows this time. She lined them up as well as she could, trying to gentle her breathing to lessen her shaking hands. She aimed at the red-and-white target again, then loosed her arrows. They each hit about an inch below and above the bullseye. She then generated three chakra arrows, and mimicked her previous actions, with the middle arrow hitting the target center. [ Skill: Multitasking - [C] Training - 2/2 ]
It was time to put the training to the test. She readied her bow again, pulling two physical arrows from her quiver. She aimed at the side-by-side targets in front of her, wondering how the hell she was supposed to focus on hitting both. Regardless of her worries, she let them fly. She hit the target on the right, but her left arrow barely hit the target board at all. She hissed out a breath in frustration as she went to retrieve them.
She lined up her aim again, trying to split her focus. She was tempted to use her Kinmukugan as a focal point, but she wanted to avoid using it as a crutch. Besides, other archers could do this, so she could too! She lined up one arrow at the right-side target, but waited until she felt confident about her second arrow's accuracy before letting them loose. While the right arrow wasn't as close to its target this time, the left arrow was equally off by the same two inches from the board center. That was much better; a little more practice and she could hit two bullseyes simultaneously. [ Two Shot Spread - [C] Simple - 2/2 ]
The next technique was more difficult. It had a more obvious chakra element to it, rather than just being concentration and physical wellbeing. She had to loose an arrow with an auditory addition. She retrieved her previously loosed arrows and replaced them in her quiver. She drew out just one arrow, and knocked it.
She aimed at her target with additional caution, though the accuracy wasn't the key to this technique. She tried to manipulate her chakra over the arrow, but she ended up just creating an additional chakra-arrow. She bit back a curse at the setback and cut the surge of chakra she was providing. She took a deep breath, then tried again. She imagined coating the arrow in her chakra, strengthening it.
With her chakra coating the projectile, she took steadier aim and focused in a tunnel vision fashion. Only the target existed. She released the arrow on an exhale, though she was unprepared for the loud shriek the arrow emitted. She flinched away from the wail that filled the academy. Nevertheless, it hit its target dead center. Her cheeks flushed for a moment at the noise, so she quickly retrieved the arrow. [ Wailing Specter - [C] Complex - 3/3 ]
Kohana replaced the arrow in her quiver and then placed her bow behind herself. She used her wood-climbing technique to walk up the wall of the academy, finding a lengthy shelf on which to kneel. This next technique worked best from high locations, so she wanted one to work on. She withdrew her bow and grabbed an arrow.
This was a stance, so she didn't actually need to loose an arrow, but it was better to see how comfortable she was firing in this new position than to just assume she'd be fine later on. She narrowed her eyes on her target as she shifted one leg in front of her for balance. This position didn't make it as complicated to fire as she thought it would, but it did make her harder to detect to ninja that, of course, didn't watch her climb up. She took the shot when she felt ready, and hit her target just fine. [ Crouching Stance - [C] Simple - 2/2 ]
Kohana replaced her bow and hopped off the long shelf. She bounced a bit when she landed back on the academy floor to minimize the impact, then went to retrieve her arrow. She replaced in her quiver, then stretched up high to relieve any stress from the previous crouching stance. There was a specific retreating technique that archers used when they studied this style.
She channeled her chakra towards her legs so that her muscles would move with increased speed. With the supreme boost, she ran past her target practice boards and out of the academy doors. Feeling renewed in a way, she pulled a few laps around the building. The wind bit at her warmed up body in a refreshing way, but once it gave her goosebumps she quit running.
She bent over once quitting, basking in the last tendrils of chakra she felt surging in her legs. Once the sensation was over, the lightness she'd felt was replaced with a familiar weight named fatigue. She heaved for a half-minute until her breathing was back under control, though walking back into the academy felt like wading through water. Murky, thick water. [ Distance Creation - [C] Complex - 3/3 ]
Kohana yawned as she re-entered the academy, feeling the fatigue really weigh her down. She removed her bow and put it in front of her, then crossed her legs and sat. She would continue training in a little while, she promised herself. Just a few moments of rest would make do, then she could practice her doujutsu.

We'll be @ your tournament! TY for the invite. FYI, my old laptop broke so I'm on my new one, but no access to my old discord accnt [used a fake email that I don't remember], so I'll need to make a new temp. discord later this week to keep in touch. Until then, you'll need to quote me for new developments. TY.
__When he arrived at the academy, a piece of paper dropped down from the sky. Curiously he waited until the debris fell into his left opened hand as he read the flyer which announced the tournament. 'He works fast.' He thought with a smirk. Hikaru looked up and saw that the little blond boy was still in the air. Paper formed from his chakra until it created a little platform which hovered by his feet. With confidence he stepped upon the platform as he then had the paper float him into the sky where Taylor hovered with Horus. The three of them were well above the academy. "I can see why you like being on the bird. Being up here certainly has its advantages." He said with a smile. He used the act of tree climbing in order to ensure that no additional gale knocked him off of his platform. Even if that occurred, however, he was sure that Taylor and Horus would catch you.
_______________ ≎Out Of Context≎ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Lets get the day started~
When the invites went out Horus continued to fly in place over the academy. Taylor took a breath before Hikaru's sudden intrusion surprised him. "Whoa!" Taylor exclaimed in amazement. He didn't really understand how the other boy was flying, but he was. It was really cool the way that he was doing it. So much so, Taylor decided to try his own trick. Taylor slowly slid off the right side of Horus as he took out a kunai. The boy then channeled lightning chakra throughout the weapon which created a storm cloud underneath Horus. Although the technique was small, Taylor maintained his focus on the cloud as he threw both of his legs over to the right side of Horus. He then slowly slid off and stood on top of the cloud. He used the act of water walking in order to retain balance, and once he was on top he leaned his body forward to move the cloud in that direction. He moved his body around until the cloud he was on brought him over to the boy.
"I used to get really scared when I came up here. I'm surprised you're alright." He said a little shy. The boy was not lying, as flying on the back of Horus used to be a terrifying ordeal. Horus was a competent flyer no doubt, but he was a free spirit who disliked being controlled. When Taylor learned to trust in the bird, then he learned to have fun on the creature's back. Until then, however, the fear of heights and of flight were both alive within the young blond.
My Name Is Atsuma Ket. Pleasure To Meet You! I Hope We Can Become Great Friends!
Atsuma read the note that was handed to him by someone he did not know. He was a curious individual and loved the concept of letters. They were exciting when you received them anonymously. He read the contents carefully before making the paper fade away in his hand. The gennin were holding a tournament. He read the name of the person who had written the letter and gave a slight chuckle. "Taylor Childe." He mumbled calling back to the academy. A brighty boy with a knack for drawing people in and making allies. Atsuma was very fond of him even if they never developed a relationship. Taylor was very much like him. A role model for any citizen to strive towards becoming. He would join the match. It was just a friendly gennin spar after all. Taylor Childe. Always trying his hardest to stand out among the crowd, Always mingling with others trying his hardest to be a good little boy. Toya would join the tournament. Only to show him how cruel the world actually was.
