There , above Jay, Ava stood on a high up tree. There below her was the man trying to save the one she had tortured. The point of this exercise was to instill more fear in the heart of the clan leave the man alive to tell the tale of who did this to there friend. The soldiers had there orders, now it was her turn to start the skirmish. Using her acrobatic skill Ava flung her toned body downward as Jay ran past where she stood. As she fell she put all her weight into one leg down onto Jay's right leg, tripping Jay and making him fly forward onto the ground as Ava rolled back up and drew a revolver at him.

Jay felt the energy leave his leg as he tripped and rolled on the ground, stirring up dust. As the dust settled, Jay could be seen forming a handful of holy mana in his palm. His eyes were narrowed at the gun. He'd seen nothing like it before, but wouldn't take chances on it's power. He slowly rose up and began to back away, not saying a word. He needed to get to Aes's, but this could be the one who all but killed ultima. "Were you the one who injured my friend?" He asked calmly, those pale green eyes now narrowing at the figure's eyes.

"Woe to you of earth, how far thou has fallen among the heretic. You would seek to help whom God has bestowed his wrath upon, your blasphemy before the Lord shall not go unpunished. Repent and find a quick death for the light of the Lord is with all at his side." Ava said calmly while standing poised to shoot at him if he moved.

Jay scoffed "How is helping another living soul blasphemy?" He asked as he studied the weapon carefully, watching the way the figure was holding its finger on something. As soon as it moved that finger he made sure he either dodged or tried to block whatever came out of that thing. He tried to buy time, feeling the life returning in his leg. He stood at his full height and looked down at the stranger, resisting the urge to strike him/her down on the spot.

Watching Jay's eyes was very easy with the face mask on, she could tell he was fixed on her gun and thus he had failed to realize her second one by her waist. Going faster then any well trained eye could see Ava shot and fired with the first gun, but instead of aiming at Jay She moved it with a sudden turn to hit a tree next to him. As she did this she also drew the second and fired it at his shoulder, firing at the perfect time that the sound of the second was hidden by he first. If Jay was paying attention to the fist, he was gonna get hit by the second.

Jay was fixed on the first gun, but having no knowledge of the item...he merely took evasive action and dove behind a tree in the opposite direction the first gun was pointed. The second gun narrowly missed the shoulder area, and ended up piercing his cloak. Swallowing as he looked to his cloak, he then scratched his head "That thing must be...some kind of advanced crossbow" He would quickly kneel down and shoot a blast of holy energy at his opponent, wanting to see how his opponent fared against a little magic.

Ava immediately knelt before the holy energy and holstered her weapon. The energy struck and lit up her body, causing no harm to her pure soul. Then after the effects wore off she stood and redrew her gun and pointed it at his hiding spot, this time calling out to him. "H- How dare you use the power of God on one of his chosen, you Fallen one shall suffer worse then your friend."

"Damn...nothing" He said as he sighed to himself, wondering what skills he could fall back on besides his holy energy. He lept back from behind the tree, escaping into the brush now. He made sure he wasn't going to be followed for a few seconds by extending out both hands and shooting another blast of holy mana, this one radiating brilliantly so the woman would be blinded for just a second or two: all he needed to get away and think of what he could use to combat this foe.
The solution came down to wind power. He had a very mild expertise in the field, simply because his sister had taught him some techniques. He had enough to fight back with, but not enough to really do any crippling damage. Still, it was a start. He leapt into one tree, standing behind the trunk as he removed his cloak.

An insult graver then any other. Letting lose the firebombs the promethium burst into flame upon contact with the air. Setting up only a small field of safe passage. Effectively trapping the man. The sweet smoke blacken the air, their helmets allowing them to breath easily and see what was happening. Opening fire with their concetrated assault they sought to kill this blight. For there are none worse then the traitor.

Jay looked at the fires now. He wondered where they were stationed, but could only see the bullets splintering the tree he had taken refuge behind. Bringing his scarf up over his mouth, he sat patiently and began to look at the increasing flames. He could make a jump for it and try to head to the lake, but the flames had too broad a range. He could also try to jump out from behind the tree and hope to dodge the bullets, but that too was hopeless. He would look down, seeing the open lane he had to freedom. Dare he run the gauntlet? He asked himself. Seeing that he had no choice, he quickly uttered a prayer and dropped down, rushing his way down the lane with no flame present.

Tracking their guns along the path they had laid out. The fire line was clear and they were ready for a mad dash. Having switched over to shot so as to send as much fragmentation as they could they watched the target move. "TRAITOR!" They yelled as they opened fire. Peppering his back with shot.

Jay began the mad dash down the gauntlet line, seeing and hearing the chaos around him. He'd put up a holy shield around himself, using all the mana he had in his body to sustain it. He began to run a bit slower since he withdrew mana from his legs, and when he thought he had made it, he felt the searing pain of what felt like three or four pieces of metal sinking into the back of his upper shoulders and downward to the lower back. None of which connected with the spine, however. Jay closed his eyes tightly and sped off, making sure none would follow by heading towards the sea and to double back around to get to Aes's house.

Ava whistled the men to regroup at base camp and began to walk off. The ground that had been lit on fire would be barren and scorched before it went out. Ava reloaded her guns as she returned. The men too making there way backward. They escaped like ghosts. Leaving only fire and blood where they had laid God's wrath.

wonderlandx13 The blast caught her off guard, once her back hit a tree trunk really hard was when she fell unconcious. Last thing she saw, was Jacob realizing what he had done. Her head was throbing, and her chest was bleeding, but not much. Her face turned paler. It seemed that her mind was placing her in her imagination. "why?" she spoke softly, that not even the whispering wind could hear what she was saying, a small tear rolled down her face. Jacob sat there in shook watching as miss Sakura started to lose conscious. Watching the single tear roll down her cheek as she gazed towards him. His shaking had stopped and he had gone still merely watching as Miss Sakura and slipped away into unconsious. His breathing fast and hard the wind making his hair whip around in front of his eyes.

Jacob continued to sit there completely numb staring at the fallen form of miss Sakura. Seeing battles from that of war were gruesome and they never leave your memory. But...battles of attacking a companion and friends are more menacing and worse then others. And this was one jacob was never goin' to forgive himself for. He gulped shaking raising his hand and pushing back his hair behind his ears before slowly as if facing a predator rose to his feet.
"....M....Miss Sakura?" Jacob asked in a voice barely over a whisper. "...Miss Sakura?"
When he received no response anger suddenly started to form in him. He didn't know why....was it because of what he had done? Or was it somethin' deeper then that. Jacob continued to stare at miss Sakura for several moments. During that time he could see the world of the wilderness vanish and instead to his eyes found himself standing upon a wooden floor. Staring dumb founded and scared in the doorway as he stared forth at the body. But the body was no longer miss Sakura's but that of his mother. Her long red hair broke free of the the black butterful pin that kept it up. Spwarled upon the floor with a trinkle of blood coming from the corner of her mouth to fall along her pale cheek. The black dress she wore was torn in varies places and a few bruises were forming now. His eyes widening with tears as his father stood over the body with the thick leather belt in his hand that sent a shiver down Jacob's spine. Making him take a step back that caused a squeak in the floor. His screams and cries filled the house.
Jacob's eyes had turn black again as the anger continued to build up. Very much like Reaper a glyph formed beneath his feet but his was that of demonic symbols. His skin turning deathly pale like that of a corpse while his hair bacame a bit longer to that of his shoulders. With five shades of blue running through it then black ruins and glyphs formed upon his skin. The glyph disappeard and the Shadow Walker, Jacob, stood there the anger reaching its peak.
