Blades kept on flying at Nami in an attempt to keep her distracted.
Kara dodged Seph again as the invisible chakra strings started leeching chakra from him, giving it to her instead.
"I will not, boy." Kara deliberately turned her back on Reeve, for a moment stepping out of the barrier and looking up at Aoi.
Aoi was looking at Neko, curiously. "No. This one is mine. Besides, I don't see what any of you-" he addressed the three inside the barrier as well as Neko "-ever wanted her for anyway. Think about it for a few minutes. Wouldn't life be just plain easier if you let me walk away with her? Wouldn't things be more peaceful?"
He grinned evilly, shaking Nyl a bit. "Don't worry, she can't hear your answers. But I want to. Wouldn't you rather just be rid of her for good? Answer truthfully, now."

Yes, but only if I could do it. She's kept my instincts bottled up the entire time I've been here. It's been driving me mad!
-=Neko neared Aoi, looking down at Kara, then at Nyl's limp body=-
Such a pity she can't hear me...
-=He looked down at the combat, then particularly at Reeve and Seph=-
I wonder what Fenris would say to this...I really need to thank her for letting me remember how good the taste of blood was. Oh, and Seph? I'd love to let you try, but business is business.

Nami instantly brought up a layer of chakra around her body, like a thin armor and began moving in tandem with the blades, deflecting them. A few she sent Sephs way in an attempt to sever some of the threads. A blade caught her shoulder, forcing her back a step but she sent it flying back at the barrier.
"Why would life be easier? She's been the only one holding things together lately as far as I can see. She takes care of us-she'd do anything to save any one of us, of that I have no doubt. I could sense that right away and I haven't been here that long." She grunted, dodging a blade that flew at her neck. " Things would be a lot worse actually so no, we can't let you walk away with her."
She was slowly deconstructing the barrier, her eyes darting here and there every few minutes as she continued to move. Soon she'd be able to figure the amount of chakra that would break it and not retaliate, well at least get herself through. She couldn't break the whole thing. The whine of a blade shot past her ear and she ducked shocked at the momentary distraction. Angry, she began moving at a faster pace.

She was quick, and something was feeling wrong. "Byakougan." He pulled his vision back as far as he could, enabling himself to not be so effected by the barrier. He rose his arm to attack again, catching a very faint and almost invisible glimpse of what looked like a strand of spiderweb attaching him to Kara.
Neko's words rang through his head. It was true, then? The man he had looked up to for so long was just.. a traitor? Was it that easy? Seph's chakra flared immensely as he gazed up at Neko and Aoi. She was outside of the barrier right now.
"Nyl's the reason I'm still here. I'd never exchange her friendship for the prospect of an 'easier' or more 'peaceful' life."

"Why....is Nyl important? Why do -I- want her?" Reeve chuckles mirthlessly, staring at her with blood-covered, sightless eyes. "Your little fake already knew the answer to that. Nyl is the only one...the ONLY constant in my life. Everytime I'm hurt...physically, like this, or in my heart, like when your pet cat stole my fiancee, it's Nyl who takes care of me. She's the first one I see when the fighting's all done. She keeps me alive...not that I expect you to understand, but Nyl Phairen is every bit as important to me as - no, she might as well BE my heartbeat. And if you extinguish it, my dying breath will be spent wrapping my hands around your throat."

Aoi laughed, and soon Kara's laugh joined him.
"Foolish attachments. You don't see her for the weakling she is."
Kara stepped back through the barrier, stronger now due to Seph's chakra. She launched another set of chakra blades at both Nami and Seph, noticing that Reeve couldn't even see her.

Reeve couldn't -see- her, but his mind's eye knew exactly where she was, thanks to her body's electrical field. Dropping the heavy sword, Reeve rushes into a headlong tackle on Kara, locking his hand around her neck, as promised. The other swings a kunai down into her collar.

Seph rose his hands up, nimbly dodge the blades of chakra. One, however, seemed intent on making contact. That was fine with him, though. His arm shot at an angle, sending the chakra blade into the barrier. "It was a mistake coming back in here." He said softly, holding both hands out in front of him. His expression was emotionless as pure chakra forced it's way into his fingertips, quickly spreading through his palms and surrounding his hands with a soft red light.

"Rhaa!" With a loud cry,a wall of chakra rose and threw itself forwards, disintegrating all blades in mid-flight. "Look," She spun, facing Kara. "I'm good at chakra too. It'll take more than that to take me down. And it's not stupid attachment that keeps us here, it's the fact that Nyl is the most selfless person I think I've ever met. I can imagine how deep the love for her goes on the parts of everyone who's been here for years but everytime I needed something, she was there for me. I'm NOT leaving her!"
She glared. "And you, are a home-wrecker if you think of it in the literal sense." She was calculating her chakra, molding it beneath the surface of the skin, reveling in the steady hum of energy. It seeped out quickly, envelopping her body in a blue glow. She launched herself forwards in Neko, Aoi and Nyl's direction. As her body his the barrier she thought for a moment it would reject her but soon she was on the otherside, landing on the grass in a crouch, eyes locking on Nyl. Her energy was weakening.

Kara was taken by surprise, screeching as Reeve stabbed her with the kunai. The chakra barrier's power flickered and weakened as Nami passed through, and then it died altogether.
Aoi frowned. He was starting to slip from the air, as well. He threw Nyl toward the ground forcefully, appearing disgusted.
"Fine. You three can keep her, then." He twisted so that he landed on a tree branch, looking down at them all. "Come, Kara." With a cry, Kara wrenched Reeve off her and rushed off into the forest shadows, Aoi not far behind, though it seemed he was also waiting for Neko.
Nyl hit the ground and rolled a couple feet, coming to a stop lying on her left side. She coughed once, weakly, a small trickle of blood leaking from the corner of her mouth. Other than that, she didn't move.

-=Neko leapt down to Nyl, pouring a great amount of Ijutsu into her, trying to keep her stable as he closed his eyes, a smaller, thicker barrier of chakra encasing him as he worked, pretty sure that he was about to have a few incoming lashings=-
Nyl, please be alright...Can you hear me?.. Just give me a sign, anything.

Panting slightly, Nami crawled the small distance between herself and Nyl. She was still alive, thank the gods but the signature was flickering. "Nyl..." She glared at Neko.
"And you..." She hissed, witholding the urge to hit him. She didn't want to do anything to break his concentration because despite Nyl's lack of response it seemed to be doing some good. She kept her veined eyes trained on Nyl's form.

He climbs to his feet, throwing shuriken at the brightness that was Neko's signature.

Seph was next to Neko immediately, a fistfull of shirt collar, yanking him up and away, his open hand taking hold of Neko's throat. He squeezed tightly, his eyes feral as he marched forward, still gripping Neko's throat. "Traitor!" He screamed.

Nyl made no reply whatsoever to any of them, and Neko's ijutsu bombardment didn't really do much either. She did flinch, barely noticeable, at the word 'traitor,' but it could have been just coincidence.
