TMJ - this actually was my opening thesis.
I got to learn a lot in this tournament. For example, the inertial frame counter attack is too complicated for Free form, even if you explain it from a third person perspective.
I reaffirmed my theory that good aikido is impossible in tournaments, as people will not be able to ascertain what their hands look like going left to right to reverse and back again. I did that move several times, and then let my roommate - a female, try it on me with me grabbing the back of her head and making a fist. My room mate was actually quite furious with the ruling because she knows Noire has an A-line hair cut and noted that while the move is nearly impossible when you have long hair like she does, if the opponent has extremely short hair - like an A-line, then using kotegaeshi works fairly easily, especially if you have a strong grip.
I noticed my opponents super strong knees and kicks and punches were all considered heavy duty and supposed to crush and destroy me, while all my attacks were considered reduced down to essentially bruising or less. In my head half her torso and her upper leg should have been brutally injured, thus when she used that side of her leg to knee me, it didn't make sense for it to do any kind of severe damage.
When my flip kick backfired because I was describing a long gymnastics "horse" rather than a gymnastics "beam" as an example, and thus the judges ruled it was impossible, even though I've seen it in movies and my profile explicitly lists "tricking" as a primary combat style, I started to wonder what the point was.
You people have your own view of things. I have my own view of things. I have explained my view of what happened in the fight. I don't think it's necessary to go into how my character profile was ripped a new one in the help thread.
