Whoa.
I...don't know how many people are in my grade in band. Heck, I don't even know how many are in our bands x_x
If we're talking marching band, we have about 100 people. Concert bands are about 90 people each so...we have like over 200 people in our program, not including jazz band. Whoa.
One day I will count them >_>
@Aelf: DX I've never had the problem of changing directors all the time omg. That must suck. My director's been here since the school opened in 2003. And my grade was the first class my middle school teacher taught how to play waaay back in 6th grade.

iOggy SEVEN. gonk Seven new join requests. I guess the band nerds are migrating back to their computers en masse, now that school's over (or almost so). In unrelated news, I'm getting a laptop. It should be here sometime next week. Thought I would share this. Back in the day, when 7 requests at one time was apparently a lot xD Edit: We were featured for December of 2007 biggrin I read through this thread lol, we were complaining about all of the join requests. (just a little more than 7 xD)

Should I write something in the about the mods sticky thingthing?
Our senior class this year is gigantic. I don't know what we're gonna do after we lose them. I don't know the exact number, but they make up a good portion of our band of...maybe around 85 people, including the color guard. I guess you'd say that we're small...but we're huge compared to a lot of band that we've seen in MD, except this one school in our county. (They have so many people in their band, it looks like there isn't enough room for them to move around on the field. xd )

To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of most of people who graduated with me that were in band (Probably 20, give or take). I only hung out with a select few because most of the others were stuck-up. : / I remember sitting in the same room as them when the seniors were just stuck somewhere at the end of the year, and they were talking about how the rest of the band SUCKED without them. No joke. Of course, the band sounded just fine. And I always wondered why I wasn't part of their little band cliche...Guess I didn't have that "I'm better than everyone else in the entire world" attitude.
Most of my band friends were a grade younger, so they would've just graduated about two months ago.

@Terra: Holy jeez xD The only absolutely GINORMOUS band I've seen is the James Madison University band. THERE'S LIKE 300+ PEOPLE. Dx Or something like that. It's crazy. I thought they were loud when they were facing the other stands. But then when they flipped around and played at the stands I was in...x_o Loudddd.
@Tuba: ...seven? Since I've been a mod, there's always been like either 12 or 13 requests at once, or none at all for a week.
@Tifa: Most of my friends are seniors this year, or are a grade below me. I have very few friends in my own grade. Because 95% of my grade are stuck up idiots who think that I'm a psycho for liking a band none of them have heard of, and I get easily pissed off. It's stupid */complaining*

In my band, all but one person in my grade is basically against me. I've always been draw more to the younger grades anyway (like a year younger, not five). So this year I'll probably befriend the new freshman and build up my army...I mean, circle of friends. mrgreen One day we will rule the band!
Did I mention our clarinet section this year? Get ready for it, it's big...one person! burning_eyes Oh, and our (a**)istent director is back to conquer the band and turn it into a giant drumline. The only instrument I'm aware of him playing is percussion. And he thinks he can "help" us wind players. Yeah right. He is so inconsiderate to the winds! When we have practices inside he tells the drum line to play as loud as they want. No inside voices for them. I feel so bad for the colorguard. In all the recording we give them of us playing, you can barely make out all melody or music at all. It's just a lot of loud, obnoxious drums. evil

My highschool was lucky, we had the best program in north carolina/THE WORLD!
