Through what remained of the back of her shirt, a thin line of light purple scarred tissue was visible, stretching from Maddy's left shoulder down to her right hip. It was the result of her last battle with Josec, admin of Team Shadow. Her whole body was suddenly engulfed in her own purple fire, which normally didn't burn her. But that one line of scarred tissue on her back was vunerable to it, and all she could feel was a seering pain in her back, as if the damage from Josec's attack had been done all over again. At this point, she didn't know which Thard was which, but she ran at a random one, protected by her fire, claws ready.

Maddy guessed right. But just as she was about to take my head off, something suddenly hits me from the side. As I fall to the sand, I turn to see my Flareon, Maul, taking the flaming claw meant for me.
Her Flash Fire ignites, but she took a strong hit from the claws themselves. "Flarrrreee..." Maul growls menacingly at Maddy, trying to protect me.
"Enough!" I shout. "You win, Maddy. I guess my current level isn't enough to overcome your power."

Maddy fell backwards into the sand. The flames died down and left. "Wh... what?" She pressed her hand to her head, as if she were suffering a headache. "I... I'm not supposed to do that..." The scar on her back was paining her. She slowly got to her feet. "I... I guess that works." She blinked a couple times and looked around, as if she didn't remember where she was or what had happened.
