After half an hour of reps with the weights, Abel finished up in the basement. He didn't want to overdo it. Abel turned off the light as he ascended the stairs. He made his way into the kitchen and toward the fridge. Abel opened it and grabbed out a bottle of water. He cracked the seal on the lid and drank half of it down. Abel finished in the kitchen and started to head back up stairs. He didn't know if he should check on Miguel or leave him alone.

Going back to Abel’s room, he climbed back into bed. He should not have gone in there. He was foolish to go in there. He didn’t want to think about Kieran, he was gone and he wasn’t coming back. No use getting sentimental. Jakob sat there, taking deep breaths until he felt a bit calmer. He wondered when Abel was coming back. He’d been down there for over an hour already. Lying back once more, he picked up his phone, it was still too dead to turn on. He set it back down and picked up Abel’s phone instead. He wasn’t bored enough to go snooping through his texts or photos. A part of him doubted that Abel kept anything like that anyway. Instead he merely browsed a few social media sites and watched a couple of cat videos. It was about the most he could do to stay entertained until his side healed.

Entering his bedroom, he saw Miguel was lying in the bed. Abel took note of the clean clothes he was wearing. He figured he'd washed off and found clothes suited to his frame. Abel continued into the room seeing Miguel was also playing with his phone. He crossed the room, "Find something to entertain yourself with?" Abel questioned as he took a seat on the side of the bed. He figured he'd check up on Miguel. Abel couldn't exactly entertain Miguel.

With the man’s phone clutched between his hands, he continued to scour the internet for a shred of entertainment. How he wished that he had one of the books he’d been reading. Reading was one of the few things keeping him sane these last few weeks. For now it seemed that he was going to have to make do. As he laid there, he eventually heard movement in the hall and glanced up as Abel came in. He smiled as the man questioned him and gave a light shrug. ”I might have watched a kitten video or two.” he replied. Jakob watched the male come a little closer and sit down the side of the bed. ”So what about you, where did you run off to?” Jakob wasn’t expecting Abel to stop his routine just because he was hanging out in his room. He understood that he had work to do, bills to pay, and the such. But he liked that he was at least popping in and not completely ignoring him.

Questioning Miguel as he entered the room, Abel heard him respond. He found it amusing as he took a seat beside him on the bed. Abel relaxed against the headboard amongst the pillows. He glanced over at Miguel as he questioned him. Abel couldn't exactly keep Miguel entertained, he wasn't his babysitter. His idea of entertaining a 'guest' only went so far, plus they were usually in his basement not his bed. "I was in the basement, working out." Abel responded as he sat there. He couldn't completely ignore Miguel and leave him by himself.

Jakob relaxed as the man drew near him and took a seat on the bed. He answered the male’s question before soon asking one of his own. It didn’t surprise him that Abel had gone down to the basement. ”Hmm, I suspected as much.” he replied. He couldn’t expect him to stay up here with him every waking hour. He honestly wasn’t even sure Abel ever entertained anyone before. Aside from Kieran, he didn’t know if he had any friends, certainly no lovers, and his sister seemed to come and go as she pleased. He doubted she needed that much attention from Abel when she came by anyway.

Indeed Abel had no lovers, he barely had friends or family. His only family was Kirean and Addy. Abel had grown up in a good family household. His parents had taken care of Addy, Kirean and himself until they were both killed when he was younger. He didn't usually trust people and preferred to keep them at a distance. Abel had no compassion anymore though it was slowly breaking down with Miguel.

He sat on the bed beside Miguel as he relaxed. Abel couldn't completely neglect Miguel to himself. He glanced toward Miguel as he responded. "Yeah, having a knife shoved in your gut makes things hard, which presented in having my muscles weaken." Abel responded as he teased Miguel. He had been unconscious for a few weeks causing his body to atrophy a little. Abel needed to rebuild his muscles carefully as there had been a lot of scar tissue.

Jakob was curious about the man beside him but wondered how much he would offer to him freely. Most times than not he found Abel to be a man of mystery. He supposed that came with the territory when one was a loner. It came as no surprise to him to learn that Abel had been spending time down in the basement. He glanced up towards him and told him as such. Jakob smirked as the male teased him. "Mm yes, I can imagine it's not the greatest experience. But if it's anything like getting shot or sliced, I think I have a small inkling of an idea." he teased back. Jakob had been hurt many times throughout the years, but nothing so major that had caused him to lose organs or fall into a coma. In that sense he had been very lucky. As much as he liked to complain about his current injury, he knew it wouldn't set him back nearly as much. Abel was lucky to have recovered as well as he did. However, he still needed to be careful and not cause his body too much strain. It would only make things more difficult in the long run.

Abel wasn't much about explaining his past. He was beyond it for good reason. It wasn't all that grand but at least he had Kirean and Addy to help him through it. Abel relaxed on the bed beside Miguel as he sat there. He couldn't help his need to keep in shape. Abel wasn't currently in the best state to go against anyone at the moment. He wasn't hiding but still worried. Abel listened as Miguel teased him back. He nodded, "Indeed.." Abel commented as he glanced at Miguel. "So what are your plans for right now?" He asked curiously wondering what Miguel planned on doing since he couldn't do much at the moment. Abel wasn't rushing to get him to leave though it did leave him curious.

In a way, he could understand wanting to keep fit. It certainly made their line of work easier when they were caught in dangerous situations. Though Jakob wasn't exactly the best example of such things. As of late he seemed to be doing nothing but getting hurt. Now running wasn't even an option for him. He could understand Abel worrying about him being there. It wasn't good for either of them, he needed to keep moving. As they teased one another, he felt the man's eyes on him and glanced back as he questioned him. "As to what?" he asked in return, not entirely understanding the question. He had a guess at what he was referring to, but decided to ask instead just to be sure. If it was what he was thinking, he really didn't know what he was going to do. He was running out of city to hide out in. Not only that, he didn't want to cause Abel anymore trouble than he had to. He found that he didn't want Abel getting hurt just as much as he didn't want to see Kieran hurt.

While he was enjoying Miguel's company, there were still things to worry about. He couldn't help but question Miguel. Abel watched as Miguel looked over at him as if he didn't understand his question. "As to what you're planning to do, not that I'm not enjoying your company." He responded as he teased Miguel.

Jakob was at a loss for what he could do. He didn't know what he was doing anymore. He didn't want to leave because he liked the company, having someone with him to talk to and understand what was happening. But he also didn't want to be a burden, at least anymore than he already was. As he questioned the male, he listened to him repeat his words and tease him lightly. Jakob smiled softly and shook his head. "I don't know." he admitted. "I guess, heal obviously. Or at least enough that I'm not pulling stitches with just a few steps. And then, I will need to get back to my hotel room, get my stuff, and probably skip town." Jakob bit his lower lip, unsure if he could even do that much. He wished he could just stay here, avoid all of it, and start over.

Abel too enjoyed the company and having someone to bounce ideas off of. He normally did that with Kirean. Abel perhaps just missed the company. He wasn't looking to throw Miguel out. Abel knew his injuries prevented such things. He listened as Miguel spoke of his plans. Abel found the last part interesting. "And go where?" He asked curiously. Abel knew running away sounded logical but to where. It seemed everyone was merely running away.

It wasn't surprising to think that Abel might be lonely. After spending years of living with Kieran and to suddenly be alone had to be quite the adjustment. There was no telling if the man was coming back or not. Jakob liked to think at some point he might, at least for Abel's sake. He didn't mind being a substitute roommate for the time being, but he couldn't stay forever. As Abel questioned him, he answered honestly with only the roughest of ideas in mind. The next question was to be expected. "Home." he replied. "I don't think Cornelius would follow me half-way around the world. He'll find something or someone else to focus his attention on." Running away wasn't the best way to solve his problems, but Jakob knew that it was for the best he leave the country. He already overstayed his welcome the day his visa expired. As much as he enjoyed his time in the states, he didn't belong here.

Loneliness was easy though he found it hard at times. He could easily find a warm body for sex though sometimes he needed more. It was sad to say he missed Kieran though he had no clue where he was. Abel waited for a response. He listened as he spoke. Abel grew curious about his words. "And where's home?" He asked curiously, having no real history on Miguel.
