Interceptors are nice and all, but they're not mutch good in a dogfight.
They really can't take a hit.

There not meant for dogfights, they are ment for operations.
And nothong really. Just like them alot, and if the TIES get brought through, why not the A-Wings?

They're never called TIE's.
But the design got brought back because its such a staple of the genre and of the Empire.
its the same reason why the Galacic Alliance still uses fighters with folding wings.

For starters I think Celestia and I hashed out that they would be Modified up to modern star fighters due to lack of an effective Bomber in Legacy...
And Des you want me to design a fighter for you?

1. Theres not a lack of 'em. They've just haven been known. And the Crossfire does an ample job of assault fighter duty.
2.And about the B and A wings?
No matter how much you modify a Folker Triplane, it will still get shot down by an F-18 hornet.
3. Ive seen the fighters you make. They're horribly unbalanced and twinked like mad.

There has been a signifigant change in starfighter technology, and no amount of modification is going to beable to help the Awing or Bwing compete against even a novice Predator pilot.
