exp. 99 Fair enough, Ace. Mebbe, just maybe it is more an issue with me. All I've got is my own personal experience to go by, after all. Still, my other points still stand. Also, a judge for my fight with KB would be cool right about now. He and I are pretty much done by this point. So, do you willingly submit or do you want the fight closed for judging?

On an unrelated note: Noire, can I make a comment on the Watchmen pic/caption you linked to?
They actually did get it right. Nite Owl (2nd generation, obviously) was the Batman of the fandom in that his power as a superhero stemmed only from the fact that he had the money to buy gadgets. Yes, Oz had money too, but his chief asset was that he was well learned in... well, everything.

Evil Little Flayer If this is the case, Ross, I'm probably considered "Known" in a few non-rp threads. This rp/tourney scene is new for me. And mind you, my "known" status is only amongst a couple of threads, so I'll just keep myself in the unknown category. QQ It's an IC thing, not an OOC thing, as far as I'm concerned.
When I see your character in some more of the generally-considered-Mainstream areas or events, I'll figure that your character is going to be more likely to have been heard of by NPC's and PC's alike. xD

We need it closed for judging. I consent to closing it.

The latter, Vin. This is a mutual decision, not me giving up. Damn if I'm not going to go as far as I can, I wouldn't have signed up otherwise, y'know?

The Darth Vizzle EDIT:: As an aside, I don't support the idea of "known" characters. I have never liked the idea of that, simply because to me it feels as if others are being ignored in favor of "popular" characters. When a character accomplishes something, such as winning a tournament, it would be known in all the interconnected threads anyways, without needing a list to prove it, because they would all have connection to the event and acknowledged that it happened. No list required. Because this is probably getting lost as an edit to a post that already got bottom paged.

Rosa kinda touched on what I was starting to think, which goes along with standalone threads with the 'mainstream' mark.
We could put to use some kind of mainstream information template for every thread that describes the precise location of (random bar) and other locations that are geographically close.
The template could also state wether or not the location is open to a thrashing by some high-power character or bad guy.
THEN we have a thread that can be used by mainstreamers to let people know what's going on in their corner of the world. Giant monster explodes out of the ground at the firebrand? Post it on the mainstream bulletin board so that people can REACT to it.
Two simple methods of communication that could easily make mainstream happen if we wanted it to.
edit: lolololol, Vin.

Vin: Might fight is over as well, ended in a predictable double K.O.
Close and judge, please.
Edit:
I'm off to do other crap.
Later everyone.

I'm more well known OOCly than ICly.
...probably because when I'm not playing KB I'm either NPC-ing or playing random, small-time characters.

Liquid Lights a thread that can be used by mainstreamers to let people know what's going on in their corner of the world Yes, this. This exactly.
Have the banner link to a thread that works as that. I'd say a guild, but guilds are stagnation.

My Vintrict's character a little over the top cause he has money, wind power, expensive equipment, the power to call on a squad of trained fighters, the president of an independent law enforcement agency with some pretty exceptional law-exceptional capabilities, and is a great gunslinger, not to mention having the innate capabilities of a race other than human. So yeah, he's pretty up there in the tiers of power, which is why I don't use him very often in competitive events. He's like over-developed since he's my first character. I like to keep him to story-orientated stuff.

So, what we all seem to agree on:
Having all the mainstream locations/events being all under a big umbrella of "same continuity" with a banner. And possibly a thread for news.
Let's just go with that, for now. Later on, we can add more.
