What is more interesting is the idea of No. 9. The man that made Megaman started a kickstarter to create a spiritual successor to Mega. Since living Nintendo, Mega has been in something of limbo. Sure, we had 9 and 10, and those are inexorably difficult . . . but no real effort put towards the propery. What caught the attention of those noticing is that the kickstarter exploded with unprecedented support and earned funds faster than anybody could have even imagined.

I am quite excited for this idea.

Yes, Mighty #9 looks like it will be great! I enjoyed all the MM sub-series except for Star Force (and I haven't played Legends), so the gameplay similar to Classic MM is definitely something to look forward to. Capcom doesn't even seem to care about the franchise that used to be one of their biggest moneymakers...

Again, I believe that is because the lead designer/creator of it left the company. Without his input, I have to wonder if anybody either wants to make more, or if they are competent to do more than just copy. Megaman has a very simple formula, but it would be easy to screw up.

Me . . . I want more X games. I loved the more adult feel of Megaman X. Plus, it gave me one of my most beloved weapons ever . . . the X2 upgrade for armor that soaked up a fraction of damage whenever you were hit. Once full- you fired it all at once and nuked the entire screen. Now THAT was a weapon. twisted

Very true.

Oh yes, the armors in the X series were so much fun (even if they got a little ridiculous by X5 and on). I also really enjoyed the dark but not depressing tone of the Zero series. The Battle Network series was a fun dip into a RPG/Pokemon style of game.

*confuzzled* Huh? Thanks for what?

I will agree that when they started with multiple armors it got out of control. I would prefer it be kept to two . . . and you could mix and match the armor pieces. that would be fine by me. X's arm cannons mixed with X2's chest armor- Armory!

I won one of your auctions.

Yes, that combo would be awesome. I did enjoy the later X games letting you control Zero, though rarely were the levels truly designed to be played by either maverick hunter.

I freely admit that X4 is one of my favorite games . . . and that I vastly prefer to play as Zero. It was interesting to gain techniques rather than new weapons from most of the Mavericks. Unfortunately, in order for both to be playable in a stage, you cannot overspecialize for either. sweatdrop

X4 was really a great game, with Zero's extra moves really changing up the gameplay. Sadly, the X series went downhill fast after X4.

Agreed . . . I paid no attention to the series after 4. That is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the series. Something like the fourth Indiana Jones movie- most of the fandom just refuses to acknowledge any more than the existence.

I'm getting in a MegaMan mood again... I may just have to pop some of them up for a play through.

I just grabbed the Elder Scrolls Anthology (1 - 5 with all expansions/DLC) for $30! I already own 2-4; but all of 5, as well as Steam Keys for 3 and 4, and 1 and 2 working again on modern machines with DOSBox is just too good to pass up.

Kinda hard to scratch that itch with anything else . . .

I just started Starcraft II Heart of the Swarm, and after playing through Warcraft III lately, the upscale in graphics is like a slap in the face of awesome.

True, but Gunstar Heroes does a decent job (it's an old run-and-gun).

Ah, very nice. Hm, SC2 isn't too expensive right now...

I love W3. The storytelling and gameplay are just perfect. Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind and Warcraft 3 are what made me get my first graphics card.
Plus, without W3 we wouldn't have the entire DOTA/MOBA sub-genre. xp

Well, I saw it in the same store I purchased it from . . . and it is back up to $40. Glad I snagged the last copy at $15!

Just finished Heart of the Swarm, and it was most interesting. I found myself truly enjoying some of the choices. Several of the units could mutate into a secondary form permanently. For instance, zerglings, the foot soldiers of the zerg army, have the opportunity to mutate. This is permanent- meaning after you choose, every zergling you make after this will be this way. I chose to add wings to mine so they could leap over terrain.

When given the choice, you play out a quick mini-map of both mutations before you choose. That way you get what you prefer, and know how they work. SO much better than just a description.
