Took a couple of starting flaps to get himself airborn and Arekku jumped on just as Aro took off, getting up to speed with reaper, but high above the waves. "You're doin' great Aro." the Aerodactyl liked his little praise and flew straighter than he had been.

"Surfing will just take longer, but ok!" With that, Maddy jumped onto Jocasta's back and they took off, Star following close behind them.
Soon enough, they had made there way safely to the desert of Route 111. Maddy stood there at the edge of the vast expanse of barren and sandy landscape. She watched as the roaring wind carried sand in all directions. "Did I bring the goggles?" She asked, half to herself. She began to look through her backpack for them.

Arekku sood in awe of the vast sandy desert area, "Can only wonder what we'll find... Hey Maddy, what pokemon live here?" Aro finally landed not too far behind them. Arekku returned Aro. Ven caught up to them not too long after.

Maddy found the goggles and handed each of them a pair. "Put those on. You need them to protect your eyes." She thought about Arekku's question for a bit. "I believe you could find Sandshrew, Trapinch, Cacnea and Baltoy here. Anyways, I need you guys to wipe out 2-3 Pokémon you may find around this area. Stay close. Oh, and feel free to catch one!" She told them before walking a little ways. She felt weird, wearing the goggles, but they were necesscary.

Arekku threw the goggles on and followed Maddy in, he let Donovan out because of his immunity to the sand storm. Arekku noticed that every now and then his foot would move deeper than expected and it would take a second to pull it out. At one point he saw what looked like a large mouth, he quickly pulled his foot out and started walking fatser.

Maddy wandered for a bit, staying close to the area she had indicated. She spotted a Trapinch hiding in the sand. "Simple enough." She threw out a Pokéball and out popped Raine. Raine gave a cute little yawn. "About time you let me out!" She said, turning to the Trapinch, which was now just noticing her. Raine conjured up a bunch of flashy leaves and sent them flying at Trapinch. The foe cried out with pain, and countered by latching onto Raine with it's disproportionate jaws. "Get off me!!" Raine cried. Her tiny fists glowed with icy energy as she punched Trapinch off her. The Pokémon howled and hurled a bunch of rocks at the tiny Ralts. "Hang in there, Raine!" Maddy called to her companion as she threw an Aqua Ball at her foe. Trapinch was absorbed into the balls clutches. Shake... Shake... Shake... ... Ding! Trapinch was caught! Maddy retreived the ball that contained her new pal and went to search for another foe.

Arekku had watched Maddy's catch all the while another Trapinch had been closing in on him and he didn't notice untill the pokemon was about to chomp down on his leg. Donovan had though and swung his large tail around in an Iron tail attack, it didn't do much damage but moved the smaller pokemon away. Trapinch recovered and came back at Donovan with a headbutt, didn't doo much but made him flinch which was enough for Trapinch to dive under the ground in a Dig attack, Donovan couldn't dodge because of how slow he moved in the sand. The attack did a fair amount of damage, but not enough, Donovan opened his mouth and launched a blue ball which was followed by a slightly large amount of water in a Water Pulse attack. Trapinch passed out and was burried under the sand as Arekku and Donovan continued on.

Maddy tumbled out of the way as a stream of sand was shot at her. She whipped around and noticed a Sandshrew had approached her. She sent out Syuviel, it had been a long time since he had been in a battle. Syuviel began with a devastating Leaf Storm. His special attack was weakened, but Sandshrew took the most damage. Sandshrew countered by furiously swiping at Syuviel with his claws for a series of 4 hits. Syuviel quickly ended the battle by slashing the tiny shrew Pokemon with the sharp blade-like leaves that protruded from his arms. "Good work!" Maddy said, returning her partner. "I think I've done enough for now. I'll wait for the others." She went over and sat on a rock, waiting.

Reaper: Togepi, use water pulse! * a wave of water was sent towards the trapinch causeing major damage, then the trapinch used faint attack, causeing damage*
Reaper: OK 1 more water pulse should do it! *another wave of water was sent towards the trapinch and fainted it*

Arekku and Donovan come upon what looks like a large toy top that a child would play on, it was just standing there, doing nothing. The two began to walk around it but Donovan was blasted by a light blue wave of energy, Psychic. It didn't cause much damage, but sure surprised Donovan and Arekku. Arekku looked at the toy again realizing that it wasn't a statue or a toy, it was a Baltoy. "Bal." The pokemon said and hopped quite a far distance backward ready to fight. Donovan obliged and shot a Water Pulse to the waiting pokemon across the way. It was easily dodged by a single hop over the wave. The Baltoy seemed to glow and used Psychic just after. It hit and caused Donovan to faint. Arekku said, "What just happened!?" He thought about anything he knew about Baltoy then remembered his father's favorite strategy was to use Power Trick to rase attack with a defensive pokemon and raise defanse with an offensive pokemon.
"Alright! Lets go Glint!" She came out into battle, looking rather tough for the little softie she was. Baltoy moved first, using Rock Tomb to encase the glint, she dodged at the last second by moving outward and hopping up as the pillars of rock came to close her in. She launched an unexpected Ice Beam and hit the Baltoy, freezing it's lower half to the ground and doing a nice chunk of damage. The pokemon began struggling to get out and Glint ran in quickly to attack with Chomp, she managed but just after the opponent used Power Trick again to raise his defense. He barely hung on.
Arekku pulled a pokeball from his book bag and tossed it, hitting the Clay Doll pokemon. The ball wriggled three times and... ding! Baltoy was caught. Arekku walked over and pulled the pokeball out of the little ice suclpture. He then returned Glint and continued on.
