I.E.- I want to be in my plot, not their plot.
Mind=blown.
Because no one feels that way.

Old Man KB Eh? If you show up to the tournament, fight, then leave and don't stick around the guild for anything... you aren't going to be very involved in the plot. Exactly. :3 Quote: When I say the "BIG" plot I mean the Vahn-Vahn-Vahn's Friends plot about Vahn and his evil twin, and the end of the world, and all that jazz. The actual plot of the tournament is meaningless to me because... it's a tournament, the Levi has always been a Stadium, so a tournament just makes sense. I see where your mistake is with that. You're confusing the plot of HoH with the plot of Eden/Destruction. The whole thing about Vahn, Sierra, Vahn's brother and all of that is all part of a Levi plot that a few people have been participating in on and off. Right now I don't know what it's status is, or whether or not it'll even continue since the people behind the plot are understandably busy with their real lives. Quote: I don't go digging around in the inner-workings of HoH searching for conspiracy or ideals because it doesn't interest me. I'm more into seeing my old friends and getting a chance to roleplay with them a bit, and the fact that it brings the community together annually. HoH is always an impressive sight. EDIT: Granted I've never played KoF, and have no desire to. And that's exactly my point. The plot of the tournament itself has to do with the Foundation and Noah. That's what all of the story mode posts talk about. If you aren't interested in that, then you're probably not interested in the plot of HoH at all. ._. But thats not a horrible thing, because as you said it's a way to bring people together and interact in an environment. It's big because people make it big, just as this year's GTB has been pretty big because of all the people its attracted. It's the people who RP in an event that make an event what it is.

Vin: Is that plot now?
Cool!
My first plot!
4laugh
I've tried many times, and it finally worked out!
Sey: Yes. I have everything laying around here some where. But then again, who doesn't have a bounty hunter?

I think that the OOC threads are the things that are good about tournaments. These places are the hubs of this little RP fighter subculture we've got going here.
Maybe Vent is good too, I don't know, I have never desired to hear any of your voices.

Be wary of plots with Sey. It may involve unexpected stuff like little kids or a giant dragon.

Ryugi was the only member of the staff working on story.
I think he wanted to handle it himself, and none of us were terribly interested in the story anyways. I think it was he and Maximos, for the most part. Ecks might have helped some here and there. Dash, Desi, and I had no part in the story; we supported it but concentrated more on the actual tournament.

Indeed, Tenkai. I'm not sure if people who complain about being part of the "plot" of HoH are aware of that distinction. Since if you want to be involved in the former you have to be fairly tight-knit to even understand whats going on. For the Noah thing it seems a lot more digging.
*Shrugs*
I have a bounty hunter. I wish I could use him instead of being a COOL GUY, but, I guess I can hold off. Since, y'know, I'm such a swell dude.

For example, hearing Crawley sound white even when he's black.

I agree with Sok on the whole being feeling like you're being ignored thing, but it's not really from the IC standpoint.
I think it's very discouraging because unless you're one of the cool kids, you normally get ignored in the OOC. If you get ignored there, even when you're just asking simple questions because people are busy spamming their memes, you kind of don't want to waste your time making a post that you feel will just get ignored, true or not.
I think that's probably the biggest hurdle for HoH plot, it really does feel like a closed off community.
