Sokoya Ramak Old Man KB Ryu is a cool kid. HoH is generally one of those things where you get what you put into it, though. People don't really like that much because it means trying to butt in on the "Levi People" crowd to roleplay. Since... all the Levi People have known each other and roleplayed together for years, so their characters have histories. It's not like we all just ran into each other and decided to form a posse and exclude everyone else. The problem stems from when I tried to get directly involved in the plot, going so far as to even quote the person I was trying to react to... They then blatantly ignored me, 'cause I'm a noname. how are you a noname? you're a chick with an eyepatch. That should have gotten you at least to the semifinals. Trust me, HoH is all about stereotypes style.

Michael Noire how are you a noname? you're a chick with an eyepatch. That should have gotten you at least to the semifinals. Trust me, HoH is all about stereotypes style. If Vahn is Sol from Guilty Gear, then I'll just play a trap and make a lot of people question their sexualities.

Old Man KB Well... the plot of HoH is basically "win the tournament" with character interaction. If you want to get into the BIG plot you need to go back several years and maintain a constant presence in the Levi. Hell, even then, only like... 3 people are actually involved in the plot to end all plots. Ryu's plot for HoH was eh. I like that he tried, but I don't think its his gift. I'd beg to differ. For the past three years I've not even gotten past round 1, and managed to get more involved in the plot than the people who won the previous tournaments. And believe you me, the people behind the plot are aware that people feel they need to be some big well-known person or a fight winner to get involved in the plot, and they don't like that mindset at all. If people were more interested/involved in the tournament's plot in 09, more stuff would have happened. It's probably the whole focus on "winning the tournament" that detracts from the whole KOF-ish plot to begin with. Ryugi did try, and I have a lot of respect for that. It does take courage to do something new like that and go out on a limb. But I honestly think he should have just worked with the others and worked from what was built over the previous tournaments rather than feeling there was no plot previously.

Vintrict Tenkai Matsumoto Oh come on, Vin. Are you -sure- I'm the only one who can do it? I'm sure there are others who can do just fine. And I didn't do decent enough in 08. I was still overcoming a lot of faults. I didn't say I -wouldn't- compete, Vin. I said odds were unlikely unless I found a team that was mostly composed of people after the same thing Tenkai was after. Why do you think Tenkai teamed up with Chen in the first place? What I'm saying is that we're not on the same page in goals, basically. Like, I feel like I'm stopping you from doing your thing and you're doing the same to me. Which is natural. Which is why it does seem better if I let you go and do what you want to do and I'll do the same. ...Chen's goal isn't to investigate the Foundation? ._.

Eh?
If you show up to the tournament, fight, then leave and don't stick around the guild for anything... you aren't going to be very involved in the plot. When I say the "BIG" plot I mean the Vahn-Vahn-Vahn's Friends plot about Vahn and his evil twin, and the end of the world, and all that jazz. The actual plot of the tournament is meaningless to me because... it's a tournament, the Levi has always been a Stadium, so a tournament just makes sense.
I don't go digging around in the inner-workings of HoH searching for conspiracy or ideals because it doesn't interest me. I'm more into seeing my old friends and getting a chance to roleplay with them a bit, and the fact that it brings the community together annually. HoH is always an impressive sight.
EDIT: Granted I've never played KoF, and have no desire to.

The Darth Vizzle If you were quoting an NPC, Sok, it was Ryugi. I think some people were noting that he wasn't catching everyone, which, to be fair, is hard with a crowd THAT big. He was the only member of staff effectively working on the story and using the NPCs (except Ecks, who I think may have done some NPCing to help move things along). Why was Ryugi the only member of staff effectively working on the story?

Wasn't it because he designated himself to be the plot guy?

HoH has a plot, fighting the man and exposing the fights that are rigged/bought. if its deeper than that I'm missing so many more plot devices.

Tenkai Matsumoto ...Chen's goal isn't to investigate the Foundation? ._. He doesn't have any leads, so he went off to do his other cases. One about to be with Roen and his little mass murdering. Point is, I'm not that interested anyway in HoH's plot and rather have one made during the tournament. An overall plot is cool and all, but I rather make one that I can get involved early in rather than coming in late game. In other words, I want a plot that I'll enjoy more having a more important role. So even if my story isn't as important compared to someone else's, it'll be important to me and those involved.
