"I should probably go talk to the other priests..." Seto said, tensing slightly. "You want to come with me? It'll be boring, but I'm not sure if it'd be a good idea to let me out of your sight until.... oh, maybe five months."

Seto nodded and headed outside, going slow at first so Ayira could catch up. It didn't take long before they ran into Mahado, who had actually been seeking them out. "Seto! I heard you were back, but..." Mahado said, looking genuinely surprised. He smiled, but his eyes were cold. "Really, though, after what happened to your father, I thought you wouldn't feel welcome here." Seto tilted his head to the side, examining the other priest. "Yes, well, I've had plenty of time to think over everything. It wasn't my first instinct to come back, but here I am. The pharaoh, it seems, has been screwing things up here. What have you been doing to help him?"

Ayira smiled softly at the priest she hadent met before. She was quiet staying before seto.

Mahado glanced at Ayira, then at Seto. "Wasn't she supposed to be married to the pharaoh? Whatever happened to that arrangement?" Even if Ayira hadn't met him, clearly Mahado knew of Ayira.

Mahado nodded. "Right. It probably isn't needed anymore. Did you see Nanu, by the way? She has the Millennium Eye now." Mahado said, watching Seto closely. "She's a priestess, so the pharaoh can marry her without worries. I know how you used to nag him about that kind of thing. You sure that arrangement is fine by you, Seto?" He seemed to be trying to provoke Seto. Honestly, he just wanted to make sure it was the same priest he was talking to. Seto shrugged at Mahado. "It certainly isn't my affair any longer. If the pharaoh wishes to marry Nanu and make her queen, then what can I say to him? He is pharaoh, after all. Now, if you'll excuse me, Ayira and I were going somewhere..." He took a hold of Ayira's hand and tried to edge past Mahado, but the other priest hadn't quite finished the conversation. "You were gone for longer than I thought you would be gone. Atem had the men out searching almost all the villages and towns. Where had you been, Seto?" Mahado had his ideas, as did the others. For a while, it had been the main gossip of the court, because not many other things were going on. "Shada says you left the country. I know you wouldn't feel right in doing that. Were you with the thief? I think you were. Of course, if you were, I'll have to report to the pharaoh. He may trust you, but I don't. I think you're a traitor, Seto."

"You know your hair looks like a wig...Are you really bald?" Ayira asked "You seen like a bald type..." Shereached up and gently tugged on his hair "Oh it's real. You should shave it." She then smiled to seto "Come we have many more things to do!" she was able to slip away from mahado holding onto seto's hand.

Seto was silent as he let himself be pulled away by Ayira. Once out of earshot of Mahado, he let out a growl. "That incompetent a*****e... He's probably going to go to the pharaoh later and tell him some bullshit story and try to get me in trouble. He never liked me-- he never thought it was fair that I became a priest. He thought I only got it because I was Akhenaden's son."

Seto smiled slightly. "I'm not very popular around here, if you can't tell. I'm probably going to have to rat Bakura and his family out if things don't go well for me. Just as a forewarning."

Seto smiled faintly. He wouldn't like having to betray Bakura, but if it had to be done, then it had to be done. He wouldn't jeopardize his position and their safety for the thief, no matter what had changed. "Now there's two priestesses, I guess. Want to go meet Isis?"
