GalaxyCommander haha in Afghanistan suicide bombers found that going against marines they normally dont get to explode themselves where they want. Live footage like some of the stuff we are shown of live footage of terrorists getting shot the hell up. Or marines being killed. It's not pretty and honestly the impressions brought b movies glorify the extent and the "gore" is on two different levels. This is why I was wondering. I can relate, the whole outlook of war changes in realism. I went through 5.5 months of national guard boot camp a couple years ago, and in our "kick back" time our cadre showed us live footage of A LOT of things that were going over there.
The damned coolest vid I ever saw was of a M82 Barrett blowing off an Iraqi's arm over a few miles away....

Have you seen the scout sniper vid? Where in Baghdad two scouts annihilate a guard from a really far distance. He's standing here and the snipers are on either side of him. The first round hits his chest blowing a decent sized hole the second richochetes off the ground and removes a leg.

Awesome cool
Sadly, I've never seen that one. Most of the vid's they showed us were of compilations of buildings, hostiles, and even a random cow or two getting blown to bits with godsmack playing in the background.

This movie is to discourage the boot camp maggot from wanting and doing everything to go to war immediately and be a god of war (most likely end up dead). It was to Disturbed the Sickness and show mostly just real live Gore that is all considered censored to the public. Beacuse down to Earth people don't want to see what war is really about. They all glamorize that they do because they pull their knowledge from movies and books. But in reality it is not pretty, fun and has utterly nothing glamourous about it. It's deppressing, scary, and a hell that no one wants to experience. Why do you think the new biggest sickness in the military or veterans is people who suffer mental sicknesses from it?

NEW biggest sickness? s**t....Show me someone that's gone to a war ((Actual war...)) and not come back a little messed up in the head. All the movies and books produced, is the military trying to drag in more human fodder...the past few years it's been losing social support and our last "war" just fed some fuel to these hot heads out there, that think putting a bullet between someones eyes is cool. The military is comprised of three or four types of people, you have the honorable ones that truly want to defend there country till the end and will die for there families. Then you have the ones that cant afford to live so they do a few push-ups for food...and last but not least, you have the crazy ones that just feel like shootin something...

You missed the Fourth and the Fifth. The fourth are the religious archetypes. The ones that believe this is their destiny or that a greater being sent them henceforth. And the Fifth is it's their way of life. Their parents parents where in the military and raised them to be in the military. They never knew anything different.
Honestly I can't say I fall within any but don't fall within all of those category's. lol #1 I am honorable who joined because there would be no greater honor than serving as the greatest fighting force in the world for my country but I can accept nothing less than the best because it is my honor and my code. #2 My mother committed psychological abuse to my sibling and myself for 9 years but it was apparent she hated me the most. My Dad was not much better but to the point where he made religion responsible for every fabric of happening down to a persons reactions to something (thus the fourth as well) (Also marines don't really work on push ups push ups are a warm up) #3 I have done martial arts and practiced the art of the blade since I was 2 years of age and thus I have always known I would fight in war be it with guns or swords there I would be. #4 partly explained only my personality is that I feel incredibly sad seeing people suffer. Hell most people know I have suffered things most never will. Thus I try to help those suffering. I made a lot of people happy and helped many through problems that could and or would have cost them their lives. Wanting to make my dad happy because he blamed me for all his mistakes when he was a kid and him saying that God wanted me in the military I followed the rest of my instincts and joined. This both pleased him and made him disown me. I have since lost any hope of trying to be friends with him he is a maniac. #5 the only male in my family who has not served his time is indeed my own father. We have military Kilt's passed down in my family as a sign of manhood that has been done along with a family bible and now many other family heirlooms since the early 1500's My dad was frowned upon but the whole package was put onto me the day I walked out of boot camp in My Alpha's Now before I get out I will go and shed my share of blood both of mine and Mine Enemy's before I leave the Marine corps. My unit is a grunt unit. My destination is Afghanistan. What more needs to be said, Other than yes it's the front lines, where blood is shed on a daily basis.
Yet aside from all of that. My heart died my Junior year of High school when my Fiancé was killed by a drunk driver in a head on collision. So I at least have little to loose. I've already lost my family, the one I care for the most. My dad in his anger threw away my trilogy's novels every accomplishment of my life. All I have is a family Token which I have already signed to my uncle who is far more deserving granted he was both Navy and Army. I have I think three friends in the world, who would be crushed if I where to leave. No I'm not suicidal. I'm pretty sure in July- August next year I will be on these same channels leaving messages as though my life is perfectly fine, and yet again. I have paid with blood since the day I was born to get where I am and I plan on staying. Most marines can acquit to that. Not all some are p***y's and never should have joined. I have not met anyone who fully falls within any of the category's within the Marine corps. We are all equally insane.
Ooh Rah!!
Congratulations on graduating BTW! I know a lot who didn't Hopefully you don't stop though keep going further your education and accomplish your dreams no matter what the cost. It will pay out better in the end.
