Katie strolled through the heart of the city where there seemed to be a lot of business with trades and such. As hot as the day was there was a nice breeze coming in off the water. It was a welcoming feeling over her hot, sticky skin.
Her chestnut brown hair was hanging loosely down her back. She was geared in her armor. It was nothing uncharacteristic for her. It was rare to see her wearing anything but that. Her sword was sheathed, hanging across her back, its length made it hard not to notice.
She strolled into the market, passing each vendor with not too much interest, except for one that was selling cold beer. She was rather thirsty, so she stopped to buy a cold one.
Her height gave her the advantage to see over everyone's heads, but her muscular build had her turning sideways to avoid any collisions. She'd accidentally run into an old woman once in a crowd, knocked her clean off of her feet. It was rather embarrassing.

Xehart was simply making his way through, eying up a few potential people he could mug, when he noticed the giant in the crowd. A smile crossed his face as he noticed her, not a bad specimen for a human, not bad at all. Certainly taller than the rest of the humans, a trait appreciated in the Empire, and she looked...well built...to be sure.
Xehart made his way through the crowd, much faster than Katie would be able to move. His movements were filled with grace and precision as he traveled past people. It was an art-form how Xehart moved when he wanted to, years of practice placed into just the most basic movements.
By the time Xehart reached Katie his olive skin shimmered with the sweat that had formed on its surface, making Xehart look otherworldly in the heat, creating a nice shimmer around his image. He was still dressed in his black pants and sleeveless shirt, so there was plenty of skin visible to anyone who was looking. His swords were also slung low around his waist.
As Xehart prepared to speak to Katie he also prepared a persona to portray. None of that farm boy crap anymore, he couldn't deal with the idiocy. He needed something he could use to manipulate people, someone they'd learn to respect.
"You should be careful where you step, I hear the old women around these parts are quite the fighters."
Xehart said this in a friendly enough tone, his emerald green eyes staring straight at Katie's as he said this. He ran a hand through his black hair as he said this, the sweaty hand causing the hair to stand up even more than it already was.

Katie was taking a sip of the cold beer, experiencing extreme bliss when Xehart appeared. She'd noticed him over the rim of the cup as he moved through the crowd towards her. She remembered the man from Firebrand for whatever brief moments they had encountered. Slowly, she lowered the cup, wiping the back of her hand across her mouth.
"Oh yeah? I'd have to see that with my own eyes or I don't believe it."
Her eyes met his at that point. She set the cup back down on the table of the merchant she'd just bought the beer from. The cup was already empty. She had gulped its contents down rather quickly.
"What can I help you with?"
There had to be a reason he decided to speak with her. There was almost always motive behind someone just approaching to talk.

Xehart watched as she gulped down the beer that would have taken some men a while to drink. He was almost disgusted with how fast that quantity of alcohol had been drank, but he remained composed with his facial features. He smiled a little at the large women, before folding his arms over his chest.
"Nothing really, just a little lost in the big city. You seemed like an interesting enough person to come and talk to."
Xehart was really looking to cause some trouble, maybe not trouble to give grievance to Katie, but certainly trouble involving her. He wouldn't let her know that, Xehart didn't even know what he had planned at that moment in reality, he was sure that sometime later a plan for trouble would arise.

Katie would raise an eyebrow. For some reason she didn't believe what he was saying, but she really didn't trust a whole lot of people. It was just something she'd learned over the years of traveling. She'd be stupid to believe he didn't have a motive with speaking to her.
"You are lost, but you thought I looked interesting enough to talk to?"
She thought this was funny. He was the slow one if he thought she was going to fall for that one.

Xehart paused for a moment as Katie repeated what was said. Xehart looked down at the floor, nodded quietly to himself, before looking back up into Katie's eyes.
"That sounds like what I said. Unless you don't think you're interesting enough to be talked to, if that's the case, then I'll just be on my way."
Xehart unfolded his arms and began to look away from Katie and further down the street, as though some new interesting object had caught his attention. He was hoping she wouldn't just let him walk away, that would be no fun, no fun at all.

When the man would look down that almost answered Katie's question. He was hiding something. He had to avert his eyes so that she couldn't see what truth lied behind them.
"If you insist, though I didn't say you had to leave."
She'd simply shrug at this point, letting him decide whether or not to leave. She had the 'whatever' attitude going on, which seemed to be part of her attitude as of recently. She crossed her arms over her chest, giving off more of this attitude.

Xehart gave the nicest laugh he could, bearing the situation, which was an admirable attempt at a laugh, all considered. He looked back at Katie and smiled at her again.
"It's not that I want to leave, you just seem to want me to leave, and I wouldn't want to be a burden."
Xehart then looked down the street one more time, before turning to face Katie yet again.
"Look, I see a tavern somewhere up the road, do you want to head there to talk, it sure beats the middle of a hot sweaty market."

Katie glanced up the road towards the tavern that Xehart was pointing at. It would beat standing out in the heat, and she really didn't see what it could hurt just to go have a drink or two. She'd finally shrug.
"Sure. I would like to get out of this heat for a few."
She would then just start walking in the general direction that he pointed, expecting him to follow. The tavern shouldn't be that hard to spot, she guessed, not from where she was standing anyway.

Xehart followed Katie as she slowly moved through the crowd. It was probably better that he followed, he didn't need to rush through the crowd and leave her behind, but then again, she would probably be able to see him with her height, the same reason that she was in the lead right now.
Eventually the two of them would reach the tavern, Xehart rushed ahead of Katie as she got closer to the door, and gently held it open for her. With a slight bow motion, and the wave of his hand towards the interior he spoke.
"Ladies first"
Xehart waited for Katie to go in the door, his gaze remaining at the floor as he held the door open. He could already feel the stale heat from the building inside, perhaps he would modify his heat receptors, at least while inside this building.

Katie would furrow her brow when Xehart rushed ahead to get the door. She walked passed him, mumbling a thanks. She really had the impression he was trying to set her up for something or get on her good side.
Once she stepped inside, she would groan. The tavern was stifling. It barely had any ventilation. She moved to the bar and ordered a cold beer. At least that would keep her cool.
After she ordered she would turn to Xehart and cross her arms.
"It's worse in here than outside."
She didn't like to complain, but she didn't like to be stuck in a room with no cross breeze.

Xehart was growing bored with all the complaining that the woman was doing. This was turning out to be a lot less fun than he had intended. He looked at the women and then at the barman. On second thought, he didn't want an alcoholic beverage.
"I didn't realize it'd be so hot in here when I pointed it out, I'm sorry."
Perhaps there was a tone of acidity in what he said, the way he said it could be interpreted as a sincere apology, or an acrid remark. Xehart looked at the scenery in the tavern, it was quite terrible in here. He regretted coming in here now.

"It's all right. I'll get over it. I'm still waiting for you to be honest and tell me your true intentions. It'd make this conversation go a whole lot easier."
Katie would smile at this point. She knew she had him there. He couldn't deny it. If he did, well, she was going to continue to be this way towards him, with her 'whatever' attitude. She didn't care for people that weren't straightforward.
The bartender slid a glass of beer towards her. She grasped it, smiling her thanks. The glass was cold. It was a welcoming feeling. Tipping the glass back, she took a sip.

Xehart looked at Katie for a moment, considering what he should say, and then a smile crossed his features. Perhaps it was best that he just be honest, that might be fun in itself.
"I'm an elite warrior from a long forgotten people that have come to this land to rid it of the living. I'm also a cold blooded killer, and on my way here I've already killed numerous people in order to get what I want.
When I saw you in the street I decided that I might have some fun that wasn't to do with spilling blood and approached you. Since then, I've been lying trying to cover up my real personality."
Xehart looked at her with the same smile he had begun the conversation with. She'd either laugh and think it was a joke, or react in some other way, Xehart couldn't even begin to think how. He watched her body with his senses, and his eyes for any movements in her arms, specifically a strike, or a move towards her sword. Xehart didn't expect that, but then again, humans sometimes reacted odd after knowing they're sitting next to a killer.

Katie didn't make any strange movements, but she was mulling over what he had said. She stared at her glass, swishing the contents around in it. Being the warrior that she was she should just punch him in the face, but instead she gulped down her beer, squeezing her fingers tightly around the glass. When she finished the beer, she put it back on the bar.
"Cold blooded killer, eh? Well, I don't associate with your types."
Her eyes narrowed down at him. If he was smart he'd just leave before she decided to start slicing and dicing.
