So I've been looking into buying a digital camera for a while and don't really have any clue what to get. I'd like to go to a store where I could play around with some, test the weight and stuff, but I don't know where I would find one around here. I've only ever seen cameras on display at Walmart, and they're always busted. So I've been looking around Amazon. Decided I want a Cannon, but still not sure which model. I mean... I wanted either a purple or blue camera that is small and has good ISO. And the one I had kinda settled on only came in black or pink. But I found a purple one that is slightly larger and has much better optical zoom, but I don't know how the extra size/weight will really affect me if I can't see it...
So. I made the stupid mistake of asking my dad if he knew anything about digital cameras. He's the only person in my family that is even moderately tech-savvy and I thought he could give me advice. Or offer to let me borrow one of his (he has, like, three) for this class project I kind of need a digital camera for until I get the chance to go to the camera store I know that is a bit of a drive and try things out.
No advice. No borrowed camera. He went online and bought me one. And paid for rush delivery. Now I'm upset because I wanted to pick it out and I really don't want him spending money on something like that when I don't think he even bought what I would have wanted. And my mom is upset because it was supposed to be my birthday present from her (and yes, that was 6 months ago, but, like I said, I have no idea where to go around here to test them out).
I really should know better than to say anything about needing something to my dad by now, but dammit. I TOLD him I'd been doing research and was trying to decide between two different models - I didn't tell him which and I sincerely doubt that is what he picked. And I emphasized that my mom wanted to buy it and was already annoyed I was taking so long picking one. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that last part - it's probably why he did buy one. He always did have to try to outdo her on holidays.
Agh. I just can't stand it. I know there isn't jack s**t I can do about how frivolous he is with money, but I'd at least not like to feel like I'm contributing to it.

*eyeroll* And this girl wonders why people dislike talking to her...stop whining all over Facebook about how much you wish it was your wedding day and just congratulate the girl whose wedding day it IS. Or hey, just don't say anything. Please.
I want this coat SO BAD but I have lots of coats/jackets already and it doesn't get that cold here. =(

Sevi: *hugs* =(
Pazzy: I have the exact opposite problem. I really like this purple peacoat from Penny's, but it doesn't look very warm, and I already have a cute coat that I can freeze my a** off in when it starts to snow. If I buy a new coat, it should be warm for a change. Then again... I see that it is marked down to $40 on the website, and they still have my size in the color I want... (Edit: LULZ. Or not. Added it to my shopping bag to see if free shipping applied from the website or just the catalogue, and it said it was unavailable.)
Ugh. Need to finish cleaning the living room. My dad is coming up tomorrow either to go to a movie or look at cameras. I'm not sure how we're supposed to do the latter, because there aren't really any camera stores around here. He said we could look online. LOL. I've been doing that for six months. At least he's not upset I'm returning the one he bought me.

Egh... I really wish I'd bought Gaia-sama back when it was 2 mil, but I couldn't wrap my head around paying that much for one pose and I figured I'd lose interest and/or the price would drop. But I still want those lips and the price has quadrupled. May be time to bust out an old letter.

Yeah I'm having all kinds of regrets about not buying things that were like 300k that are now 2m, things like that. Now when I see an item I want, if it's in the <500k range and I think I want it, I just buy it. If it never goes up, fine, but then I'm set if it does rise into the millions. =w=;

I just realized that with the way a couple of my letters have inflated and the way the rose corsage has failed to (maybe due to limited rerelease in RIGs), I might be able to afford one. And there are three for sale now. (Edit: Make that one. Godamned necros.)
But... it doesn't look as impressive as I remember. It layers under my current hair and I don't know if I'd actually use it. I think at this point I am wanting it merely out of habit. So would getting one after seven years still be awesome because of that habit or will I regret it when it goes with nothing?

"...help Gaia get nominated for a Mashable Award for Best Website User Experience."
No.
Gaia 'fixes' things that aren't broken, breaks features that are fine, neglects things that haven't been updated in years, and in my opinion is nowhere near being labeled as a best user anything.
Bah.

Bah.And that it seems more focused to provided items for the Cash shop than regular items just for the greed.

LOL. I love all of the baw over "paying to disable ads" in the SF. We've been able to do that for as long as ads have been on Gaia, and these dumbasses just found out about it because they extended what can be bought? If you don't want to pay, use adblock. Jesus.
Also, tip notifications. Yay.
