Neither have I, I just enjoy the concepts of those 2 graphic novels, similar to how you k now of their tone and commentary.
Yes, Magneto is a very interesting character, almost definitely the deepest in the series.
Oh, wow, good find, Magni. I've heard precious little about that aside from the initial announcement, and now it's about to enter beta! They took it in an interesting direction for sure, but here's hoping they can pull it off.

Sorry, I passed out from sickness after work Friday. Still recuperating...
I don't think their intention was to be faithful to the source material as much as they were just taking certain elements and running with them. I ultimately see it as a reboot, or at least something unconnected. Yeah, the Razielim bothered me, too, since they were all genocided before any of them could develop wings (logically assuming the head of a clan would achieve an evolution before their underlings, though Raziel sure upped Kain).
Killer Instinct is getting a new game after all these year, huh? Isn't that the "combo break" franchise? It's kind of funny that this will likely do better than the past several Mortal Kombat games, the series upon which Killer Instinct was originally based.

Oh no! *hugs* Take care of yourself, my friend. We've been companions for far too long to let me just blow off your illness.
I wondered about the Razielim as well. They should follow suit with their progenitor . . . but how quickly? The wings from the shoulders is just boring to me. What made Raziel's wing design so interesting was that it came from his lower back, not his shoulderblades. The wing design was truly spectacular! as for the reimagining . . . feh. Part of the greatness of the series was not the plot as much as the vocabulary. When I saw it was a "free-to-play" meaning (pay to win) MMO, I lost a lot of faith in it. We shall see.
Killer Instinct (as the videos should illustrate) was a fighting game based around the combo system, with that announcer screaming out names for combos based on how many hits you got. And yes, it is the c-c-c-c-c-c-c-COMBO BREAKERRRR!!! game. I couldn't play it worth a crap, but the fights are entertaining. I loved the ideas from the series of Glacius: an alien of morphic living ice, Saberwulf: a man cursed with lycanthropy, and of course the lead character of the cybernetic Fulgore.

The passing out was figurative, not literal, just to be clear, but thank you. I'm doing a good bit better now.
Yeah, the wings mounted on the lower back actually makes a lot more sense in the realm of physics. Yeah, the amazing writing definitely won't be there with the original writer (to say nothing of the original game company itself) gone.
Ah, okay. Yeah, the designs of the combatants seem quite varied (especially when compared with Mortal Kombat's many color-associated ninjas).

What is catching my attention (other than the pure entertainment value of the announcer) is the different styles presented by certain characters. The feral nature of Saberwulf, and the distance fighting of Glacius. It's just interesting to watch.
I note something interesting lately. When I RP a character closer to my personality, the character is oft referred to as "creepy." An interesting thing. For instance, I am playing tabletop again (******** yay!!!) in a cyberpunk setting. My character is slight of build, What he has going for him is a heavy backpack that looks like a military pack . . . with legs. In truth, it is a cybernetic pack with four arms like spiderlegs. The ending area has multiple tools that can pop out for building/welding/fabricating. I have managed to turn that to a boost not only to appendages but speed as well by laying on the ground and skittering along. The pack houses a horde of small transforming drones that do my bidding as well. Not combat effective, but great for espionage, infiltration, and general awesome task completion. I'm told that he is creepy . . .
My Bleach character is one based on arachnid abilities and was also called that. Interesting that those I associate most with are "creepy."

I can understand that. Being a younger sibling, I enjoy watching video games being played as much as playing them myself. Diverse play styles in fighting games seems to be a popular trend, what with the BlazBlue series and Skull Girls both doing so.
Glad to hear you're back into tabletopping. Are you using the ShadowRun system for it? Well, as far as their abilities, manipulator powers (summoning and controlling minions, especially small ones) and spiders tend to be viewed as stranger. It could be your group's perceptions, I guess. Are the ones claiming creepiness new to roleplaying? They're not bothered by it as players OoC, are they (that'd be ridiculous)?

I have no idea what the group in the Bleach guild was like, but my tabletop people are definitely not new to the games. What I can say is that none have complained about the creepiness, just commented on it. I personally take it as a badge of pride to be able to go beyond what is expected and make them smile. Even if it is a "WTF" smile, it is something elicited from them. When I play tabletop, I make it a big deal to give the character a voice vastly different from my own- that way people know when I am speaking, and when the character is.
As for alienating others- far from it. In the game, as said, I am playing a techie. So not only do I have the drones, but I can build plenty. An archer asked me for specific arrowheads, and now the med techie is asking me to build her an ambulance. We came to a compromise on the vechicle. it will say "Blood Mobile" on the front and sides . . . . but I am going to put "Murderbus" on the back. cool ninja

Oh, okay. I misinterpreted the tone of your previous post; I had thought it was concerning/bothering you. I'm glad everything's going well, then.

All right. I always find the more unique characters in a RPG, whether tabletopper or video game, are the most remembered and can do a lot to spice up a setting or plot.
