Lori nosed Luca and said lowly: "Kiss me."
He kissed Luca lovingly and, while they were lip-locked, snapped a picture. The kiss continued a few moments after the picture was taken and when it broke he chuckled and stroked Luca's cheek. He loved him. God, he loved him. Only then did he peek down at the photo and nodded. It was cute. Love radiated from it. He'd like to keep it himself, but it would definitely serve its purpose.
"Hey," he said, shifting his weight a little awkwardly. He wasn't sure how Luca would feel about this. "Would you like to help me draft a letter for your b*****d of an ex?"

Luca was smiling when the kiss broke. He took a look at the picture. "Write a letter?" he echoed. They could tell the guy they'd become closer than ever. He hadn't succeeded at all! "Alright," he agreed, before leaning forward and kissing Lori again.
"I love you."

Alright! Good! Lori laughed again. "I love you too."
On the way to the office he emailed the picture to himself to print, and then picked up a pad of paper and held it up questioningly.
"Hand-written or typed?"

"Handwritten?" Luca suggested. It made it more personal. "What do you want to say?"

Lori pushed a rolling chair toward Luca and hopped up on the desk himself. Hopefully it'd hold him.
" 'Ha-ha ******** you it didn't work,' " Lori teased, but then tilted his head and began to draft. "What's his name anyway?"

Luca sat, and took the notepad. "His names Cillion," he said. "I'm really sorry you had the misfortune of meeting him, love. He's awful."

"Yeah, no kidding," Lori said with a laugh, "He's one Grade A b*****d for sure, but Unseelie tend to be that way. -an or -on?" As soon as Luca answered he was writing. It might be a bit rough but that was the point of drafts.

"On," Luca said, and looked to Lori. "Are you going to tell him how happy we are?"

Lori just smiled and kept on writing. Finally he held the pad out to Luca.
"Is there anything you want to add?"
The letter thus far read as such:
Dear Cillion, It was a pleasure meeting you the other day. Unfortunately I do have to tell you that the information you imparted was incorrect, and all was smoothed over very quickly. Luca and I are actually quite happy, on vacation and spending the holidays together. I love him very much, and he loves me. Nice try, though. Cheers, Lorien

Luca read over the letter, paused, and kissed Lori on the cheek. "It's perfect," he said. "I don't have his address, though..."

"I have his name and his species, and know he lives in-state. I'll find it when we get home," Lori said. He grabbed Luca for a kiss and nibbled his lip and pulled it out playfully. He was grinning. Maybe it was a little abuse of power, but Toby got away with it all the time and Lori was such a goodie-two-shoes at work... he deserved just a little spite.
"I mean it too. I do love you."

Luca was smiling. He hugged Lori. "I love you, too. More than anything." He released him and paused. "Lets go watch a movie," He invited. A movie and snuggling sounded wonderful.

Toby carried the big box out of the basement and started pulling out the wire wrapped in matte white tinsel. When they had gone to buy the tree the first time, Dari had insisted it was exactly the same color as snow and they had to have it. Toby thought it was hideous, but it had grown on him. Lori came up soon after with two tubs of ornaments.
"Alright, is everyone ready for some gosh-darned Christmas festivity?!" Toby asked. He had reached the base and was trying to remember how to put it together. Ah. Like that. Dari shuffled over to help place the branches and bend them in a semi-realistic way.

Maia thought the tree was beautiful. She watched Dari put it together and went over to Toby. "Christmas festivity?" she echoed. "I've never seen a Christmas tree before."

"Really?" Toby asked. It seemed impossible that someone would be able to escape festive imagery forever. "Well good then, because we're going to decorate ours."
Lori popped open the first tub of ornaments and pulled out a glittery old-fashioned lace snowflake. He held it up and twirled it on its string and smiled to Luca. "Are these antique?"
"Har har har," Toby mused.
"Sorry, sorry. Wrong word. Vintage?"
"Some are," Dari said, "Some are new."
"I have a bunch from way-back-when." None with photos though. That only made him sad.
Rosie wandered into the room, nub wagging curiously, and Seamus hopped right up onto Luca's lap to sniff the snowflake.
