Tao looked at her. "It's okay," he said.
Matt's body was being dragged out of the room. He was thrown around like a rag doll. Nobody noticed the slight rise and fall of his chest. The bleeding had stopped, for the bullet had lodged itself shallow enough to form a plug. He was limply being carried into the graveyard where the people on death roll were buried.

Tao looked out the window. "Hey, look, there's Jack wit-" he said, but his sentence trailed out. There was no Matt...

Alex followed his gaze, the tears welling up in her eyes."No..." she whispered.
Jack quickly made his way inside and found the two."I'm sorry....This letter for As-" he hadn't finished his sentence before Alex ran into her room slamming the door behind her and locking it.He sighed, and looked at Tao,he gave him the letter."Matt was like her brother....first she lost Max,her real brother, now Matt.." he shook his head,"Take care of her." he said as he turned and walked towards the door to leave.

Tao's hands were shaking when he took the letter. He couldn't believe it....Matt...of all people, it had to be Matt....Matt was like his little brother...He felt hot tears rolling down his cheeks. He got up, and staggered over to Alex's room. He knocked on the door. "Alex..." he was able to croak out.
Henry, the grave digger, noticed the rise and fall of Matt's chest. He nodded when the people dumped the boy at his doorstep. He walked over and dragged the poor soul into his house. He tore open the blood stained shirt. He started to take out the bullet from Matt's shoulder.

Tao walked in, going to Alex. He sat on her bed, looking at her. "He would be crying right now if he could see you..." he could barely say. He reached over for her. "We...we should remember him in the happy times...and should be glad that he's somewhere better..." he whispered. He was crying also. It made him feel like such a hypocrite.
Matt's eyes fluttered open. Their blue hue was now clouded. The pain in his shoulder was excoriating. He asked, "Am...Am i dead?" he asked quietly.
Henry smiled at the boy. "No, son, you're not dead. Damn lucky, maybe, but not dead. 8 rarely misses his mark..." He was bandaging Matt's wound. "What's your name, son?" he asked
Ashle took in a deep breath. "Something is wrong..."
"Matt...Matt Hatter..." he whispered. He looked where he was being touched. "I....can't see you, I'm sorry..." he said. He asked, "What's your name?"
"Most people call me Gravedigger...but I'm Henry..." said the man. He started to let Matt up. "You've taken a helluva day, haven't you?" He smiled. "We need to get you a disguise, Matt...I think I have some hairdye...." He went into the back room. He rummaged around untill he found the dye. It was a deep red. Perfect. "We're going to have to cut your hair too, son..."
Matt looked where the voice was coming from. "Anything that keeps me alive..." he whispered. Fresh tears were coming now. Ashle and Marcie and alex...they would all think he was dead now. He couldn't believe that he would never be able to see them again. "Just tell me what I need to do..."
Henry said, softly, gently, like a father, "Nothing now. Just rest. I'll update you in the morning."

Marcie looked up at Ashle from the chair she had been sitting on, the wait for her to go out of the principal's office had been endless and the bad feeling she had attributed to the weather earlier didn't make it any better "Was something the matter with the school?" she asked trying not to think about the feeling she had.

Tao hugged her tight. "It's okay.....I just can't believe he's gone...." he said to her.
Ashle shrugged. She put her legs to her chest. "It feels like something's missing now..." she whispered. "Missing from me....like a hole...in my chest..." She put her forehead on her knees.

Marcie pulled Ashle in to hug and placed her cheek to Ashle's head stoking her hair gently "Would you like to go to the nurse?" she asked, she knew it was probably not something physical but there was not much she could think about to make Ashle feel better "Or maybe we could go to see Alex?I am not good at healing people's hearts" She added softly, Alex was Ashle's best friend, was she not?

Ashle nodded. She got up and said, "It's not far from here...Let's walk.." Her voice was barely a whisper. There was something so wrong, so bad, but seh couldn't place it. It was torturing her....

"Alright" Marcie said getting to her feet and following Ashle with a fake smile upon her lips, she herself was not feeling all that well, how could she console someone when she felt like this herself? Alex would know what to do with Ashle better than her

((*insert evil epic face here*))
Tao rocked Alex. He said, "Shhh...shhh..."
Ashle held herself while they walked through the path in the woods that connected the school and Alex's house. It was about thirty minutes of a walk. She couldn't stop shaking. She looked at Marcie, and then down. What is wrong? she thought.
