"Order" is such a misleading word. For us, it usually means PIZZA PARTY WOOHOO!

Well, but if all life is precious, then they don't count plant life as precious? Reaaaally? That's silly of them. XD
But yes, it is basically the same thing... but I'm not sure I'd want to be in the same category as a cow or sheep, either. >_>;
<_<;

Well, have you ever read Atlas Shrugged?
PostPosted: Fri Dec 25, 2009 6:44 pm

No, but I've heard of it. Ann Ryn is a big internet star now, mainly because of Left 4 Dead when Francis says "I hate Ann Ryn". Course he hates everything except vest.

Anyways! Isn't it about what's wrong with capitalism and how most people are sheep to whoever has power and doesn't think for themselves?

XD; Seriously?
That's funny. =o
They made me read a lot of her books in lit. >_>; I remember Atlas Shrugged being the first assignment I had for highschool over the summer. =_= It was huuuuge. I was so afraid of it. XD

XD Wellz, gotta admit. Sheep are sheep?
I just feel that it's important to protect those weaker than you, to a point. If you don't step away, tho, then people get to be pretty much like sheep. o_o

Well Atlas Shrugged is one of her more famous books...

Protect those that need it, but work towards having them protect themselves.

Indeed. =_=;
And about as long as the bible. XD;

That would be the ultimate goal. =o

You'd think so but there will always be those who enjoy the role as the protector too much. Or use protecting as a cover to take control....

Indeed.
Well, you know what they say... it takes all kinds. o_o
PostPosted: Fri Dec 25, 2009 7:02 pm

True true. Now do you let the power corrupt you or do you take control and master it?

I'd say that's a rather personal question.
And one that really can't be answered until one has reached that point in life. There's always the unexpected flaw.

Knowing myself, the way I think, and the way I act, if ever at the point of protecting somebody/ something I'd be like Superman at best, Batman at worse. Out in the open and loved, or behind closed doors and a mixed of fear and respect.

Indeed?
I can't say I'd ever get to that point. o_o
However, since that kind of thing is...umm... kinda illegal...currently, at least, there are benefits to having a secret identity. o_o

Sorry super heros on the brain and what we the talk with protecting.. yeah.
I really need to get the 90s Batman cartoon though. Those rocked.
"I am vengance! I am the night! I AM BATMAN!"

Hehe. And secret identities are always interesting. Of course we know why they have them, usually to protect themselves and loved ones, but why take on another name, and sometimes personality, to do what they do?

XD Wellz, it makes sense, I guess. I kinda made a different leap, but that's probably because of the books I've been reading lately. o_o

>_< I've never seen the original comics... but I was a fan of the saturday morning cartoons. =o

XD Well... There's always some sort of back story, right? But I'd think it really comes down to... The need for acknowledgment...? Wellz, I had a thought but I lost it. >_< Damn cheesecake.

I think anybody who watched cartoons in the 90s has a lot of fond memories of Batman The Animated Series. It's influence is so great it actually changed the comics some. Examples being Mr. Freeze going from a villien with a thing for cold related things to a tragic figure who's only doing what he does to cure his sick wife.
And Harley Quinn. She was such a popular character she ended up in the comics.
And Mark Hammil will always be know as both Luke Skywalker AND the Joker haha. Atleast his voice.

Never read the comics myself. Only one I remember reading growing up until I found manga was a single issue of a Venom comic.

XD I don't remember any of the actual episodes, but yes.
It's pretty spectacular that the show changed the comics, tho. o_o That's pretty insane. Don't they usually encourage the comics going in their own directions so the fans keep up with both comic and series? D:
