When the otherwise empty quarters had been still for some time, the change in ambiance marked an unnoticed new arrival. Addison had returned from a long and stressful night of attempting to let Carroll recharge.
The redhead stepped out from the shadows and over to her chosen bed. She paused, noticing a tuft of black and white fur sticking out from the top bunk adjacent to her and then feeling a pang. She missed him. Hesitantly, she reached up, only stopping short of touching the tiger's tail.
With a resigned sigh, she lowered her arm and turned, going to sit and then closing her eyes when she had gotten comfortable. After a pause, she leaned back into the pillows and put one hand to her forehead, drifting off.

Bristan woke up, bolt-upright, and looked around frantically. Coming back to reality, and realising that he could not go back to his dream, where it all felt a little better, he felt his bottom lip beginning to tremble, everything that was wrong feeling ten times worse, now. He lay back down quickly, determined to get back to sleep, although he felt far too awake, now.

Addison looked up from her hunched over position when she heard the bed creaking, her eyes casting a gaze over the boy before he disappeared behind the bunk's railing once more. She lowered her stare to the bed sheets, expression troubled.
'It can wait.' She said quietly, clambering out of the bed and slowly approaching the ladder. After a pause she grasped the metal and began to hoist herself up, climbing to the top before asking a gentle 'Hey...sorry to bug you...did you have a bad dream?'

".... No" He answered simply, staring into space. He was afraid to move his eyes in case they watered, afraid to say anymore in case his voice cracked.

'Do you mind?' The redhead asked, climbing up to sit on the edge of the bed. She made a point of looking ahead, recognizing the tone in his voice. Her wavy locks hung loosely about her face, obscuring the heavy-hearted expression she had adopted.

"N-No. Not at all" He whispered, trying to pull himself together quickly. He took a deep breath as he sat up, wondering just what she wanted.

'It's kind of um, lonely around here, isn't it?' Addison asked, swinging one leg from where it dangled over the ladder.

He nodded."Yeah... I know" He restrained himself from saying more.

'We've just gotta stick together, um, that's why we're all here.' She said, trying to keep things vague. Addison scooted over slightly, climbing up onto the bunk fully and filling up the remaining space on the cramped bunk. She sat back on her legs, facing him this time and leaning against the railing.
'I'm here though.'

"Err. Thanks..." He managed a small smile, a little confused, but appreciating the sentiment all the same.

She nodded, returning the smile and settling into a comfortable position on the bed with him. Without anything else to say, she resigned herself to simply being near the dysadin, hoping this would be of some consolation to the grieving boy.

Despite being initially a little uninviting, Bristan soon warmed to her, and sat talking to her for hours on end, about everything and nothing all at once. He seemed almost cheerful by the time he had fallen asleep, and noted that, as he slowly began to awaken, he felt in a far better mood than he had done in a long while.

When Bristan had finally gone back to sleep, Addison had again brushed off the urgent insisting from Carroll to lay down beside the dysadin and get some much-needed shut-eye of her own. She did not wake up immediately, her hair covering large portions of her face as she lay asleep beside the waking boy, breathing softly in an almost familiar rhythm.

He sat up slowly, glancing at Addison slightly shame-faced. He rubbed his green eyes, mind whirring.

The movement gently jostled her back into waking and Addison slowly opened her eyes, pushing her hair out of her face to look up at him.
''Morning,' she croaked in spite of having no idea what time it actually was.
