Thank you everyone ^.^! *Big huuuug to you all* ^____^

@ Taylor: Photoshop is certainly nice to use just because it has the layer system ^_^ I use alot of other features too like the burn and sponge tools *Hugs them* and smudge is my friend XD lol

And like Meri has said before, PS is like having the batmobile just to go the the super market ^_^;; I think there are a few other programs that have a layering system and are really affordable <3 I'm not sure what the names of them would be though XD;;;

Yep, not neccessary Photoshop. There is GIMP and Pixia...wait a minute...does Pixia has layers? not sure... gonk Meave forgot, seldom use.

Well, Meriko's right about Photoshop in one way, but why drive a lemon that may or may not work when you can always have the Batmobile at your disposal?

If you're serious about learning graphic arts and CG, go with the tool everyone uses--just bite it and learn Photoshop. It's the industry standard. If you're looking for "light" versions, there's always the lower end versions, or limited editions of PS that do just as well, like Photoshop Elements (which also does layers), and it's significantly more affordable. (Or just pirate it like everyone else.) I'm sure there's others that do a decent job, but Photoshop is King, baby. I've been using it for 10 years now and I wouldn't dare touch anything else...
I use Photoshope elements personally. I've used the full version (my dad has it), but elements rus about $100 and if you're just interested in it for ava edits it'll do just fine.

Ok, off topic here (whatever the topic was), but I'm fairly new to Gaia, and even newer to the Gaia forums, and you'd think I'd never been on a forum before with the question I'm about to ask, so here I really get to show off my stupidity.

Is there a way to subscribe to this forum or have it send you updates automatically do I don't have to hunt for the page every time and reload? Just point me to a nice FAQ or something if I'm asking the blatantly obvious.

THX.

Hmmm... in the Gaia forms there used to be a "subscribe to this thread" button... but I don't think it exists for guild forums. I don't do much with forums though so I could be completely off ^^;

yep, i bookmarked this guild too 3nodding .

ooh, hair talk. my hair's like four inches past my shoulder and is kinda straight/kinda wavy. i just pull it up and twist it around and put a claw clip over it to get it out of the way xd . i grew up with short hair, so i kinda like having longish hair for a change.

i've suddenly developed an urge to collect reindeer slippers and inks ninja (with no plans of even selling them). must go stalk the marketplace and exchange again.

Hair talk? We're talking about hair? >_> Well...My hair has always been very long, dry, and thick. Even when I was born, but it was still thick and I had lots of hair then anyway XP But anyway, I would always have my hair growing and I always had it in a ponytail (Once in a while a different hairstyle), even when I was like a few months old, it'd be like a Pebbles ponytail razz The only time my hair was ever short was when I was 10 and brought to a salon by my cousin (She was my favorite at the time and I had never been to one)...My hair that was down to my butt, was cut to my shoulders v-v; Only time I ever wore it down. It grew back, but I still wonder how much longer it would have been. My hair is now down to my butt and is dry and thick as I mentioned before razz It's also very wavy/curly... And sadly, because it's so thick, people always think it's black when it's just dark brown which nobody can tell unless they look at one strand of it or I go and sit down for an hour or two to get it straightened v-v; Of course, it's longer and not as thick when it's straightened but still...

Edit: And I LIKE my hair btw razz I just find it a pain in the butt to take care of. I want hair on Gaia like my real hair ^^ Sadly, nice ponytails tend to be a pain on most sites so I usually go for my hair down... (My hair is just even more annoying when down so I always put it up) But it's still pretty hard to find v-v; That's why all my characters have pretty much the same hair and abit lighter, cause I'm sick of people thinking my hair is black and I rarely see characters with the personality I give them with wavy thick brown hair... And so many things I have with personalities are blonde straight haired...

*waveness to emi* whee

*hee* it also takes me an hour or two to straighten my hair xd . i'd do it, but then my arms get tired.

it's fun having long hair because it's then easy to pull it up in a ponytail and get it out of the way xd . a couple of times, i got annoyed with my hair and had it cut short. when i realized i couldn't pull it back, i start missing my long hair xd .

It rained all this week and will rain all of next week. Rivers are flooding, Johnson Creek is about to go up over its banks. And if, amazingly enough, goes up over Mt. Scott I am so screwed >_<
