"Umm... what my sister means to say is, we'd like to speak with you, Ms. Tiamika. If that's who you are. I hope I got the address right!" Melinda spoke up somewhat cheerfully and hopeful. But just as quickly as the confidence expressed itself, it waned back to nothing, as she lowered her gaze from the peephole down to the ground.
"Ah, if that's alright with you, that is. I'm sorry if we're inconveniencing you, ma'am."

Suddenly, the view of the peephole would be filled with a GIGANORMOUS BLACK EYEBALL! Well, not too giganormous, but Cybil was suddenly peering back through the peephole at the woman on the other side.
"Iiiii seeeeee yoooouuuu!" she sang out cheerfully. In the background, though unnoticable, Melinda turned a bright shade of red.
"Hiii! We're trying to find a friend of ours, and our search led us to one, Owle Isohos, who might know where he is! She said she never met him, but you might have! So if its alright, we'd like to ask you a few questions! And possibly eat some cookies if you have them! I'll have Zandra's share, cause she doesn't like to eat sweets!"

"Owle sent you here?" Tiamika asked, sounding incredibly suspicious. "Look, I know she's not trying to kill me, but, we're not really on the best of terms." There was the sound of the lock being turned, and the door opened up a crack, wide enough for the sisters to see her. She looked like Owle's sister; her hair was a bit more purplish than bright blue, and she kept it cut short. Her scales ran all down the dorsal side of her body, and she appeared to have a thick tail. Her feet were the same unusual sort as Owle's, and on her back were two tiny wings. Her eyes were a bright and determined yellow. She wore a cute little T-shirt with a heart on it and denim shorts.
"I hope you don't mind if I don't invite you inside. Bad blood and all that. But I'll answer any questions you put to me. So, ask."

As soon as the door was cracked open, Cybil descending from her hovering, and instantly tried to squeeze into the opening. Not squeeze through it so much as, literally, into it.
Her cheekes were puffed as her face was squished between door and frame, causing her lips to make the fishy mouth look.
Bright eyes scanned the apartment briefly, then up and down Tiamika's form.
"Oh wowz, yousha weel cyuut won, jush wike yoush shishta!" Cybil squeeled joyfully at seeing what Tiamika looked like.

Melinda just kinda... observed the scene unfolding before her with a kind of abject horror. The second twelve-year-old just opened and closed her mouth several times, completely unsure as to what to say. She did bring both hands up to her mouth, covering it as she turned redder by the moment.
Really, what was she supposed to do in a situation like this?! How was she supposed to remain professional?!

"..."
Zandra just looked past Cybil, her golden eyes locking with Tiamika's. If she thought anything about Cybil's shameful behavior or Melinda's over-the-top embarassment, she sure as heck didn't show it.
"We've been tracking a man for some time now who knows where the person we're looking for is. He's a little over six feet tall, brown hair, blue eyes, covered heavily in scars. Travels around a lot, uses no weapons, no armor, he fights unarmed. We also think he has the ability to harness lightning somehow. We tracked him down to a ship in Grayport, where he met with a woman matching your description. Following both their trails led us here, and we think the man might have competed in the tournament, but he's no longer in it. We had managed tracked down your sister Owle, but she had no memory of ever being there. She suggested it might have been you that was there, so here we are, looking for answers."
...
"But you're not her, and Owle decieved us. Am I right?"

Tiamika gave a barely audible squeak, taking an involuntary step back as Cybil tried to squeeze herself into the opening in the doorframe. This allowed the door to open just a teensy bit wider.
The apartment beyond was nothing special, really; it was neat, to the point of being sparse, with little furnishings and even fewer knickknacks.
At Zandra's words, Tiamika tries to look past Cybil to see her...she thought for a moment before replying. "...right. I haven't seen or met anybody who could channel lightning. I'm sorry I can't be of more help."
She actually sounded sorry, too.

Zandra tossed her hair, before turning to face down the hallway. "This woman is too timid to have been in the situation you girls found and have survived. You're in no danger, and you don't need me here. Question her if you like, but I'll wait outside."
She took one step away, pausing, then looked back at Tiamika's hidden face. "Your sister's going to get you killed one of these days." And, just like that, she walked away, not responding to anything any of the other three said to her.

"Oh, poo. Now my mood's ruined." Cybil whined, peeling herself away from the door and crossing her arms in a huff.
"Sorry to bother you, lady. We just want to find out what happened at Grayport. Owle sent us to speak with you, hoping you would have answers. Melinda, you talked to her yourself; would you care to elaborate?" she asked, gesturing towards Tiamika while looking at her youngest sister.

"Zandra! I..." the brunette started while reaching out for her sister, but stopped. There was no point, especially with her. Zandra wasn't one who could be reasoned with. Zandra was reason.
"Eh?" Melinda perked up, hearing her name. She looked over to Cybil, and blushed, pressing the tips of her index fingers together. "Well, if you say so, Cybil..."
She lightly cleared her throat, then looked up bashfully towards Tiamika. "Well, you see... that is... we had someone magically scry on the past on this ship in Grayport, and we saw what we thought was your sister. But she claimed it wasn't her, and said you might have been there. You do kind of look like her, so maybe it was the case?"
She bit her lip and looked towards the stairs Zandra had disappeared down. What if she was right?

"She's not my sister!" Tiamika called after Zandra. She seemed a little peeved at being called timid.
"I've never even heard of Grayport, and I've never been on a boat. I've spent most of my life in Barton and Latent; I don't really go many other places. If Owle sent you to see me, she probably just wanted to get rid of you."

Cybil and Melinda would exchange concerned glances with one another as Zandra parted ways and Tiamika called out her responses.
"Barton? Are you saying that you're a zoooommmmbbbbiiiieeeee?" Cybil asked, turning to the doorway once more, wide eyed glee as she stared up at Tiamika. With more delight than a child should have when talking about zombies, with the sound of assurance in her mind that she knew what she was talking about.

"So, are you saying that it was your sis... Owle that was in Grayport then? Like the divinations show? I mean, you do look like her, but..." Melinda started, before reddening.
"I mean, um! That is to say, you two look a lot alike, so we could see how there could be confusion, but she seemed to be confident she didn't know what we were talking about. Do you... do you know of any reason why she would want to be rid of us?"
Upon asking that, she averted her gaze, to the floor. Not out of embarassment, but out of possible shame for the thought of being that much of a burden that she had to be lied to like that.

"I'm not a zombie," Tiamika said to Cybil. Her voice caught in her throat for a moment, her eyes saddening as she remembered what exactly had happened to Barton Town. "I got out before all that happened."
Then to Melinda, Tiamika replied. "I don't know. I don't know her. But Owle...from what I know of her, she loses her memory. A lot. Maybe she just didn't want to bother explaining or something."
