Red pokes an uneasy eye around the door, scanning the nearly deserted room. As she spots Rose the sound of a soft bok. bok. bok. can be heard from behind the entrance, Red quickly retreats and her hushed voice carries through the open door. " shhhhh Henrietta! You is going to gets us into trouble you is!" More soft boking...Then Red pokes her head into the kitchens, and holding Henrietta in her arms braves taking a step into the kitchen.

*peeks through the portrait hole into the kitchens and smiles*
*steps inside and watches for a moment as the elves run around working*

*Red, with eyes averted and chicken in hand, deliberately sidesteps Ume and then neatly weaves between both Grand and Rose to go to the bakery section's cutting board. She wipes the board and collects the crumbs in the palm of her hand, then she quickly crosses past the other house elves to sit in a chair in the corner where she sits and then tenderly petting the chicken opens her palm for it to peck at sweetly*
((ooc. This next paragraph is pretty much my house-elf's character background, hopefully it's not too confusing with the third persons and bad grammar, this paragraph is all Red talking to her chicken, Henrietta, and she refers to her as "miss" cause its someone she cares for))
*Red quietly talks to the chicken, softly petting her*
"Henrietta, eat up now…
….
My Masters, they says 'Go elf and make us fresh chicken!' But Red is not knowing how, and so my masters tell me, miss, 'Pluck it's feathers out,' they says. 'Chop it's head off… Do it,’ they says, ‘Or they is going to have Red’s head chopped off,’ miss! So Red goes, and she sees miss, and Red can’t do it, miss, she cannot! Henrietta is inspecting Red, miss, and she is gazing up at Red’s eyes, miss. And so Red runs, runs away from my Masters! They is not hurting my Henrietta, they is not! And so Red takes her, and we run all the way to Hogwarts. We is safe here Henrietta, very safe!”

“*gasps and looks around a little* Henrietta we is needing to clean now, we is!”
*Henrietta finishes eating, and with a couple of soft bok. bok. bok.s she hops happily on top of Red’s head where she is comfortable, and resides most of the time.*
*Red stands up and only then realizes that the other house-elves are there, she anxiously crosses over to them*
“We is Red *indicates self* and Henrietta *indicates chicken.*
*Henrietta does a sort of soft cooing sound*
And we is very happy to be at Hogwarts, very happy!”

Lola had been waiting quite impatiently in front of one of the many ovens in the kitchen for her sugar cookies to finish baking. When she heard the familiar "ding" of the timer go off, she quickly snatched the batch from the oven. Her impatience kind of took control of her house elf magical abilities, and she accidentally caused them to cool enough to frost immediately. She had noticed that many of the elves did not use magic unless completely necessary, so she hoped no one would be upset with her.
"Hello Red!" Lola was pleased to meet the acquaintance of a new elf to the kitchens, just like herself. "Would Red like to decorate House cookies with Lola?" She had carefully prepared red icing, which was currently sitting next to gold sprinkles; blue icing next to a bowl of bronze sprinkles, etc. They just needed to be placed on the cookies.
Lola masteruflly spread green icing on a quarter of the cookies, and topped them off with black sprinkles. She proudly carried the decorated treats over to Ume at the door.
"Why hello miss! Would miss like some cookies? They is Slytherin colors, just for you!"

"Red would loves too! But Red is thinking that perhaps we should be making more for the house of Slytherin. For masters and misses of Hufflepuff are far and few in the castle these day, and Ravenclaw hasn't got it much better, Even Gryffindors is outnumbered! Red is glad that there are people active, but wonders about diversity.
Red was in the Great Hall just this morning and most everyone Red saw sauntered right on up to the Slytherin table, and all the rest lay abandoned."
*Red starts frosting some cookies for Ravenclaw, with a confused look on her face, Henrietta clucks a little eyeing the cookies*

*She takes the chocolate chip cookies out of the oven, puts them on a platter, and hands them to James*
"Theres you go, sir! If you need anything else, just tell EA."
*Gets to work cleaning dishes*

Ume looks down at the house elf offering her cookies.
"Why um...thank you." She says taking one.
She smiles, takes a bite, then looks down at the elf again.
"I was actually wondering...if there was any uncooked meat left from supper today?"
