I did. Then light screen wore off. And dragon pulse got like 5 critical's in a row, and Ampharos was my last pokemon, and before I could get up a lightscreen, Dragon pulse get critcal because Quick Claw failed to work.

Gyrados used Dragon Rage!
Foes Kingdra is at 1hp.
Leader Clair used Full restore! Kingdra was healed and got over paralysis.
I Facedesked really hard at that part.

It could be worse. A Kingdra with both Dragon and Rain Dance would be near unstoppable.
And just tossing it out there from a page or so ago:
Barrier and Light Screen aren't sister skills. That'd be Reflect and Light Screen.
Barrier raises Defense two stages while Light Screen always halves Special Attack damage. Screen is a team wide move while Barrier is user only unless passed.
Under most circumstances, Reflect/Screen reduce damage more than stat ups, but they can be broken and are only temporary.
