Dipping the little wooden spoon into the sweet, frosty strawberry treat, Lucado scooped up a sweet bite and popped it into his mouth, savoring the frigid sweetness and smiling with more shyness than he was used to, letting the icy treat melt on his tongue. "You're very welcome... I can't very well monopolize the poor vendor, can I?" he asked, smiling and looking up at Alex lightly, then back to his sweet, cooling down a bit with a sigh. Now, all he needed was a giant splash of cold water to cool his stupid cheeks.

Tari beamed at the nice Raevan and lady at the booth. Everyone was so nice! It made up for the strange jarring she felt this close to Lazarus.
"Thank you," she said politely to Namini, "but can't eat. No sti- st- uh... no belly." She pointed to Lazzie's abs. "Only boobs." Beaming in pride at what she did have, she grabbed them in case someone, somewhere, was unaware of what boobs were.
"Tari disappears sakura. Uh," a frown crossed the pretty girl's face as she recognised she was speaking incorrectly. She tried again. "Makes sakura disappear. And hair."
Speaking of which, she inched closer to Lazarus. He had such interesting hair colours and shape. "You name? Tari try your hair? Just little bit," she coaxed sidling up to him, giving him her best pretty-please smile. She was getting a little peckish with all this talk of food...
Meanwhile, Kali was smirking at Kiretha's panic over her impending motherhood. "It's not so bad," she drawled. "Could be worse. At least there's no diaper changing to worry about."
The mention of growing amber intrigued Kali. "Really, still growing? Tari's was like that - hair still growing, I mean. As for what they eat... I'm not too sure. I've seen Tari drink sakura tea, other than that I wonder if she's eating behind my back. Whenever I ask, she says she's already eaten for the day..."

It wasn’t too long before the shade could no longer provide relief from the sun that beat down so merrily, yet somewhat uncomfortably upon the festival and all its participants. It was then that Ebony felt it was time to stop being lazy. Perhaps if she got up and walked around she’d somehow cool off, yet she found that highly unlikely. But that didn’t stop her as she stuck the lily back behind her ear and left her once shady sanctuary.
Venturing back into the festival looked to be a bit more treacherous than last as the crowd had seemed to double in size since the time she’d sat down to view the auction. A glance towards the refreshment booth proved worthless, it being busy as ever. Ebony stopped in her tracks though, those cool gray eyes burning with determination. This time, she was going to get a drink damnit! Luckily for her, the rambunctious lot that had been there on her previous visit had moved on. Well maybe not all of them as she noticed the purple haired one had now taken the place of the red and black Raevan of whom had been manning the station. No matter, as long as they weren’t causing anymore trouble. Thus, Ebony waited in line to get her much needed refreshment.

Bard put on one of those overly-excitable expressions at the compliment from the customer. "That's so sweet of you, but you don't have to lie to get my attention cutie. I know I'm terrible at running this here stall." Bard reached his hand up to rub at the back of his head in an shy manner, looking cute and bashful the best way he could without messing his hair up too very much before looking back over at the woman holding his cat.
"Yeah. Fangs...V-Venus named him," Bard said, stumbling over the name as a dark look crossed over his face, the glowing eyes flickering before regaining their glow and his gaze picked up once more. "Trust me. You do not want that guy in your house. He'll cope a feel," the man replied to her desire of keeping his cat. He'd likely let her if...if Fangs hadn't been Venus' cat. Bard wished he could tell her something about how very wrong she was about wanting to treat Fangs like a prince, but eh, she could figure it out on her own.
"Water's good and all mam, but honestly he'd prefer some vodka," Bard said hesitantly, not really sure how else to break it to the woman that her little angel was really a devil. Fangs though, likely to spite Bard, would have pretended that he loved the water just to impress the woman. "You're welcome to take him wherever you'd like but, wouldn't it be better if the two of you just hung out here for a bit?" he asked with a cooed tone and a wide smile.
Tari's words made him practically choke on himself as he tried to hold back the laughter.

Vodka? Venus? Alex felt like she had walked into a room and seen something she shouldn't have. It didn't help with the awkwardness she was already feeling. "Th-that's, ah...vodka?" Her bewildered gaze turned back to the cat. "Is that why he was covered in something wet?" She continued to pet Fangs, shaking her head at the idea. While she wouldn't say it out loud, she wasn't going to willingly give an animal alcohol. The stuff was barely fit for human consumption, as far as she was concerned.
The next question caught her off guard, and it showed in her deer in the headlights look. "I wouldn't mind, but..." Her eyes swept over the gathered towards the booth she was supposed to be working. Regretfully, she replied, "I would like to, but I do have a duty here. I don't want to take Fangs away from his owner, but I can't leave Zoe by himself either." She declined to add what havoc the jealous Gwee would rain upon the unfortunate booth if she was gone too long. To the customer, she offered a slight smile and infamously did what she did best: opened her mouth before she thought. "Of course you can jeopardize his time, I don't blame you in the slightest."
If the woman wasn't so tan, her blush would have been the color of Lazarus' clothes. She dropped her eyes to Fangs, murmuring, "I need to get back. Would you like to stay?" It took ever fiber in her being not to flee back to her booth and hit her head on the tree. Really, she had no right trying to volunteer in a position to help others when she couldn't even monitor herself. Alex missed the interaction between Laz and Tari, but that was mostly due to her attempt to not be rude, although being herself wasn't much of an improvement.

Cutie? Surely he meant the lady; Lucado wasn't fooling himself, for all that he wished. Fanning himself a bit, he pressed the cool plastic container to one cheek and smiled. "Well, you got my sweet for me plenty fine," he said fairly, with a little grin as he watched the false shyness -- and his eyes turned to the cat for a moment.
"A cat... that likes vodka?" Lucado questioned lightly, toying with the braid that held the bright beads in his hair. He'd never been too much for cats; they all tended to bite him... and with a name like Fangs, he didn't dare touch, not even for flirtation purposes -- that the woman obviously had picked up on, with what she said. Whatever benefit that the cold treat had had on his composure, a fresh blush undid.

"He's wet cause I got punched in the nose," Bard said with a bit of snip in his voice as if the boy that had punched him were about to pop up any moment. Like the flicker of annoyance that had crossed him when he'd mentioned Venus, Bard was quickly back to his old self, minus the snippy tone. "He likes soda too. Mostly diet soda though. That one's a bit vain if you haven't noticed." It was a love-hate relationship between him and that feline. Where as he couldn't ever bring himself to actually hate the cat, the two of them were always at odds with each other.
At Alex's rejection of his offer for her to stay and chat Bard put on a wibbly lipped pout with doe eyes that widdened those bright green orbs. He was about to argue when she mentioned someone named Zoe and he instantly gave up, propping the bright smile back onto his lips. "Well I'm sure Fangs and Zoe will get along grand. If'n you hadn't noticed, that little thing only likes women. And me for some reason but sometimes I wonder." Lucado was right to stay back from Fangs for if he'd attempted to interrupt his little nap against Alex's bosom he'd have been very upset.
Bard didn't even have any reply to Alex's startling comment to the other customer but it did manage to bring a blush to his tanned cheeks. Well, that didn't happen very often.

Her ears perked at the mention of ‘vodka.’ They were selling vodka? At an event like this? That sure was unusual, but hell if she didn’t like the notion! Sadly though, it was just too hot for her at the moment to try and even down some alcohol as tempting as the thought was.
Now normally Ebony was even tempered (such lies), but when it was hot and people just stuck around like barnacles to a ship, it would set off a certain rudeness in her. She folded her arms over her own busty, blue bikini clad chest and began tapping a sandaled foot in irritation. Try as she might, her anger got the best of her as she placed a glare towards Lucado. Of course he couldn’t see the slated glare due to her sunglasses, but one could just feel it. “Oi…mate, you ordering something else or you just gonna keep standing there making googly eyes at the vendor? Cause I would really like to get some water, if you lovebirds don’t mind?”

Great. All three of them were blushing. Quite the trio, this was.
"He's dry now...couldn't let that gorgeous fur get matted." Alex shook her head shyly, a little alarmed that Fangs had fallen asleep. Given his choice of nesting spot, she supposed it might be comfortable, although the thought was a wry one and brought a slight smile to her lips. The look the man gave her made the smile grow into a grin; she was a sucker for those puppy-dog eyes, and it was just as well that he dropped it. "Ah, Zoe is jealous and pouting. He's my Gwee," she added in a rush, temporarily forgetting that this man didn't know what Lorenzo was. It made her realize she didn't know his name, even though his pet was nestled in a bit of an intimate spot.
"I'm Alex," she stopped petting Fangs long enough to extend her hand to the purple-haired man. Her eyes skimmed over his face carefully, although her expression was gentle. "Are you okay? Your nose, I mean. You look great...f-for being punched in the nose." If she could sink into the ground, she would have done so in an instant. Open mouth; insert foot.
She glanced to Lucado, grin still intact, offering, "If you come by the charms booth, I'll give you one for letting me take my sweet time. It's on me." She didn't mind paying for the charms; there was a good chance she'd be slipping a few extra bills in there anyway. It was only after she was regaining a shred of dignity by remembering that she was here for a good cause when one of the people in lined pipped up. Alex ducked her head, looking at the man behind the counter apologetically. "That's our cue, I think," she murmured quietly enough that the purple-haired man and Lucado may not have heard.

It was getting hotter and her current selection of clothing just wasn't cutting it. Fanning herself with a frenzied free hand, Lonni felt her camera gain a second skin of pure sticky sweat. A sense of dread made the poor woman want to curl up into a ball but the heat prevented it. To recede into the fetal position would be body temperature suicide!
"Alright then! I shall take my mind off this gods cursed heat and take out my frustration by taking mondo shots of photos! YAY LONNI!"
Pumping her fist in the air and completely oblivious to the fact that no one in this day and age wold be caught dead using the word 'mondo', the simple and plain looking photographer went into a photographing whirlwind. Her brown hair streamed out behind her like ribbons fluttering in the wind as the young timid woman went from booth to booth, snapping shots of the raevans and the jaw-opened admirers. Lonni was especially pleased with her ability to capture that look of raw awe on the looks of the booth customers, the mouth opened in that one 'O'.
As time sped by and the film was slowly (or speedily) used up, Lonni's burst of enthusiam died. Reduced down to a heap of 80% sweat 10% meek woman, and 10% other, Lonni crumbled down in the weak shade by a booth, hoping her presence would not be a nuisance to others.

Lucado's poor heart nearly stopped, and fumbling, he stammered a bit, at the snappish reprimand. He backed away, hastily, looking at the woman before regaining his composure. "I'm sorry, ma'am," said the novelist, his face scarlet with shame, and he backed away from the booth, ashamed. He should've known better! He castigated himself harshly.
"E-err -- p-perhaps I'll just, a-ah, take you up on that offer," he said to Alex, nodding as he moved back a bit. Looking to Bard, he chanced a quick, "My name's Lucado, by the way -- Lucado Ashenvale. If you want to talk sometime, that is..." before shifting out of the way for the vocal, angry-sounding woman. He may have been a man, but he was one with a sense of when it was best to just back off.

"Thank you so much for cleaning him mam. If there's anything I can do to replay you I'll be more than happy to jump on the chance. When Rivener comes back and if he takes the stall back, I'll come visit the two of you at your stall and you can introduce me to your gwee," he finished, feeling terrible he'd called her gwee female. Bard had managed to assume that the woman was talking about a little girl instead of a fond nick name for a male pet. Not that it mattered, he'd already made a fool of himself.
At the introduction he happy gripped her hand within his own and shook it good naturedly, trying his best to keep from shaking Fangs awake in the process. "The name's Bard and it is a great honor that such a beautiful woman as yourself would think it fit to give a guy like me your name." After letting go of her hand he reached to his nose and prodded it lightly with a finger, biting back a wince of pain that it caused "Do I? I've never been punched in the face before so I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to look. I was just glad I didn't bleed all over the place."
The irritable woman that started grouching at Lucado brought Bard's attention back to his job, though it wasn't with a great deal of happiness. For one thing he was clearly trying to help customers at the moment, which was his job, and for another, were there no polite women at this event? The only one that seemed to have any manners was this Alex woman beside him. Any why the devil were they all in bikinis?!
"It's not a crime to chat with people miss but being rude is completely uncalled for. Water's fifty cents as it says on the sign. Would you like a straw with that?" Bard had a smile upon his face but it didn't speak the volumes of friendliness he'd been previously pouring out to Lucado and Alex. At Alex and Lucado's more or less escape from the woman, as it was clear they weren't leaving to just mill about else where, Bard's mood grew even more sour. "I'm sure I'll see you around cutie. You too Alex," he called to their backs jokingly and giving a wave before turning back to the woman with a blank look, waiting for her answer about straws.

As the man stepped aside and she took his place in front of the counter, “Think nothing of it darling and you don’t have to leave. I just wanted to order my water is all. Didn’t mean to get you all jittery and what.” Ebony quickly wrapped an around the soft toned male before he could get away, and rapped her knuckles upon the wooden counter, “Two waters mate, for me and my friend here. As cold as you can make ‘em. And I won’t be needing a straw thank you. How’s about you? Straw?” As suddenly as her anger came, it evaporated and left nothing but a toothy grin in its place. Weirdness, suppose it was just the heat then.

This time, the blush showed. It showed even more at his compliment, which caused her to duck her head further. Even though she was more or less as red as she could be, she felt as though she would turn redder still. "You just...don't look like you were in a scuff," she mumbled, withdrawing her hand to pet Fangs again. Alex lifted her gaze to Lucado, smiling faintly at him. Leaning towards the blushing man, she murmured, "Don't worry about it too much...it seems like the heat is making a lot of people irritable."
Turning her attention back to Bard, she lifted her head to smile warmly at him. "That'd be nice...come by at least to get some aspirin, maybe Fangs will be awake by then." There, that wasn't so bad! Alex had to stop petting Fangs once more to pick up the bowls, expertly balancing the cat on her chest as she turned back towards Lucado, resting her smile upon him. "You're welcome to come as well. Since he'd like to see you again and all." The woman felt herself grinning again; perhaps it wasn't just Aphismet she liked to tease, perhaps it was shy men in general.
"There's shade there too." She wasn't trying to sweeten the offer, just put the man at ease. As she started back to her booth, she caught sight of a very worn out looking woman at the other side of the booth. "Bard?" she called back, hoping she wasn't interrupting again, "Can you bring this woman a water when you get a chance? I'll...pay for it soon." Meaning, when her breasts weren't acting as pillows. Alex smiled down at the woman with her camera, looking apologetic yet again, "I'd give you some myself, but my hands are, ah...a little occupied." Still supporting Fangs and grasping the bowls in her other hand, she must have looked quite silly.
"Enjoy the festival, and keep cool," she offered, unable to do much more than impart a little kindness. With a polite nod, she continued to her booth, relieved to see Lorenzo still beneath the tree and finishing up his treat. Alex was able to move quite carefully with the cat balanced on her cleavage, kneeling slowly to put a bowl down by Gwee and fill it with water from her previously discarded bottle. She did the same with the second bowl, putting it under her chair for the time being, since Fangs seemed to be sleeping contently. Sitting down once more, she slid down at an angle so the cat could continue to rest without her immediate support, resume her gentle stroking of his fur.

Surprise widened Lucado's eyes as he was suddenly stopped in his flight from the other -- by an arm around him. He blinked twice, then simply smiled, sheepishly. "I-I, er, no, I don't r-really need a straw -- but you don't have to buy me anything," he fumbled, smiling at the woman in befuddlement. Must've been the heat, indeed -- but then Lucado had never even pretended to understand women, so perhaps that violent moodswing was natural?
Heavens and bright shiny stars above, but he was so out of his element, it wasn't even funny -- but then, he couldn't even say it was a bad place. Just a terribly, terribly confusing one as he listened to Alex speak. "O-of course -- I'll come and enjoy the shade with you as well..." He waved after her helplessly, smiling.
"I need to get out more," he muttered to himself, very much under his breath.
