Mike watched his friend trail off in thought, deciding not to bother her. He'd learned that pressing a girl when she looks like that only leads to tears or something thrown at him. "Kassie sure is giving me funny looks today." He said to no one in particular, leaning back into Nitro's wings. He watched the clouds float by, trying to decipher some hidden pictures in them. "You enjoying your little vacation Nitro?" The Pokemon nodded, genuinely happy about his time off. Sure, battling was always great, but he didn't want to be Mike's sole focus. After all, Portabello needed to catch up. He smirked at that last thought.
"Glad you think so," he said, lifting his arms and placing them behind his head. "Oh, I can't believe I forgot to tell you of all people! Felsic evolved just ten minutes ago in the last fight!" The boy fidgeted in his place, still in a fit over how cool he was. "You should have seen him, he's amazing!"
Nitro lowered his head. He felt bad about missing Felsic's first transformation, and now the other one had come and gone. They grow up so fast...

"Sting, try to fly backwards to dodge it!" Ky yelled when he saw the bird change positions to attack. Sting did so, but it only lessened the damage by a little bit. Ulani's Peck really made Sting come to realize how dangerous this bird could be. He reeled in pain as her beak dug into his abdomen. It seemed the attack was perfect for getting through a bug's armor. Nevertheless, Sting became that much more serious to battle. Now he needed to prove that no Pokemon was going to get away with hurting him so.
Ky could almost sense Sting's intensity, giving him a moment of relief. "All right! She's in perfect position now Sting! Give her your strongest Fury Attack!" he ordered. Seeing the bird right in front of him, Sting brought down his forearms like hammers, trying to pummel the bird to the ground with quick crazy strikes. Ky shared the same smile as M.A. 'Sting's got the true fighting spirit. It's nice to know that he'll always put up a good fight,' Ky thought. 'Also, with Little Guy in my pocket, I know this is going to be one great battle.'

Frowning when he didn't hear a response he sighed.Shifting Levi and Meowth in his arms, before deciding that they were to heavy and placing them on Apollo's back. Steeling himself Dante prepaired to issue his challange to the gym leader. "Liuetenant Surge gym I would like to challange you to a gym battle. Then after that I would like to ask you a few questions, if that is all right with you." He finished off kinda lamely. Really this had to be his worse gym leader challange yet. He just hoped that he got gym leaders attention. ((Normally that would be a better post but for some reason its not...))

((Sorry about the late response Melph... I had my post all written up in my handy dandy notebook ^^ ))
Mr. Reid, the gentleman who's Pikachu suffered defeat at the claws of Meowth, took note of Dante's challenge, and stepped forward, clearing his throat. "He's not here at the moment, Lad. He's gone out on an afternoon constitutional to clear his mind. Perhaps if you return later--"
At that moment, the front doors of the gym opened, and inside stepped a rather good-humored Lt. Surge. He was laughing heartily, slapping an equally amused trainer with stringy, blonde hair and bright green eyes on the shoulder. "No, but seriously, Glen, do you think she'd be willing to come back home someday an' help me run the gym? She'd be a pretty formidable gym leader, dontcha think?"
"I don't doubt her prowess, Lieutenant. I've battled with her before, remember?" He shook his head, adjusting the electric guitar he had strapped across his back. "But you'd have to ask her yourself."
"Hmm." Surge paused, scratching his stubbly chin thoughtfully. "I'm guessing she's off battling Koga right about now." He trailed off, smiling wistfully. "Y'know, Glenny-boy, I'm really proud of m'girl."
"We all are, Lieutenant," Glen nodded, stopping as he spotted Dante and Mr. Reid. "Begging your pardon, Lieutenant, but it looks as if you have another challenger."
"What? Another one?" Surge barked, stopping and looking at Dante. "Seems like everyone wants a piece o' me lately," he grumbled, eyeing the silver and black Ponyta warily. He flexed his broad arms and shoulders, his larger-than-life demeanor returning almost instantly as he took his place in front of Dante. "Whaddya want?" he grunted, meaty hands on his wide hips.

((Thats ok, I was just made that because I wasn't exactly sure if the other post was a good enough one is all.)) Upon hearing the booming voice behind him Dante jumped slightly. Looking back he saw the Surge and paused for a moment, it wasn't everyday that he was intimidated but today just happened to be one of them. Getting a grip on himself he snapped himself into the best salute he could muster. "Liuetenant Surge Sir! I would like to challange you to a gym battle. After that I would like to ask what you know of the Legendary Pokemon Zapdos. You are Kanto's electric gym leader and I think that you would be the best person to ask about Kanto's Legendary electric bird!" Dante said the best he could trying to keep his voice steady. "But if you all ready had a gym match today I can always wait for tomarrow if you like."
When the fire pony heard the loud voice he unconsciously straightened his posture. Perhaps it was the mans comanding demenior but he felt like he needed to be at his best in front of the man. Levi and Meowth who were on Apollo's back just looked at the there trainer and Apollo confused, not quite getting why they wanted to impress this gym leader.

Not Spite! he growled in his mind. I'll show you some spite, Morty... Kilik flexed his fingers and then growled. He couldn't have Lombre waste more Surf attacks on an opponent that depleted five of his points. His only other option for a powerful attack was Giga Drain, and that barely scathed Haunter. He looked away for a moment, then nodded. "It won't do much! But at least it'll be super effective! Lombre!" Kilik laughed, "Use your Astonish!"
The Pokemon looked at his trainer with an estranged look. Why that attack? Then suddenly it hit him. It could cause his opponent to flinch! With that, Lombre hopped into the air and brought down his flipper upon the opposing Haunter.
Maybe I counted my loss too early. Lombre's still in this!

"So, wanna make this an all-out, six-on-six mega battle?" Lisa asked, flipping her blue hair out of her face.
"Normally I'd be up for that," Jaeshan replied humbly, "but one of my Pokemon is still recovering from injuries she suffered a few days ago."
"Sorry to hear about that, but it is kind of a relief," Lisa giggled. "I've only got five Pokemon on me today anyways."
"Then why'd you ask...?" Jaeshan started, but decided not to question it. He tried once more to flatten his unruly blonde hair. "Well, let's start then," he nodded.
Almost instantly, Torchic hopped down, ready to fight again. She scratched the ground excitedly, ready for a good battle.
"Someone's eager," Lisa smiled. "And that's fine! I've got the perfect opponent for you, too! Let's go!" She let her Pokeball fly, revealing a jolly-looking Drowzee. "I just caught him this morning. Let's see what you can do! Pound attack!"
The brown and yellow Pokemon ran forward, its arm raised as it attempted to slam its fist into Torchic. The young chick watched her foes movements closely, and nimbly jumped to the side, avoiding the attack completely.
"Torchic! Give it your Flamethrower!" Jaeshan countered. Rearing back, the small Fire-type released a wild blast of flames. Unfortunately, she forgot to aim first, and her attack missed her opponent completely, nearly roasting Lisa instead.

Kasiya blinked, coming back to her senses. She wasn't supposed to be moping in the past, and over things she couldn't change. "I'm sorry, Mikey," she said quietly.
Fang let out a screech, swooping back around and landing on Hiro's head again. The Arcanine snorted; he didn't like being treated as the Crobat's personal perch. He shook his head, trying to shoo the green flier away, but Fang hung on, waving his upper wings at Kasiya excitedly.
"What's up?" she asked, looking around. "Have you found the exit?"
Fang shook his head and flew up again, revealing a dead end. Kasiya sighed, and buried her face in Hiro's mane again; uttering a few choice words she'd rather not have Mike hear. "Fang, this is a dead end. You're supposed to be leading us out of here, not getting us lost, you flighty dingbat!" Fang gave a look of distress, flailing his wings around wildly before he flew off again in a huff. Hiro just grinned, and padded after him, quite content to carry his mistress around on his back.
Not too much longer after that, the group managed to stumble their way out of the maze, driving off any would-be challengers with menacing growls and toothy grings from Nitro and Hiro.
"It shouldn't be long now," Kasiya said in a singsong sort of voice. She had the map spread out on Hiro's head like a large paper hat, and was tracing over their progress with her finger. "It would have taken so much longer without our wonderful companions to help us out."

"I'll say," Mike gave Nitro another pat on the head. "You always find more ways to be useful don't you buddy?" Nitro emitted a low growl, something like a purr at the compliment. Being Mike's Pokemon was tops, he really made you feel wanted. His tail swished around happily as he walked towards the gatehouse, quite happy to be out of the maze himself.
The wind kicked up, blowing Mike's bangs into his eyes. He let out a surprised yip, quickly correcting the error. "Almost there Kassie," He said, still fumbling with his hair. "I swear, you're going to get cut off if you keep misbehaving!"

Ulani gave a high-pitched squawk as she was beaten down to the ground; it didn't help that she was so light and that those stingers weren't very forgiving. By the time Sting had relented, Ulani lied rather awkwardly in the dirt, growling softly in pain from that aggressive. continuous volley of punches -- it worked as a brief Growl attack, actually, although that was unconscious on her part.
The little blue bird hopped up, still cooing. The two feathers that topped her head drooped a little bit now, and she didn't look anywhere near as frisky as before. Rather, it looked like she wasn't really enjoying this 'game' anymore -- it wasn't fun when it hurt! But that reluctance to battle was totally ripped to shreds once she noted her condition. No, not health-wise, for she still had quite a bit left in her, but cleanliness-wise; her snowy-white, soft wings were unmistakably, thoroughly stained with dirt! Detestable, unbearable ugliness! Ulani's eyes suddenly flared with a great and terrible anger, and she turned on Sting with none of the playfulness of before. Fire seemed to generate from nowhere, and the little bird in the midst of it all must've been the one radiating this inferno of rage.
M.A. fell on her butt, taken aback by the Swablu's sudden change and quite literally feeling the heat. Well, she was glad it wasn't her that Ulani was mad at, at least. . . As for Daemyn, he could only sigh and shake his head. Here we go again, the little puppy seemed to say -- he'd experienced this side of Ulani before himself.
The usually passive bird was in a state of unquenchable fury, stronger than the last time. Perhaps it was that her anger levels followed the level of dirtiness she was in. Nevertheless, she listened to M.A.'s barely audible command, and was more than eager to comply. With a noticeable increase of ferocity, she slammed herself into Sting once again with another Peck.

Surge blinked at Dante's enthusiasm, and then burst out laughing. Even though his face was black and blue, and his nose covered by a bandage, he still had it! "That's fine, kid, you came for a battle, and a battle shall we have. C'mon," he waved his large hand, and the area cleared. Glen stepped up to referee while Mr. Reid used a Revive to awaken his Pikachu. The small electric mouse looked on from the sidelines in excitement; it was always great to see the Lieutenant in action. "Sergeant, if you would find that book for me?" Surge asked, and Mr. Reid nodded, vanishing into the back room that served as Surge's office.
"Lieutenant!" Glen called from his post. Once he had the leader's attention, the two exchanged several gestures. When Glen was sure he had the message correctly, he cleared his throat and looked down at the two. "This is an official Pokemon League Gym Battle," he said, very official-like. "Each trainer will use one Pokemon each, with no time limit. Begin!" Glen raised two flags - a green one for Surge, and a Red for Dante.
"This is it, kiddo," Surge laughed. "Show me your best!"

Morty clicked his tongue a few times, and shook his head. "You're too quick to underestimate your opponent, Kilik." Haunter flashed a wild grin at Lombre as it landed the Astonish attack. It was super effective, yes, but it wasn't enough to take out the ghostly Pokemon just yet. Also, Haunter was much faster to react than Lombre, and at Morty's command, it floated back and launched another shadowy orb at the strange, frog-like Pokemon.

Rather abruptly, Keegan sneezed as he walked. He shrugged it off and continued to walk, thinking about what it would be like when Themis finally evolved. Loki had chosen a crucial moment during his battle with Brawly to change forms, and Artemis evolved in order to match strengths with that Marowak the other day in Celadon City. Whatever the circumstances, he assumed the Electrike would choose a time that was perfect for him.
Now humming lightly to himself, Keegan spotted a girl walking by herself. He grinned, and quickened his pace to catch up with her. "Hey there," he said, trying to be friendly.
"Um, hello," she said quietly, trying not to look at him. On closer inspection, it was revealed that the girl had a small red and white Pokemon coiled around her wrist - a rather rare Chimecho.
"Would you like to battle?" he asked rather abruptly, which made the girl stop.
"Yeah, sure, I guess so," she shrugged, after a moment or two. "I'm not doing anything anyways."
"Great," Keegan grinned, already holding up a Poke Ball. "How many?"
"Uh, two each," she nodded; now wearing a shy smile. "Ready when you are!" The Chimecho uncoiled itself from her wrist and floated to the ground, its tail flowing slightly in the breeze.
"Let's go, Themis!" the boy said as he released the Electrike. Themis pawed the ground, eyeing his surroundings before he took note of the battle. Growling, he got into position. Hopefully this will make up for not using him in the gym battle, the boy thought as the girl told her Pokemon to start off with a Wrap. "Quick Attack!"
Themis became a yellow streak as he dashed towards his foe, slamming into the Chimecho with his shoulder, only to become wrapped by the Wind Chime's long tail.

"Yes!" Kasiya giggled, pumping a fist into the air. "Almost to Fuchsia, and my next badge!" Her enthusiasm was contagious, and soon Hiro was barking right along with her. He didn't even mind so much that Fang had landed on him again, and was riding on his back, towards his bushy tail.
All that was left for them to cover now was a widespread area filled with tall grass, and what appeared to be many trainers hanging around. In the horizon, they could see Fuchsia City rising up, and Kasiya's heart raced with excitement. Soon, that Soul Badge will be mine! She passed by a couple of girls who were deep in conversation. They stopped and looked at her, then giggled to themselves and went right back to talking. Kasiya frowned and ushered Hiro along. She suddenly really wanted to battle, but couldn't help but feel a little vulnerable with her strongest Pokemon currently down for the count. She stopped the Arcanine again when she spied a trio of bikers parked nearby, the Kanto Federation flag flapping above their heads in the wind. Wondering perhaps if she could ask them for a practice battle, she hopped down from the Arcanine's back and made her way over, making sure that her Kanto Federation emblem was plainly visible.
"Uh, hi guys," she said casually.

Not really liking being laughed at, but not really caring enough to say something about it Dante sighed in his mind before taking his place on his side of the battlefeild. Upon hearing the rules Dante was faced with a tough desision. He could use Apollo or Bahamut for this battle, while Bahamut would have the advantige, being a ground type and all, Apollo seemed to be ready to go though. Sighing he decided which pokemon to use. "Sorry boy but you will get your turn next time, I want you to watch this battle though." He said to the disapointed Ponyta.
Reaching into his bag he pulled out a Bahamuts pokeball. With it in his hands he felt more confident. "I wish you good luck taking this girl down. Lets go Bahamut!" He said tossing it out to reveal the Vibravra who upon being released twirled around in the air before coming to hover a few feet from the ground. "All right Bahamut lets have some fun here." He said with a smirk. A determined look appeared on Bahamuts face and she gave a little screech of acknollagement.
