"Please let us talk to her. There were some adolecance and they were going to go join the Fallen in a raid in the borderlands." Vastina said to the guard hoping that he would let them through. Rue looked up at the guard and nodded as if trying to confirm what the little Ascended had said.

"I fear that I can't tell you why it happens to you. That is an answer I can not feel nor tell." Risen started as he remained standing. He felt a little bad for her for at least he had gotten to choose his path. "And because I see fate you could say that I am not so different then you. A prophet of sorts. I have not a home nor family nor friend."
The dragon turned man moved a little even as he wondered how long before one of the other hounds would find them. How aptly she had said it earlier. "Ms. Avalene you even have more of a past then I do. As for what we do...feel fate as it were...well control is not something you can associate with fate very well."
He glanced towards the village knowing that the ranger might come soon or that someone else will. It was inevitable. He could already feel the Knights moving to find her. "As for me being different...I lack a past as I have said. Maybe that is why you have a hard time with my presence."
He had no idea if she would believe him but he hoped that she would. They were answers and partly true...however not enough truth to cause more problems...he hoped. "And now that I can properly introduce myself, please just call me Wanderer. I have gotten use to that name/title."

That was that then.
She'd done her part, and it was time to go. Without wave or word goodbye, Jayara not at all regretfully left the little girl and the little girl's family to whatever fate they chose for themselves.
And with any chance, she would see neither of them again.
~~~~~
With a paced hurry as not to arouse any more suspicion than she had to, the wayward ranger made her way to the various shops in town. Jayara restocked arrows, rations, oil, herbs, salves, and whatever else she could come up with for the ride ahead plus a little more. Her gut wasn't sitting right, and thusly she extra-prepared. Then again, it could all be for naught as the irritation could have just been due to not having eaten yet, though she seriously doubted it.
After running her errands, the lady ranger and Dulcimer were back on the road heading toward the southern end of town.
"Well, it is common sense, Mister. You watch where the dragons travel, and you know where they are. Plus, I've been in contact with one, not that that is any intrest to you. I don't even know why I bother going. I doubt the dragons would let me in anyways, but hey, it is worth a shot. Why do you ask?" Azra had turned around again, her eye's gleaming brightly with amusment.
---
Grishmak rolled his eyes and watched, as he became more, and more amused by the whole situation. He was also doubting that the dragons would be permitted in, though, even he himself had no idea what the kinghts would do about a raid. Somewhere, within him he felt like it was a hopeless cause, but his small heart went out to the young dragons. Not that he would admit it.
"What this dragon says is true," Viscal said out of the blue, "I heard the dragons say so. Not to mention they seemed somewhat...threatning to the peace of the meeting place. Though, if you ask me, the peacefulness here seems like it could be shattered with just a single stone."
Grishmak glanced around, he would feel something, like Viscal said, but he couldn't be sure. Instead, he let his curiosity get the better of him.
"Is some thing wrong?"
-The man rose his glance at the girl- "The reason I ask, anything young needs a chance to grow and learn, but I am afraid this little one has no where to go and is too reckless for it's current stage."
-the man sighed- "But what do you care you would rather probably see him grow and kill me later."
-Crevan growled sensing his motive now disagreeing with his last statement.-
"But since you question my reason. I can not trust you with him, for your heart towards the dragons is slightly darken." -he then picked up the cage and turned his back to the girl continuing to walk west.-
The dragon nodded after a moment and giving the group one last wary look turned and started walking into the Knight's hallways.
"Follow me," he said, "I'll see if she'll have an audience with you... she's really just waiting for the Knights to return from their mission at this point, anyway. And if you really do know something about the Fallen's actions."
He sighed heavily.
"We're stretched a bit thin right now. An egg theft set off far too many things that have been long in coming."
The dragon led the group through some arching corridors before coming to a central room, circular in shape like almost all of Genyiel, and in the middle, resting on a stone slab raised up from the floor, was Shadine. She looked at the small group and then at the dragon who led them in.
"Thank you, I can take it from here," she told him, not even giving him a chance to speak, "I know some of these."
He looked startled, then bowed his head and left with a soft 'yes, m'lady.' Shadine rose and looked down on the dragons.
"Whatever you bring to me, it is urgent. I sense it. Speak quickly, then."
----------------------
"That's it then?" Avalene said to Risen, "Thanks. That helps a lot. I thought you might have answers but I guess not... Seems no one does. What kind of game is this, that we're stuck with these fates and we can't control them?"
She stood and jabbed at the ground with the butt of her spear in frustration.
"I feel nervous. Like there's too much energy in me. Means something is going to happen."
Down the road Avalene could see a horse. She bit her lip and hesitated. Maybe she shouldn't have told Jayara she could come. Because if she wasn't mistaken there were shapes appearing on the horizon. Hounds.
"Dragons," she finally said, "This involves dragons, doesn't it? Everything that's happened. The prophecy about heritage, Yvette's hired men, you. Me. Dragons."
And she pointed to the rapidly approaching creatures in the sky.
It was just outside the south side of the town when Dulcimer's stride began to falter and lose it's rhythm. It had grown edgy and slightly panicked, and the ranger took a tighter grip on the reigns as she looked about for the source.
It wasn't until the sound of oncoming thunder had crept to her ears that her eyes widened. Without a grey cloud in the sky, it could only mean one thing.
They had to leave - Now.
Jayara hurried down the road, estimating what areas she would most likely find Avalene at. Prophetic visions or not, there was no way that gal couldn't see what was in the sky now.
"We need to go! Get out and get over here!" the ranger shouted at the roadsides whenever she had Dulcimer pause between short bursts of movement. "We've got a whole herd of dragons coming this way and we're not going to stick around to see the results!" she yelled, hoping that at any moment, Avalene would come out from whatever brushwood she had set herself in.
Grishmak and Viscal decided to stay silent, and let the young dragons explain. After all, it was the young dragons who wanted to tell them in the first place. Well, if you counted out Grishmak's feeling of 'I have to do this.' If you were to ask Viscal, he was pretty sure they were only tagging along because they had nothing better to do. Though, Viscal seemed to be the only dragon who would be content with nothing to do. It didn't occur to him he could've left at some point.
---
"I would like to see him kill you? What an interesting statement. I don't belive ever mentioning anything like that," Azra declared, while thinking hard about what she had said, "though, it is somewhat my job to question a person's logic, not that the likes of you would understand. You are just in a hurry to get where you are going and not talk to anyone. Though, I guess if I was someone with evil intentions, that would be smart."
The girl stopped, and started to walk in the oppisite direction, and called over her shoulder, "If you ever are in need of finding me, I've given you a big hint as to where to find me," there was an unmistakable sound of laughter coming from her.
-The man just shook'd his head and looked down at the little dragon.- "Well my little friend it looks like she does have a heart for your kind, even though you attack without warning, Just as she Questions without reason." -Crevan then looked at the girl and sniffed the air and looked to the direction she was walking in and clawed at the bars towards the Girl talking about logic now.--The man then stopped and looked back at the girl- "I will only state this once." "Where on swift wings the dragon flies, Through distant and uncharted skies, O'er mountain crags and forests old, To guard his hoard of hidden gold, I sought him out and called his name. He answered with a jet of flame: "If you be friend, enter my lair. If you be foe, then do not dare!" -Ernest Drake- -The man smiled as he set Crevan down for it has been awhile he felt challenge and pulled out his dragon crested sword and yelled to the Girl- "Do You Want To Still Test My Logic, Then Answer My Friend In The Lands That Dead Dragons Roam." -The Man Felt Frustrated cause he didn't pick up the second scent but then he hasn't bathed for some time now... and then waited for any response both negative and costly- -Crevan looked through the bars for what the man said seemed so familiar in a way.-
Avalene turned at the sound of Jayara's voice and hopped down onto the road, lifting her split-skirt and hurrying over.
"Go!" she called, "Just GO. Don't worry about me - you get yourself out here."
She took a deep breath. They'd all left her at some point. One more person wasn't going to make a difference. And at least this time... this one time... it would be for a good reason. And she'd be the one sending them away. Jayara had stayed for this long despite the prophecies and that was more than what most people had done.
"Please," Avalene said a bit more calmly, "I can feel that there are hounds coursing for me. For once, I'm at the center of this twisted net of fate and I don't want anyone getting hurt. Yvette's bandits were the first of the hounds. The dragons are the second. They'll come for me and me only. I don't want you to be nearby and get hurt if it comes to that. So please - just go. I'll stay here and get this over with."
She drew herself up as much as she could and planted her spear stubbornly into the ground. The Wanderer could go to hell as far as she cared. If Jayara got out of here and the dragons came and found what they wanted - well - she never expected her own life to end out well. At least she could keep others from getting involved this time.
What IS it with people today?!? the ranger's scrambled inner self wailed in confusion. While Avalene became more placid with the situation, Jayara grew more adamant.
"Forget it!" Jay shouted back, riding up right next to Avalene as close as she dared without having Dulcimer stomp all over her - though it was tempting to make it look as if the horse might do just that to make the stalwart girl budge.
"Those are bloody dragons and no story tellin' is going to stop that!" she bellowed, pointing at the sky. "Even if you do have a death wish, lady, then at least get on the horse so we can lead them away from the town!" moving the target of her pointing finger from the sky to the settlement behind her. "You said you don't want anyone hurt; so don't stand there and let it happen," Jay said, looking straight at Avalene with an outreached hand offered out to her.
The coming of his own kind made Risen frown from deep inside him. He would have to keep them away. He moved quickly even as Avalene tried to stand her ground. "Madam Jayara please move her quickly if you can." He then headed towards the knights in a jog. Once out of the sight of the two women he returned to his true form and let out a roar. He wanted Avalene to be scared...scared into running. And he wanted the dragon knights to know they would have opposition in obtaining their quary.
Avalene hesitated for just a moment. That was when she felt it - a strange tug just below her ribcage, like an invisible thread was carrying her on.
The third hound. The stranger, the wanderer, the one who defied fate. Her breath caught in her throat. He had been one of the hounds all along.
"It's not a death wish," she snarled, but took Jayara's hand and let herself be pulled up into the saddle behind her, "They're not here to kill me. But... our strange friend there is here for a reason too."
She smiled grimly.
"Let's let them sort things out between each other. Fate wants me to keep running, it appears."
----------
The dragons started to drop altitude near the town and as Risen turned into his true form and roared, the lead dragon banked sharply and came in for a hard landing near where Risen was waiting. Two dragons landed with him and the rest circled above. They all wore armor and bore the linked-chain banner of the Dragon-Bound Knights.
"What are you?" Master Lierce demanded, his Bound in the saddle with his spear, "You are dragon, but your wings... they are like nothing I have ever seen before. Speak quickly as to why you challenge us - we have been sent by the council on a very important mission and cannot be delayed."
The ranger remained silent to Avalene's words, withholding her own judgment and reasons on the matter. Risen's sudden presence had barely registered, but his appearance and words took hold in the woodswoman's subconscious. As soon as Avalene was seated with a grip, she had dug her heels into the jittery horse's side with a "Heeeyup!" and was already speeding down the dirt road.
The plan was to take the road for a short amount of time before diverting into the woods for the majority of the way. The clear road would hopefully put a little distance between them and the town while the forest would serve two functions: keep the dragons from being able to follow them easily, if at all, through the trees and to better hide them from any eyes above. The ranger's biggest fear was if the dragons decided to recklessly dive after them from above if they caught up. At best, she could only keep Dulcimer to the thickest and tallest trees, both for camouflage and cover. The other fear rested on the dragons' stamina. Dulcimer couldn't run forever, especially with a second rider. Sooner or later they would need to travel on foot.
The only thing left undecided at this point was where to go. Heading in one direction point was all fine and dandy, but they couldn't keep running forever. Heading any closer to dragon territory was out as well as anything closer to Yvette's hold. Avalene had expressed a certain avoidance of anything mage-like so a good section of the southern lands were out. All that left was the central territories and western coast.
At about this point in the thought process, Jay decided to make the move into the forest.
"Hold on tight and keep your head low!" the lead rider shouted to Avalene in order to be heard over Dulcimer. "We're heading into the woods!"
"What I am matters not." Risen said calmly as he gathered strength. "I have a duty and it conflicts with your own." He clapped his tail on the ground and the path that Avalene and Jayara took into the woods was barred by stone spikes. "You can not pass." He stared at Lierce knowing that the battle would be fierce but unavoidable. The blessed then hammered his claws into the earth which sent rocks flying at the Knights. It had begun.
Vastina was stuck a little in awe at seeing the Lady for something just told her that Shadine was important even though the little Ascended didn't really understand why. She shook off her awe though when Rue walked a little past her and addressed the lady.
"The Fallen are going to raid some human villages in the Boarderlands." The little ragamuffin said in an urgent tone. Rue definately didn't want to see anyone hurt when he could do soemthing about it. Vastina wouldn't like it either. "Please...is there any way to stop them?"
