Link brought up a shield of water to protect her from the fire that was being thrown at her. She had already learned to be careful; her bleeding shoulder was proof of that. Her eyes went wide in astonishment as she saw a shadow replicate itself to look like her. She could only hope it just looked like her and couldn’t fight like her or use her abilities; that would prove a difficult face-off.
To Link this battle was just now getting annoying. The misty-green eyed dragon pulled harder on Axys’ water bonds, now attaching them not only to his feet but to his wrists. Vines clawed back up at him making every attempt to sink their poisonous thorns and needles into him. Link continued binding him relentlessly; as soon as Axys was out of the running she figured his crazy shadow creatures would lay off.
But she couldn’t continue fighting the summoner from a distance, the battle would have to end up close. Either she’d get the best of him or he’d get the best of her – the pale dragon prayed that it was not the latter. She only hoped Synrai was now safe . . .

Ekanta wasn’t fond of being jostled around. Nor was she very fond of fighting and even less fond of heights. She was in the wrong situation to be escaping those things. The quivering mermaid held onto Wyvern for dear life, her eyes closed tightly. As soon as she felt him slow she peeked a bit and was relieved to see that they were back at her lake.
Ekanta made no hesitation in jumping back into the water. Taking a deep breath she plunged in, the cool water inviting and refreshing. It was a matter of seconds before her tail was back. She swished it around happily. Her hair seemed to be brighter with the water and her emerald tail that ended in crimson maroons glinted in the little light.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t have been of much help,” Ekanta apologized with her spirits raised, “But now that I’m here I will be able to assist you more. If that creature comes back I will help you.”

Leitha staggered back right before the wind cut in front of her. A slightly shocked look crossed her face when she heard a new voice. This is getting a bit much, she thought as her head swam from the amulets' high fequency pitches from her pack.
The young dragon gave a nod in understanding when she was told to do and help. So the woman over there is called Link and the man I'm fighting is Axys, she commited to memory.
She took a deep breath to clear her head of the unnecessary humming the amulets were admitting. I know there's danger around! she scolded the contants of her pack. You'd better not be lighting up.
A swift turn toward Axys and she snapped out her bo staff. She ran straight toward the summoner in new-found concentraion. Leitha held the bo staff two handed and made a flaming cresent stroke towards Axys' side.

"Okey dokey! Okey dokey! Thank you Shyrion!" Tanya gratefully and enthusiastically hugged the Tainted woman once more, then focused back on the two dragons. The one with the unfriendly darkness was getting carried away, and the fun one she had picked out to be her pet had flown off somewhere, but Tanya wasn't too worried. She still knew their exact, specific taste, smell and sound, and she could find them wherever they went now.
Let's see... Part One of Plan: Capture Dragons. What should she do? Tanya thought a few moments, then carefully listened to the darkness of the Void a while. After a few moments, her hand stretched out, to reach deeper into the Void, while at the same time, somehow still staying exactly where she was, and withdrew with a large clump of the blackest darkness Tanya could find. Hey, she was feeling a bit lazy at the moment, and since she was already in a place with strong darkness, she didn't actually need to do the swirly-whirly-twirly to make it stronger, right? She just needed some already-strong blackness.
Working swiftly, she envisioned what she wanted, and the clump of darkness split into ten globes, which flattened and moulded themselves into the shape of ten rings. Tanya tasted the blackess in each ring, looked thoughtfully at the battling dragons in the bright world, then carefully drew out the tiniest thread of darkness from each ring, and attached it to herself so she could feed the rings more power if necessary.
That done, a thin film of black abruptly grew to cover her eyes, and the rings zoomed off into the light world, intently watched by their maker. Tanya still knew where her dragons were, and directed the rings of darkness towards them, five for each dragon. They would fasten themselves around the neck, and each of the four limbs of the dragon, and from there, Tanya could just make the rings zoom back to her with dragons in tow. A simple plan, and one that would be easy-peasy to carry out. Right?

Felda keeps supporting Synrai until they are a few corners past the Hall. "Ardan wait, this'll hurt my back if I go further..." She is grateful when he stops and slips out from under the cloaked legend. Once his legs were steadied in Felda's blazing arms the two humans quickly make their way to Ardan's home. Or at least she thought, until Ardan seems to panic. The young guard leaves Synrai in her care and the shepherdess kneels with the man resting against her shoulder. Felda opens her mouth to protest but is silenced by the sight of five bobbing rings of...well, black. They nearly blend in with Nathoran's ever nocturnal sky. She chews on her lower lip and hunches down, hoping they can be on their way soon.
Before Ardan slips around the first corner of a house away from the Hall, he grins to see Lance fighting one of the minions. You show 'em, bucko! We'll move up to officer ranks of the guards in no time. Once they get past a certain point, his childhood friend's plea wills him to stop. As Felda adjusts out from under Sir Synrai, Ardan's sturdy arms keep a hold of his shoulders and sides. He waits until Felda has a firm grip on the knocked out man's legs, then continues on to his home. The Owlet looks over his shoulder briefly to check on Felda and Sir Synrai, then spots something tumbling towards them. With a growl he slowly sets the man down. Whatever they are, they are circular and nearly fade into the darkness of Rizane. Snatching his halberd from across his back he lunges at the rings. Ardan skewers a dark ring on his halberd, then curves his arm to collect the other four. Erecting the weapon skywards he gives a low cry before slinging the rings sharply to the left at a section of the stone Wall. With his free hand he opens his hand towards the rings and charges his Fire, swirling embers and flames engulf his arms. Ardan gives another yell and blasts the fire at the dark rings.
Lance has very little time to act when he feels his obviously too-loosened feet swung from beneath him. Around him his flaming shield flickers...as does a shiny, dark blade swinging forth and jabbing into his ribcage. The lanky boy gasps slightly which makes him choke on some bubbling blood. His eyes widen in panic, he looks to the side and catches a glimpse of the back of his best friend's head. Lance's mouth open and closes, his free hand reaches towards Ardan, but his arm drops. His sword slips from his other hand and Lance's head falls to the ground as he shivers. "A...Ardan..." He has no more strength to inhale for another word and his life leaves him to pool around his lengthy form.

Tanya was caught by surprise by the human's attack, but managed to steer her rings free of his fire blasts in spite of that. Since when were humans involved in the game? She thought this was just between her and the dragons. Giving a slight mental shrug, she figured the human was just an extra twist to the game, a distraction to stop her catching the dragons.
For a few moments, she thought of teasing the human and playing with him a while. But... naah. The objective of this game was to catch dragons. If it had been a game like say, Tag, and the human as the Tagger, she'd have been happy to play with him, it would have been fun. But in this game, her only concern was supposed to be the dragons. You didn't win games by wandering and side-tracking all over the place, everyone knew that.
Tanya grinned as her eyes gleamed even darker. She was the best game-player around! Little distractions weren't going to stop her!
The five rings she had assigned to the dragon with the unfriendly blackness split up, zooming upwards and off in different directions so they surrounded the dragon yet were too high for the human to really be able to blast at them well. They hovered there, occasionally shifting a little to dodge whatever tendril of flame might be accurately sent to them, but apart from that, they waited.
In the Void, Tanya drew the blackness of the place inside herself, but did not try swirling it yet. Why bother? This part of the game was easy peasy, even with the human distraction. When she thought she had enough blackness, she fed the power into her rings with one powerful burst, like stomping on a full tube of toothpaste without its cap.
The rings used that toothpaste, I mean, burst of power, to dive abruptly, straight for the dragon. They were much faster now than they were before, moving at eye-blurring speed as each ring sped to its target. One to the dragon's neck, and another for each of his limbs. They'd be securely fastened in no time at all, then Tanya could borrow the dragon and maybe make the unfriendly blackness in it not so unfriendly.

Your opponent is me. The second guardian hissed as Reyen spoke, its bulky form shifting chaotically to mirror the white-winged dragon’s body exactly, its sword stained scarlet by the human’s blood. The guardian leered at the ancient dragon with an evil grin, raising its shadow-blade up and over its head slowly. The shadow-Link behind the white dragon recovered from the crack on the head it had received, staggering upright and advancing on Reyen from behind, its offensive stance mirroring its comrade’s, its body shifting forms yet again to look exactly like the ancient dragon. The three Reyens stood completely still…
And then the two shadows dashed towards Reyen all at once, their feet barely grazing the earth below them. The first whirled about and ducked, obsidian sword gleaming darkly, aiming for the ancient dragon’s side; whilst its comrade leaped and swung wide for Reyen’s neck. Both hissed in unison, black wings flapping. Each held in its other hand a dark orb of energy, and each prepared to throw the energy at the ancient dragon should he be able to defend himself…
~~~
Shyrion grinned at the Tainted girl, her jagged teeth gleaming in the dim light of the Void. The girl had already begun her capture, but, well… she just couldn’t wait anymore! Tanya needn’t worry, however. Shyrion had no intention of starting her little game until the girl got there.
“Okay, sweetheart, I’m going to go ahead and say hello to my friend,” she said. “Don’t worry, I won’t start the game without you! I’m just going to tell him what game we’re planning on playing, okay? Take your time!” With a wave and a smile, Shyrion fell backwards into her own misted shadow…
~~~
Axys gaped as the water held him fast, and vines began to wind their way up his ankles and wrists. He winced as the thorns drew blood… the two serpent-Tainted freed themselves from their master and darted towards Link, fangs drawn and ready to bite the pearly dragon. Axys looked around at his surroundings—the humans—were gone! Silverwing was gone! Furious, Axys struggled against his verdant bonds, his staff blurring to invisibility. He couldn’t move!
“SILVERWING!” the summoner shrieked, just before he felt a blinding pain in his side. Axys’ gleaming viridian eyes widened in shock as he looked down at Leitha’s fiery bo staff. A wicked snarl escaped his lips. He was immortal! He couldn’t be harmed permanently by attacks such as this one. But it had hurt, and the summoner hated being injured. Master! Help me! But there was no answer—it seemed Riven was busy at the moment. What in the cosmos could the demon lord be doing? The flames from Leitha’s staff began to eat away at his robes, but the summoner quickly drew the fire away before it did any permanent damage.
Silverwing was gone—the summoner had no reason to stay and fight. Somewhere in the distance, Axys could sense the poisoned warrior. If he could get away, the summoner could find Silverwing and recapture him. But he couldn’t get free! The vines wrapped themselves around him ever tighter…
The summoner drew all of the power he had been granted, feeling it press against the vines. He infused the dark energy with his fire element, waiting for the power to build. And underneath it all, he constructed a shield to protect him—
With an angry scream, Axys unleashed the combined darkness and fire. The vines around him disintegrated in the contained explosion, and the water binding evaporated. The summoner knelt, clutching his wounded side as the wild flares enveloped him in a cocoon of molten energy. Suddenly the shadows all around the scene flickered ominously. And then the shadow underneath the airborne Link began to solidify, like a pool of dark tar underneath her. The surface of the pool rippled indistinctly before the lithe, graceful form of a woman leaped fish-like from it. Her skin was a dark blue-black, and as she opened her eyes, they gleamed a bright lurid yellow—pupil-less and wicked. She cast an annoyed glance at the plants all around her, before raising an elegant hand. The vines around her froze entirely, as though they had been stopped in time. Shyrion’s hair hung lank and limp about her feline features, and she tossed it across her thin shoulders before staring at Axys with a conniving smirk. Her five bladed tentacles extended from her shoulder blades, languidly stretching all around her, like a cage of black ropes.
“Hey, handsome,” her silky smooth voice intoned as she blew a kiss in the summoner’s direction. “Did you miss me?” Shyrion sneered dangerously, the silver blades on her whips glittering in the firelight.
“Traitorous snake!” Axys shrieked from within his fiery protective cage. “You’re supposed to be—“ The summoner groaned unexpectedly, his hand clutching his side. “It’s being taken care of,” remarked Shyrion offhandedly, as though she hadn’t noticed that the summoner was hurt. “Seems to me you’re the one who needs a little help around here. But don’t expect any from me, sweetheart.” The ancient Tainted grinned devilishly. “I’m just here to watch the show for now. Then we’ll play a lovely little game, how does that sound?”
“You—how DARE you!? You should be aiding me! The master will not be pleased! He has chosen me—!“
“The Dark One won’t be pleased when he sees what an obvious mess you’re making,” Shyrion warned. “Playing around with these dragons when you should be doing as he has bidden you. Well, since you’ve time to play with these creatures, you’ve obviously more than enough time to play with me.” The ex-general clucked her tongue scornfully. “And besides, I have a friend I’d like you to meet.” The ex-general moved backwards into the spot where Synrai had been. As Shyrion stalked away to observe, the vines came to life again. Axys threw a fireball in the Tainted’s direction, but Shyrion merely fell backwards into her shadow again, only to resurface in the shade of the building.
“Nasty temper,” the ex-general remarked. “Well go on then, I want to watch something interesting before my friend arrives!” With another snarl, Axys leaped out of his cocoon of fire, his blazing staff slashing down at the dragon who had cloven his side…
“That’s more like it!” Shyrion called after the summoner, her elegant hands clapping.
~~~
Wyvern nodded towards the Nen’Shri in appreciation, staring in wonder at the Water Maiden’s lovely scales. He’d never seen such a creature before—his scarlet eyes stared in wonderment.
Suddenly there was a tight sensation around his neck and limbs.
“What!?” the dragon yelped, unfurling his wings halfway and flapping them erratically. “There’s something around my neck and my legs—!” He gasped as the dark rings tightened, but the young dragon only struggled all the more. What sort of magic was this? Had the dark dragon done it? Wyvern hated being imprisoned—and the rings were doing just that…
“Argh! Get it off get it off get it off!” Wyvern thrashed about in the water like an overgrown cat that had just been dumped headlong into a bathtub full of cold water. “What is it what is it what is it!?” Just then there was the crashing of trees and the gleam of yellow eyes. The shadow dragon had returned—injured but angry all the same. Wyvern stared after it, and his jaws opened wide. Fire leaped from his throat, keeping the shadow-creature at bay for the moment while he tried to ascertain what had gotten hold of him… if it weren’t the shadow-dragon, what was it exactly?
~~~
The warm blankets enveloping Synrai seemed to lift, but it really was very comfortable here. Perhaps if he just ignored the pain, he could go back to sleep. Synrai drew in a ragged breath, trying to hold onto the vision. It was nearly dawn… but as Synrai opened his eyes, the warm scene slowly faded away, to be replaced by a darkened room, and a human—Ardan—with a sword. Bewildered, the warrior’s blue eyes widened, thinking of battle. He stirred within the warm cloak someone had put over him, but fell back again, wincing in pain. What was going on?
The memory of his dealings with the summoner returned with the pain in his chest. Axys—was nowhere to be found. Synrai remembered the warm touch of the human girl—Felda—from within his cage of vines. Link—had protected him. The soothing warmth Felda had placed upon him. Yes, Sir Ardan had been there too. They—must have carried me here…
Everyone had stayed to fight the summoner on his behalf. Maybe they were still struggling against Axys now. Were they all right? Perhaps he could ask the young man. Synrai opened his mouth to speak…
Abruptly, the dragon felt a strange sensation around his wrists, ankles, and neck—like bands of something deathly cold around his limbs. It was enough to make a shiver run up and down his spine. The exhausted dragon looked at Ardan curiously for a moment. He wondered distantly what spell someone had placed over him before his eyelids closed in a more fitful slumber.

Quote: "Okay, sweetheart, I’m going to go ahead and say hello to my friend,” she said. “Don’t worry, I won’t start the game without you! I’m just going to tell him what game we’re planning on playing, okay? Take your time!” "Sure thing Shyrion!" Tanya called back absentmindedly, her focus still on the dragons and her rings. "Let me know when the game starts!" For now, she needed to concentrate on finishing this game. The human hadn't been much of a deterrent, as she had anticipated, and the poor dragon was obviously feeling too jangly-metal-pepperoni-and-boiled-maple due to the unfriendly blackness, to struggle much. Tanya was pleased, and flattened her rings a tad to distribute pressure so the dragon would have a more comfortable ride. The rings first lifted the dragon upwards, good and high so that there wouldn't be so any other distracting humans. They then coasted at a fair, yet comfortable speed to where Tanya would be waiting in the Void. In Tanya's opinion, Dragon One was as good as caught. Then what about Dragon Two? The really fun one that she'd chosen to keep. Tanya turned her attention back on Dragon Two, and was alarmed to find him thrashing and flaming like a mad beast. He could really do himself damage that way! For his own safety, Tanya thought it might be best to tighten the ring around his neck. Her plan was to stop him flaming at least, and from there, if he still refused to cooperate, Tanya would have to quite regretfully choke him into unconsciousness so he wouldn't hurt himself. However, the thought was driven out of her skull as she noticed exactly what he had been flaming. Darkness formed into the shape of a dragon, into the shape of her dragon actually. Still, the shape was irrevelant to Tanya, what mattered to her was, this darkness seemed really unfriendly. Also, really strong. Tanya wavered for several moments. She was accustomed to thinking of darkness, especially strong darkness, as her friend. It troubled her to see, first the unfriendly darkness in Dragon One, and now, this unfriendly darkness, modelled after Dragon Two. She tried to figure things out, to make sense of her world, a world starting to crack under the strain of the possibility that sometimes darkness was not her friend. But then, with an overwhelming sense of relief, a thought occured to her to stabilise her shaky grip on reality and make all things right again in the world of her mind. This darkness was just playing. Someone else was just using the darkness to play with, the darkness itself was still her friend. Still her very good, and faithful friend who'd been with her and would be with her forever and always. After all, it had been with her Before, even through the Bad Time.... Bolstered with surety now, her sense of all being right with the world restored to her, she called on the blackness in the Void, feeling its soothing coldness as it filled her up. She would win this game, even with unfriendly darkness! She was sure she could persuade it to be her friend. Probing at the dragon-shaped blackness, she saw it was someone else's toy. Not Shyrion's but someone like Shyrion. Whoever it was used darkness in about the same foreign way Shyrion did, not at all like how Tanya played with and knew darkness. Smiling happily, she set about making friends with it. At the same time, she set up a nice thick shield between it and her pet so it wouldn't be able to be mean to her pet anymore. Bearing down on it with the weight of the darkness that was her friend, she discovered it had a sort of primitive mind which she spoke to firmly, yet pleasantly. "Hallo darkness. I'm Tanya, nice to meet you. Come with me now, alright? I know you, I've played with you ever since I was a little baby and you were only a shadow. We've been best friends forever, I know you. Come with me now darkness, don't listen to that other fellow. You don't have to listen to him, listen to me instead. Come with me. Follow me. Do as I tell you. We are best friends, we have always been so and I know you, every flicker, every ripple, every wax and wane. I know every shade of black, every texture of darkness. I have seen you as a dancing flame, as a flowing river, as a solid shape of your own making and as a shape of my making."
"I bet whoever made you only knew you as his own, isn't that right? But I know you in your raw form, your original state in all its varied flavours. Others see only your power, or the beauty of your power. I think you're pretty in and of yourself. I can distinguish you from any other patch of darkness, as easily as I distinguish red from yellow, or blue from purple. I know you best, all your hidden ways and tricks and secrets. Follow me."Her eyes bottomless pools of obsidian, Tanya exerted her will on the unfriendly darkness, willing it to be friendly to her and do as she told it. The darkness was her friend, she just needed to free it from the control of whoever's toy it was right now. She knew it would only be a matter of time. That seemed to be the flaw in the way Shyrion and whoever it was did things, and the way she did things. Their darkness complied because they were theirs, entwined in their souls. Hers complied because she knew them at their most basic level, when she called, they answered and she made them hers. There was a very big difference.

A firey dome covered Leitha in her shock. In her memories, she had never felt dark magic before, but in her heart she knew she'd known it before. With all her strength, she tried to remember under the safety of her sheild, but when she tried to look, a slippery wall seemed to block her path. Her eyes flashed anger at whatever it was. But she could do nothing.
Am I needed here? she finally asked herself. Why am I here? What is it that's going on? The flame sheild dissapated and Leitha grabbed her head as though she had a headache. A dullness grew in her eyes as she continued to question.
Then the amulets in her pack began to hum again. She glared at the elvan stones. Zoma, an elf, worked with them, so that was why she carried them around. Just stop that sound! she ground her teeth and rubbed her eyes. She grabbed one out of the pack unleasing a blinding light. Her eyes didn't blink as they took in no light. She gripped the red stone in its metal encasing until her hand was bleeding the color of the stone. I have no use for these, she glared at them. They are meant to be used to help others, but I don't know how to do that.
After a few more seconds of anger, she knocked the stone on her head. A tear creapt out of her eye. She wiped it away angerly. With a grunt, she stood up. The amulet was roughly placed back in the pack.
The other man, she remembered. Though she didn't know Reyen's name yet, he was nice enough to say he'd cover for them. I should help, she thought. Then crossly continued, As if I'm any help.
Her small feet swiftly carried her over to the fight of Reyen. A ball of fire was held in her hand as she aproached. With a practiced throw, she flung the fire at one of the enemy. Fueled by the anger she created in herself, the flame of the ball was immense in size and fast at the same time.

Link wanted to take the battle closer but Axys had freed himself of her bonds. So much for that plan. Unfortunately she would not have the time to make another; he had sent two serpents after her. Throwing up more water she attempted to stop them but they only darted through the liquid. That was a problem.
A vine with particularly long thorns, about three inches, lashed out at one of the serpents. It wrapped around it pushing its deadly poisoned thorns in and out of its body. The snake writhed in pain but could go no where. The second snake avoided the vines and shot right after Link. The pearly dragon threw up an arm as she reached for her sword.
Link could feel razor teeth sinking into her forearm as the serpent caught up to her and bit down. She grunted and drew her sword. The snake was soon disconnected from her arm as she cut its body in half. It dropped to the ground in two pieces – Link had the displeasure of feeling the fangs slide out of her arm. She could only hope they weren’t poisonous . . . or that they wouldn’t come back . . . she wasn’t sure which would be worse.

Ekanta was quite surprised to see Wyvern thrashing around in a distressed manner. She could quickly spot what was causing him discomfort. There were tightening rings around his neck, wrists and ankles. But these were the least of their problems. The shadow dragon was back. She needed to take care of two things at once.
Ekanta summoned a large amount of lake water and threw it at the shadow. It dispersed itself around the shadow containing it in a sphere of water. One down, one to go.
“Hold still!” Ekanta ordered. She made water flow up to each of the rings and try to wiggle their way in between Wyvern and the rings. As soon as that was done she pulled on the rings, trying to make them wider so he could slip out of them.
“Wyvern!” she grunted, “Change back! Change forms!”

The shadow dragon leaped aside just as Wyvern’s flame-breath came at it; its shadow-flesh was still discordant and broken where another burst of flame from the young dragon had singed it. But it knew beyond any shadow of doubt—these creatures in the lake must be subdued. The master had ordered it. Just as it was about to lunge into the air after the two, the shadow-dragon heard a voice—a strong voice, yet the voice of a child.
I have seen you as a dancing flame, as a flowing river, as a solid shape of your own making and as a shape of my making
Yes, the shadow did know this child—though from where, it couldn’t recall. And there was something commanding about that voice, something that was over-riding the orders of the human summoner that had called upon its services.
Others see only your power, or the beauty of your power. I think you're pretty in and of yourself.The shadow began to waver, like a dancing ember upon the wind. But the master had ordered—and yet, who really was the master? The shadow felt the bond between them stretch and finally, break. It stood for an instant, before a wall of water washed itself around the dragon’s form, imprisoning it.
Well, that was that. With a dull swish, the shadow-dragon changed into its ethereal form—a column of smoke, just before vanishing entirely back into the Void. Suddenly the material plane didn’t seem so friendly anymore—it would much rather be home, tumbling about the wasteland of its own accord.
~~~
Wyvern felt the ring tighten all the more around his neck and limbs as he struggled against his bonds. He cast a bewildered gaze at Ekanta, who was trying to loosen the rings with her water magic. Who was trying to imprison him? Was it that summoner? Perhaps the shadow dragon…?
But no, the shadow was gone now. Why had it left?
Wyvern! Change back! Change forms!
“Oh!” Wyvern could have laughed. Of course! If he changed forms, the rings would be too big to fit around him! He could slip right out! As he shifted back into human form, the dragon saw the lake around him get larger and—
SPLOOSH
The tousle-haired dragon in human form treaded water to the surface, blinking wet strands of hair out of his eyes and shivering slightly from the sudden cold of the lake…
~~~
Synrai felt a sudden chill envelop him, it spread through him like a blast of arctic air—but there was something different about this cold. It wasn’t so much a drop in temperature—but an eerie sensation, as though he were swimming through water. Somehow he felt lighter, and yet heavier at the same time. He tried to move his hands, but the frosty bands held them fast—his heart raced in fear. Was this Axys’ doing? What had the summoner in store for him this time? Perhaps he’d been captured… but if that were the case, what had happened to his friends?
The questions rushing through his head ceased abruptly as he felt hard-packed earth underneath his supine form, and his limp fingers trailed through fine sand. He let his digits play with the featherweight earth. No, not sand… ash… Ash? Synrai opened his eyes to see what had befallen him. Surely this wasn’t Nathoran? The desert world was never this cold.
Cerulean eyes traced their way across the gray landscape all around him. The earth was flat and featureless; the sky above stained the color of spilled ink. There were no stars, nor moons to light the lifeless waste, and yet the place retained a surreal white glow. Synrai blinked as his eyes strayed out of focus. In the distance lay a jagged mountain range, the peaks wavering chaotically as though they were made of solid mist shifting erratically in the wind. The dragon’s eyes closed for an instant, and he looked away as his heart gave another painful twinge. When his gaze returned to the mountain range, the dragon was shocked to see that it had disappeared entirely, leaving a gaping hole in the landscape, like a great lake of shadow…
What is this place?

Tanya was glad that the shadow-dragon-that-was-no-more had gone back to being normal darkness and stopped being so unfriendly. Unfortunately, as she refocused on the real dragons, she found to her dismay, that while Dragon One was coming along nicely and should reach her part of the Void at any moment now, Dragon Two had switched to human form and, without her guidance, her rings had forgotten to contract around him allowing him to slip free.
"Oops!" she thought, and hurried to remedy the situation. The passively floating rings twitched, then abruptly zoomed to close in on the human-shaped dragon again, shrinking to fit as they did so. Tanya had adjusted her orders to the black rings. Now when they caught the dragon, they would mould themselves to their area of the dragon and expand or contract as the dragon expanded or contracted. Tanya wouldn't be fooled by the same trick twice! Especially a trick which had only worked the first time because she'd been distracted by making friends with the shadow dragon.

Reyen stood there, as light smile on his face. Had he missed so much the thrill of battle? An ecstasy that was hard to quit. It's who Reyen was. A fighter, one who killed others. He'd, of course, accepted this dark truth. It was the truth after all. Hrm, perhaps he was a dark person to begin with. He had never given in to any Dark magic, to the point where it didn't even exist within him. Reyen had often thought about it though. If he ever did give in to it... Well, he'd pretty damned good at it. His pride and ferocity, that had mellowed over the years, could easily return with this fight. Even if they were just grunts.
Reyen eyed the two creatures approaching him fast. The each looked exactly like him, but they were only fakes. Fakes with swords and orbs of dark energy. Their movements were easily readable by Reyen. "Heh. Too easy." He thought as he crouched down, his thighs becoming parallel with the ground. His sword was raised of his shoulder, the tip of it pointing towards the ground. His small grin before had grown in size, showing how much he exactly did enjoy battle. As much as he might hate it, his blood was of a Rol's.
The two enemies drew in close, each sending a swift attack at Reyen. They had the intent to cut his head and lower body off, which would instantly kill him of course. But the attack was easily predictable, from long before it even got in close. His sword swept in front of him, easily deflecting the attack for his neck. His free hand created a compact form of wind energy and was sent at the other blade, also deflecting it. By now he had already repositioned his sword to attack. The blade approached one of the beasts abdomen.
Reyen stopped and looked to his left. "The hell?" He said. A giant, flaming ball was going straight for him and the guardian. Behind it Reyen noticed that it was that girl from before, the one he told to help Link. What the hell was she doing? She was going to friggin fry him!"Oh Hell. This is just great." His eyes trailed over to the thing he was just about to kill.. "You're lucky." He said as he recoiled his sword back to in front of him. His large majestic wings pounded down, lifting himself into the air just as the fireball passed by. The tips f his wings were, however, slightly burned. It was surprisingly painful and sent waves of pain throughout Reyen. His wings were, in actuality, probably the are that caused most pain when damaged. But they did heal extremely fast. These little burns would probably be gone in ten to twenty minutes.
Reyen landed beside Leitha. "What are you doing!?" He said, returning his attention to one of the guardians. He knew not if the other one had lived from that attack.

Leitha stepped back in surprise at the anger in his voice. It took her a few seconds to realize that he must've gotten in the way of her blast. The realization that her anger at herself clouded her mind destroyed all other thoughts. Thinking that her pretense to be human instead of a dragon by using fire wasn't looking to be a good idea anymore.
"Sor-" she coughed at the sudden use of words. She banged her chest and coughed again. Trying to look in Reyen's direction, she continued, "Sorry. You went into the blast." The words were deliberate as her disobediant mouth tried to form them.
The young dragon was about to turn toward the enemy when she listened to the sounds around her. I surprised her to hear blood rushing and skin healing. Startled, she noticed that her fire had burned the man. Without even thinking, she dove into her pack and felt around. Her fingers came upon a different amulet.
When she brought it out, its blue light flared up. The light fadded to leave a brilliant, ocean blue stone. Her quick fingers reached over to Reyen and placed the amulet on his burn. Not knowing that he was a dragon and did indeed heal fast, she explained, "This should speed up the healing." On a human, this amulet would heal a flesh wound in a few minutes. On a dragon, it healed a wound instantly.
Leitha was suprised when the wound heal remarkably fast. After she blinked a few times, a thought came to her. Only I heal that fast with Zoma's stones, she thought in awe. It didn't occur to her that he was a dragon also. And now was not the time to contemplate it. With bo staff in hand, she swung around ready for an attack.
