Zaan shakes his head in exasperation. "So much for my castle." With a simple gesture, the Shadow Servant steps from the shadows. Another moment's concentration and his Dark Aura is around him. Surveying the battle, he picks one of Hideki's minions and sends the Servant after it. Zaan is only a few steps behind his creature.

"Now that I know it's coming, it won't work!" Hideki growled.
Genno, throwing another futile attack as Hideki laughs, watches his adversary create more beasts that are sent after Kabuto, though one deviates and goes towards Zaan.
Genno makes a fist and sweeps his arm down at Hideki, then laughs as Hideki falls for the feint and jumps back. A segment of the burning ceiling clips the madman on his head and sends him reeling. Genno takes advantage of this opportunity and summons the magic again. Flame wraps around his wrist, down to his fingers, which he curls up into a fist. He prepares to strike Hideki.

Once again in a great flash of light all of Hideki's minions are gone.

Sam caught up to the group.
"Sorry guy-"She was cut off.
"Holy mother of..."
She looked at Hideki and then at Zaan and Genno. What was going on?

Sam backed up and shut the door to make sure Hideki didn't escape.

Hideki used the same spell, summoning fire around his arm, it protruded from his hand like a weapon and smashed into Genno, knocking him back and lighting the hem of his robes on fire. Thinking fast, Genno summoned a snowfall which surrounded him and breathed a blast of icy death on Hideki. Genno saw humanoid minions emerge from the smoke and go after the people gathered at the door again and watched for Hideki.

Kabuto suddenly disappeared and struck an immense blow to the back of Hideki's neck leaving him stunned. "Genno finish him now."

Hideki turned the blow and threw Kabuto into the arms of a doppelganger. The clone held him while another walked over with intent to pummel the life ou of Kabuto. "Sam, help him!" Genno yelled.

Sam ran over to the doppelganger that held Kabuto. She sent a shield to Kabuto. Once he had it, she sent ice chunks flying into the doppelganger. One particularly sharp ice chuck went flying into it's neck. It was dead. As for the other one, she took out her sword and stabbed it in the chest.

Genno looked, awed at Sam's attack. He then turned to strike the wounded madman. "Die pig!!" He cursed, throwing the magic at Hideki.
Suddenly, he was brought back to a time when he was learning from Hideki.

"Genno! Get your head in the battle!" She could see him in a daze.
Hideki looked like he was going to attack.

"Master's gone... wonder what I'll do now." His gaze turned to an old book on the shelves. He looked at the book, realized it's value, and copied it that night. He remembered specifically one spell. Soul Beam. At the cost of a portion of one's soul, they could destroy an enemy. He remembered chanting the words to himself, over and over. and over. Genno's body shuddered as his soul left it.
