"I'm sure you'll find one sooner or later," Sol offered with a faint smile. Sammy's excessive cheerfulness was making her uneasy, but she ignored said feeling. Not many people talked to such a dark-looking figure as her, after all. Sol arched an eyebrow. "Perhaps we should look around the beach for some? I still want a shinx, and there's bound to be one around here somewhere."
Orion grinned at Squirt. It gave him the appearance of saying, "I want to see you do better than me!" A friendly challenge to his new-found friend, so to speak. Orion loved challenges.

Sammy nodded, wanting to find.... Well, any pokemon. She didn't want to overpopulate her PC or anything, but she thought Squirt might want a few friends. "Sure!" She said, smiling. Squirt raised his head to the sky, a sign that he thought he would obviously win that challenge.

Sol nodded and began to look over the rocks, as the sun set and the waves continued to lap against the shore. Now a burst of electricity released by the wild electric type would be easier to see. Sighing, she motioned to Orion and began to walk a little ways down the beach, searching for the elusive kitty.

Sammy began to follow Sol, but soon found herself nearly tackled to the ground by a Shinx. "What the--?!" She was startled, but soon pointed forward. "Squirt! Use Tackle!" She called out. Squirt raced forward at the pokemon, slamming into it.

Sol turned as her new traveling partner let out a yell. She spun around, expecting the worst, but her jaw dropped when she saw the small pokemon that had tackled Sammy. A shinx. Dammit, was that ever annoying; the very pokemon she was looking for.
She sighed and collected herself, glad for the cover of darkness. She needed to stop slipping like that. She spun around and began looking through the rocks. Where there was one, there would be more.
Orion, though, stopped to watch the battle. He smiled at Squirt's tackle; it looked very powerful.

Sol continued looking through the rocks, having not found a pokemon yet. Surely there had to be a shinx around here somewhere. She kept one eye on Sammy as she searched, finding herself interested in how well the other trainer could fight. Not bad, from the looks of it.

Sol sighed. She was beginning to get slightly frustrated, but she reminded herself that patience was everything. Surely she'd get a shinx soon. She peered behind another rock, then began moving in a slow, loping line towards the tall, yellow grasses that lined the beach.

Sol looked curiously over at Sammy as she paused in her search, purposely ignoring the rustling in the grasses. If she made it known that she knew the pokemon was there, it would most likely flee.
Orion too noticed the rustling, and reluctantly drew away from the battle to quietly pace over to Sol. The charmander was ready for another fight, despite how little time he had had to rest.

Sol took a step back in surprise as an abra suddenly pushed the grasses aside. Sure, she wanted to catch a shinx, but...abra was a rare pokemon. She liked rare pokemon. The quiet trainer smirked, then frowned, recalling the pokemon's moveset. It only knew teleport, which would make it extremely hard to catch. Quickly she threw a pokeball at it, hoping for the best.

Sol cursed as the ball shook once and then opened. The abra immediately used teleport, smacking Orion with its tail before fleeing. She glanced around, feeling annoyed; she was having the most rotten luck tonight, it seemed.

Agitated, Solaris stalked through the grass, unwilling to give up quite yet. Orion followed anxiously behind her, slightly annoyed with himself for having allowed that abra to get away.
She looked around, seeing the cliff rising up a few paces away. She walked over to it and leaned against it; no need to get so worked up. She sighed and ran a hand over her forehead.

Sol looked around, wondering how Sammy's battle was going. It seemed to be going pretty well; she had already bonded well with her squirtle. The small turtle's attack was quite powerful against the stronger type.
She sat down, back against the cliff. Perhaps she should just wait for the pokemon to come to her.

Sol took out a sketchpad and pencil from her pack and brought her legs closer to her chest, resting the pad against them. She began to look for something to draw; you couldn't see much in the darkness, now, except for the violent flashes of electricity from Sammy's battle. That in itself was going to fast for her to draw as well. She frowned as tapped the end of the mechanical pencil against the paper.

Orion looked over to where his trainer was sitting, lost in thought as she gazed around. He didn't know she liked to draw. Quietly he walked over to her and poked her, making Sol's eyes slide over to watch him. Shrugging, he walked over in front of her and sat down, legs spread out, his paws holding his tail close to his face and illuminating the scene.

Solaris smiled lightly and moved her legs to an indian sit; it made it easier for the glow of his tail to illuminate her paper. Studying him for a moment, she began to sketch out his general shape. A circle for the head, two circles on top of each other for his lithe body, and you couldn't forget the long line that represented his spinal column. Slowly but surely the fire salamander's form began to take shape.
