Yeah, that's how I've been fighting. Southpaw. So its still a lead jab if it's from the right.
However, what's the best type of punch for a shot to the abdomen?

Hook and uppercut are the most common and safer alternatives.
You can throw a cross.. but you kinda have to kneel for it.. that and you need distance.
You might as well just get in close and slam hooks and uppers into the gut.

I have such a RL issue with fighting stances. gonk I fence, so I naturally lead with the right, but with fistfighting, I have to stop myself and lead with the left instead. Better for pushing off with the right and landing full-weight punches with the right.
... Not that I get into many fistfights. Make love, not war. wink
